News / Warsaw a "big winner" in city life quality index [26]

Hmmm. Prague only reached the 70s mark.

Dublin is 26th(I was only taking the **** when I said Dublin should be in the top ten).

Dublin a better city than Barca, Prague, Boston and SF etc. etc.:)

Dublins a kip. A loveable, loveable kip. Its me home and I love the shop. But its still a kip. I would take this "study" with a large bucket full of salt.

youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5L4IOjW5lYk

Half of the population of native Dubliners are stark raving mad. I am still laughing at Dublin being the "26th best city to live in, in the world". Dublin is an open mental asylum!

Great city to visit, but.

but they are usually very highly targeted at minority groups.

That do not belong on european soil.

That reminds me. I must purchase a bottle of Krug so I can pop 'er when the EU eventually crumbles. Ive one on ice already for the milk snatcher.

Default, default, default.

News / Polish Policeman shoots down a foreigner in Warsaw [300]

"He said police officers had tried to stop the Nigerian man bleeding while waiting for an ambulance but they were prevented from doing so because they were still under attack. Thirty-two people, mostly foreigners, were arrested in the fracas". - Reuters

That statement is backed up by an image posted earlier in the thread. Two lads, wearing holsters, putting pressure on the africans gun shoot wound.

Whats was this african lads status in Poland?

We're a strongly catholic country thats been monolithic as a society for the last 65 years, the first major ethnic issue is going to cause an instant backlash of deportations etc, i'm not really worried about our politicians bending over.

Around ten years ago, I would have said the same(apart from the shower of horrible bastards up north). As a teenager, seeing a black chap around my neck of the woods, would have been most unusual. Now, the area is predominantly foreign born. In 2003, my school had 900 students. A couple of Iraqi refugees, a few brits and one or two europeans. They probably made up 0.5% of the students. Now 60% of the schools students are foreign born.

I can back up my claims with governmental reports, but Id be going off topic. Anyway, my point is that demographics can change at a blink of an eye. You could feck off to America for five or six years and come back to find your hometown changed beyond recognition. Never say never.

Law / Applying for Polish citizenship through marriage. [116]

Make sure you have sufficient funds. Your Australian spouse will be waiting for a minimum of six months for the stamp 4 visa(right to work). He will get a stamp 3 visa(permission to remain). So, you will be the bread winner for at least six months and if you become a burden on the state(i.e. claim welfare) he will find renewing stamp4/3 very difficult. Furthermore, Ireland, the UK and Denmark(what a combination) have already been brought to ECJ for failing to follow the directives(2008). Now, normally Ireland follows the UKs lead when it comes to immigration, due to the common travel area, so if Ireland is breaking the directives and *refusing to issue the non EU spouses with Stamp 4, that would lead me to believe that the Brits are or will be doing similar.

* - irishtimes.com/newspaper/ireland/2010/0511/1224270128873.html

** - Id recommend getting an immigration lawyer before you even enter the UK, especially with a new government just after being formed. A very eurosceptic one at that.

News / Polish Policeman shoots down a foreigner in Warsaw [300]

Thats .........

Is there any debate in the Polish parliament or is Poland, like the rest of europe, about to become multicultural by default?

Circa 30,000 Irish 18-30 years emigrated to US/CAN/AUS/NZ/UK in the last 18 months. This is constantly debated and discussed in our parliament. Over 1,000,000 foreigners arrived on our shores en masse over the past decade. Not a peep, not a single debate.

Its important for Poland to debate, inform, and legislate for the impending "enrichment". As sure as night turns to day, Poland will eventually get its share of mass immigration.

Those of us who hate criminals, not the poor and uneducated, aren't.

I just want my country to remain relatively homogenous. Ditto with europe.

Whats wrong with that?

Migrating from Western European countries, open borders remember.

Yes, but are they getting work permits or claiming asylum(lol)?

Why are the Polish government importing third worlders when millions of Polish citizens were forced to leave during the past decade?

Doesnt make sense to me.

Everybody knows and it has been proven that poverty leads to a bigger rate of crime. Why do you think that the crime rate is much higher in the poor areas of a city?

Bollix. Poor people dont cheat, rob, rape and kill — criminals do.

Law / Applying for Polish citizenship through marriage. [116]

p.s. well, by "benefits" I meant - being able to work and live in most EU countries without visa.

The general rule is that the non-EU spouse has exactly the same right of free movement and work as the EU citizen (as long as they are doing it in the same place).

A. Employment
Fill out this part when the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen is currently working for an employer. This includes vocational training programmes and some non-proprietary directors.

B. Self-employment
Fill out this part when the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen is a sole trader, in a business partnership, or is a proprietary director of a registered company.

C. Study
Fill out this part when the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen is engaged in a course of study with a qualifying educational institute or college.

D. Involuntary unemployment
Fill out this part when the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen has been employed in the State but has since become involuntarily unemployed.

E. Residing with sufficient resources
Fill out this part when the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen has sufficient resources to maintain themselves and any dependants, subject to the conditions of Regulation 2(3) and Regulation 6(2) of the Regulations.

Please note: the EU, EEA or Swiss citizen of whom you are a family member must be engaged in one or more of these activities in order for you to qualify for a residence card under their EU Treaty Rights.".

If either of you become a drain on the public purse, his resident card can be rescinded.

Poland, do not mirror the insane immigration policies of our foolish leaders here in the west.

Some fun facts about african immigration.

My country experienced-

- A 400% increase in HIV, thanks to mass immigration from sub saharan africa.
- Africans 1300% more likely to be on welfare.
- Africans 1000% more likely to commit crime, compared to the natives.

I could go on.

Aha, didn't know that.

EDIT- I am too tired but it seems that the speaker recommends that the UK opt out, not that they have actually opted out. I am tired, though. So I could be wrong.

then he'll be free to be in the UK on the same terms as you

Wrong.

(5)The right of all Union citizens to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States should, if it is to be exercised under objective conditions of freedom and dignity, be also granted to their family members, irrespective of nationality. For the purposes of this Directive, the definition of 'family member' should also include the registered partner if the legislation of the host Member State treats registered partnership as equivalent to marriage.

(6)In order to maintain the unity of the family in a broader sense and without prejudice to the prohibition of discrimination on grounds of nationality, the situation of those persons who are not included in the definition of family members under this Directive, and who therefore do not enjoy an automatic right of entry and residence in the host Member State, should be examined by the host Member State on the basis of its own national legis-lation, in order to decide whether entry and residence could be granted to such persons, taking into consideration their relationship with the Union citizen or any other circumstances, such as their financial or physical dependence on the Union citizen.

Off-Topic / CEE - Central European Empire [49]

I am starting to believe that Crow may well be right in his predictions. Western europe is finito. Maybe one day I will head to Poland as a refugee.

That might sound strange, but due to mass immigration from the hostile 3rd world, it may well happen.

Il ponder it over my cornflakes.

News / The EU's 1 Trillion Dollar Rescue Package [144]

The fact that there are jokes actually questioning the intelligence of Poles is beyond me, we have done an admirable job recreating the nation from nothing in comparison to many of these countries.

Circa 3 million(nearly one tenth of your population) left in the last five years.

Good job, me hole.

News / The EU's 1 Trillion Dollar Rescue Package [144]

Which is the entire point of the EU, so that people don't see themselves as paying for Italians, or Germans, or whatever - they pay for Europeans.

It is one of the first times that the average German and French taxpayer realises that they are expected to fund the whole show when things turn sour. When the average French worker starts to get undercut by cheap labour droids from eastern europe and his short working week and long holidays are under threat, we will see just how "good europeans" the French actually are.

Now we must hope for Turkish and Serbian accession. That should bring down the house of cards.

UK, Ireland / I have concerns over the British immigration policy so I wrote to my MP. [126]

And partly as a result of her rubbish response, I didn't vote for her yesterday and contributed to her getting kicked out !

Hooray ! I'm so pleased !

Fair play, Mister H. I think you should inform the former Labour PM of the reasons why you did not vote for her.

She will have plenty of time on her hands now, so she might be able to give a decent response. ;)
