Food / Eating Kielbasa - how do you cook yours? [119]

Horseradish, nice. I have some from a company called Motyl, tasty. I also bought some Wasabi horseradish by Provitus. Spicy as hell, good for sausages. It's not quite wasabi'ish enough for sushi so I bought separate wasabi.

Hard to give one precise colour, light brown. I'm tempted to say mustardy but that hasn't crept into modern parlance as of yet. It's made by Kamis, the ones I have. From a glass jar. The squeezy ones are better for grills of course.

Not yellow like Colman's. I have eaten many quality Polish mustards but this one is better than them all. Good old English mustard. Some have tried to copy it. They've done well but not well enough.

Food / Borscht - Zurek / Bialy barszcz recipe [153]

Aha, in Silesia it's most commonly z jajkiem. Pepper is up to the adder of it. Here, the sausage is cooked like in zosia's example.

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

From what I hear, train theft is pretty bad. Asides from that, thieves will be thieves, regardless of country.

UK, Ireland / What do you hate about England and English people? [142]

Too many Chavs on the go. Also, it gave up on Aneurin Bevan's 'from cradle to grave' notion way too cheaply. This is one of the biggest disappointments, how the NHS changed from being a genuine gem to entertaining nonsense like CCT and excessive privatisation.

Formillier? Is this a French verb? Have to ask Polson.

Nah, just being stupid again. Sorry, here we go.

They say that, when the Germans come across the border to buy a second-hand car within Poland, the chances are that it's theirs anyway. It just becomes repossessed again.

Tyres, thieves.

Again, a lot of nonsense comes from stereotypes. Most of us are familiar with the Germany-Poland car joke.

Language / The Polish language - it's bloody hard! [210]

Polski jest jednym z najtrudniejszych języków na świecie.

I'm not sure if the above is correct, cases get me. My instinct tells me it's ok, maybe missing a mark or 2, LOL.

Europa da się lubić gives non-Poles hope. There are some on the forum who just assume that non-Poles cannot understand Poland or Polish. How wrong they are.

Life / Reasons for moving to Poland [291]

They made out that they were some clerks from a local office and she let them in. She's deaf so she likely heard nothing.

Yeah, bleedin gypos. They conned my fiancee's grandma to the tune of 30k.

Rule no 1: Don't let a gypo into your house.

I saw some at the local Tesco today. They even look like crooks

What is what all about? The money difference? Yeah, at one level it gets to me when the Poles call the Scots stingy. The level of stinginess is much higher here from what I've seen in 4 years than in Scotland.
