That's what the EU is, a bloc of self interest.

For all who dream of it's split up I would like to see a better alternative first...otherwise you will all end up as losers.

The most possible development I personally can foresee is a split up of the EU in a new core (the founders + the Baltics maybe) and a rest. Because there are countries who see exactly how much they need the EU for their self interest, for their economical survival.

I'm not sure countries like Poland or Hungary would fare better out on the margins again...

That rape must have taken minutes...minutes in where the bastard was busy, surely no longer with his hands on her neck...there must have been stones and sticks around...surely ANYTHING would had been better than doing nothing and keep sitting and listening to his crying girl...

Call it "cavemen" if you so want, but there are some basic actions which define you as a human being. NOT to keep sitting when your girl get's hurt is one of them.

PS: Another possible conncection to that "safety first" - thinking...the widely lamented decreasing will of "Zivilcourage". Because that's what it is. Fear of getting hurt, fear of doing the wrong thing and fear of getting accused from the state, getting punished for helping afterwards. So, better keep sitting and look the other way when someone is about to get hurt! Cowardice is so much safer!!!

Well, I wan't better for my girl, she made a self-defense course...in that she LEARNED how to disarm an attacker with a knife, and the family is glad about that. There are kicks against the forearm possible which changes the knifed attacker into a screamer without a knife.

Just because someone is waving a knife in front of you that shouldn't force you into a state of shock and neither be an invitation for the attacker to do with you what he wants.

And seriously, if you aren't ready to defend your loved one in her hour of need, even if it means danger to yourself, frankly...your "love" is worth ****!

That reminds me about two cases I read about....

One was back at the infamous Silvester party in Cologne where one young man described that he didn't help his girlfriend which was attacked by some Nafris...the other one the boyfriend of this girl which was raped recently by this african on the meadows during camping (you know the court just ended recently). Who raped the girl and ordered the young man to stay in the tent...and the young man did!

There is something severely wrong here. And in my opinion it's these laws, when a man can't know anymore when he wants to defend someone dear in danger if he is still on the right side of the law when he helps, and not that he gets an accusation for helping afterwards.

These cases belong together....and THAT IS WRONG!

And in our justice system the father will probably get a harder punishment than the bastard who abused his daughter.

And then politicians ask why more and more people question our justice system...that's it. It's these handlings which may maybe correctly follow our laws to the letter but just aren't fair and often contradict any inner sense of justness!

Next step a party comes up and promises just that...and wins votes...who is to blame?

I'm actually re-considering that. Today I read in the news that our health- and pensions funds are being filled again through these immigrants.

The thing is because of the natives demographics development my own pension isn't secured anymore, I have already to prepare myself for this time more than my parents needed to.

For the young people the future looks even more dire...Now these immigrants are a way out...as long as they don't knife or rape me they secure my pension! That is not to forget either...


Frankly the natives demographic development is in the East even more dire than in the West, because so many young people (and women) left....

Totally agree! But you see...it has nothing to do with either Germany wanting to treat Greece like a "defeated enemy" nor with Merkel. She and the german taxpayer had been left to clear up this long before started mess as best as they knew how...

Now that is quite not true...in most european countries the majority is pro-EU and don't want their countries to leave. Curiously these numbers did rise during the Brexit-Bruhaha.

There is no "domino"-effect Farage dreamt off. Not even the Greeks want to leave the EU....and they should know better, shouldn't they! ;)

PS: And right now the numbers of Brits who would also rather stay in the EU has tipped to the majority too...
