History / History of European and Poland's anti-semitism [192]

Yes, I'd be a fool to say otherwise. But not by virtue of being schizophrenic. Bush should have known better. Schizophrenics totally lack reason and thus can't really be held accountable for their actions. Many are harmless though. Victims only of stigmas by 'normal' people

Not necessarily. In Scotland, we have the total alienation of reason test. This is the basis of insanity. In England, the McNaughton rules. Now, this is no guarantee that such a person will start a war. What do u understand by the concept of mens rea?

U must understand this b4 we can go any further with this

Dude, there was a serious point here. I don't want schizophrenics being painted with a bad brush. Bush is considered as normal. He could prove his sanity. My point was that so-called normal people can cause more harm than mentally ill people.

Jesus lad, Bush ISN'T schizophrenic, that was the WHOLE point.

Bush, a 'normal' man, has caused untold suffering whereas schizophrenics often just wander aimlessly and harm no-one.

U know, these people may have rolled the dice and gotten fu*ked up through drugs. This can be for many reasons, high among them being boredom and experimentation. Ok, yes, they must accept the consequences but they maybe had the best of intentions.

Sorry, Stalin wasn't schizophrenic. Barely even schizoid

I agree. I know a couple of such types here. One jibber-jabbers to himself the whole time. Well, u know, as a teacher I encourage people to speak. This guy has a continuous running dialogue, he's streets ahead, LOL

In a class of his own

And what? This disturbs u? Some of the best minds were psychologically imbalanced. If u don't like it, u can just not read it. Face it, the world has many such types and u shouldn't expect any different on forums.

History / Memorial to honour the thousands of Scottish-based Polish soldiers [10]

Please take THE effort. Sorry Admin, just being a teacher. U could say, 'please make an effort to read.....'. Make an, take the

Yeah, I was discussing such relations today Celinski. I think a deepening of ties is within the interests of both of our countries. There are many up and coming young people in Poland, the kids I teach are probably sharper than Tusk.

Thanks for the link Celinski and thanks for the Obama vote. I assume u r voting Obama :)

News / Poland's fight against paedophilia [277]

Castration, eh? Well, rumour has it that castrated paedophiles want to re-offend. They just don't have the balls to do it :)

It's just nuts

Life / Reasons for moving to Poland [291]

Hell yeah!! Also, Poland has sth called krówki. Us Scots know it as tablet (no, not tablets or disco biscuits, lol). A treat for those with a sweet tooth.

Life / Reasons for moving to Poland [291]

I want to say sth original here. Not the irritating 'our women are best' crap.

But what? Hmm...well, it is nice for those who like mountains. U can see bears and really get fit by doing some climbing. Not completely original but it's always a salient point when discussing Poland. The forests here are beautiful too.

There is a thriving music scene in many of the big cities. There is plenty of entertainment to be had on weekends.

UK, Ireland / Britain... What the Poles did for us. [444]

The point is, they weren't there to make an impact. Many who went prayed for better days in their home country and a stint in the UK was an ideal respite from trying times. Their gamble has paid off as things have picked up here. Salaries have gone up and Tusk has created more job opportunities. Or, so we are told.

UK, Ireland / Britain... What the Poles did for us. [444]

Let's update this discussion. The Poles gave us cracking delis. It allowed me to buy bigos and gołąbki so my Dad could try it. They give Brits a chance to try, first hand, what all the boasting is about. Especially bread.

For me, this counts.

UK, Ireland / What do you hate about England and English people? [142]

I have a chance to go to Calgary as I have a friend there. My, I like this diversion from attacking England. Strange for a Scot to be saying that. Maybe when I start my next whisky, that'll change ;)
