Life / Let`s compare prices of services and products in Poland [359]

Good one, also private buses are very reasonably priced and should be included as part of public transport.

This is one that gets on my goat. For example I dont use a car, so I must travel this way all the time. A wee while ago I went for a day trip to Edinburgh (approximately 30 miles away and a 20 min car journey by motorway). It cost me £2.80 to by bus to get to the bus station in Stirling, then the train from Stirling to Edin cost £14 one way. Once you put in the others costs like visiting Holyrood (£18), dinner (£28) castle entrance £18 and a few beers which came to around £20. By the time wee got home that night, I think I had spent about £120 on a single day out!

In my village, rent for average 1 bed flat = about £360. Petrol is around £1.30 per litre, nice laptop is from £280 to about £300, milk 50p for 1 litre, loaf of bread about £1.20, beer about £2.80 a pint in pub, £1.50 in shop. Min wage in this area is about £850 per month after tax for 36hrs a week.

Love / Unmarried couples in Poland = pathology [310]

I think you are all missing the point here.
The love and future of a child does not depend solely on being brought up in a family unit. Many kids are happy enough living within other "family" groups types. Some families that have parents which are not married provide perfectly normal lives for their children. Signing a piece of paper isn't going to change that. Moreover not signing it wouldn't change it much. If a child is loved, cared for and provided for then who would argue against that. There are plenty of parentless children who would love to be in a position to have at least one parent, let alone be in family where both parents are married to each other.

It would be great if all kids in the world could be raised within a married family unit, but to say that it is wrong to be otherwise would mean denying a child the right to life. Being married is great but being loved ect as a child is greater, despite the group you are being raised in.

A woman living with her boyfriend is twice as likely to become the victim of domestic violence as a married woman, an expert in field says.

This and the rest of the "facts" you state are BS, are you seriously trying to suggest if these couples suddenly get married they will stop fighting? and that all of these couples have children?

News / €11,700 to every migrant returning to the Polish capital and starting a business there. [110]

In my opinion schooling.

No not really, if schooling teaches you to invest in over priced housing. Something that in Ireland destroyed its capital. I waited, owning the properties and land till the last moment. If i was smart I would have sold them off during the boom, then waited till this time to buy back. But its my families land, I wont sell it for nothing.

the fact that Poland was the only economy in Europe not to go into recession

You could argue it was the only one because it hadnt developed a financial basis like the others. Im not saying this is a good or bad thing.

we have the best performing economy in Europe

The best performing economy is Germany, over the last quarter.

it business that still wants the big margins that they had on the way up,

Therefore there actually is more money for the business' that done well during the boom.

Salaries have been rising all the time, slowly but steadily, unless you have other information?

Not exactly, rising yes, but rising towards current markets in the EU?

So rather than give them money when they have it, you'd give them money when they have it?

You miss my point. One of the things that larger international companies are missing in the short term are the tax breaks. They already have the HR but it is being badly used due to the taxation laws. IE better to employ a student accountant in the firms international HQ for finance than to employ someone at a decent wage for more professional staff.

Edit: maybe you didnt miss my point, but I didnt make it clear what I was talking about.
