that comment might be better directed at Mr. Widenka rather than myself. i have a good idea of what is going on. it's Mr. Widenka who has the problem understanding the market.

but I've heard horror stories of jealousy and grabbing within families.

i've heard more than one might expect.

Wishing your oldies dead just to get their money is horrible.

this goes on too. however, i've never heard a direct comment. one can pick it out in conversation sometimes. if it's not the money, it's the flat that they are after.

My question is: how large an amount would you give if you were me? I have no idea on how much I should give.

it sort of works out that u pay for your meal at the reception and add a little more.

plus, it depends how close u are and what u can afford.

maybe 400 to 500 zl. that would be from a couple, but probably the same from a single guest.

wait for others to reply and give an opinion.

it could be one of the reasons some folk wait longer before buying. they like to see it before they pay.

well, i understand why he was pissed off.

another dodgy business deal gone wrong. i hope the scumbag developer who scammed this guy realizes the consequences of his actions.

if u are not up to date: the young man sank his savings into a building, which was never built and the money was not returned. in Poland, where this happens a little too often.

I don't get how they can be so outgoing when drinking yet so unbelievably aloof when serving. What's with that?

go to business school, learn to run a shop, open a shop, but forget about the psychology of shopping and shoppers. that's if they ever learnt it.

i don't have time for clients, i'm too busy dreaming of being a millionaire.

anywhere but Poland.

many local shopkeepers perk up when their favourite locals come in

there are of course some shopkeepers here who value their customers and show it.

but here, it's like 'oh, you again, what do you want?'.

i've walked out of shops because of this.

but today is a holiday, the shops are closed, and i don't care.

It's always the other person's fault.

welcome to Poland.

the way people do things here adds to the novelty of living here. there are miserable buggers everywhere.

not gifts, but gift. u should be able to slip them the envelope at the reception.

a lot of folks go for cash and not toasters etc.

check with your aunt and uncle or whoever. or just ask your cousin.
