UK, Ireland / Polonization of Britain - Tipping Point Confirmed in 2011 Census [97]

Agreed. His politics were closer to Mussolini

LOL ! You mean the buddy of Sikorski and a lawyer of Tusk junior is some kind of Mussolini's copy :)? Isn't it lovely how you pinks put nazi/fascist face to Poland :)) Actually, majority of EU countries have more radical people in mainstream politics, France, Holland, Austria, nearly all of "old" EU, so spare us your "wisdom" :))

BTW Giertych was just trying to make a creer on the back of naive pensioners, that should already be clear to everyone.

News / Repost: Heya ad about communism in Poland [36]

but only one tried to destroy whole nations, including Poland.

Yeah, because If the reds won in 1920, they would have just hugged some trees and come back where they came from :)) The Lenin ad was a copy of global "communism is cool" trend, many people didn't find it so cool, the company learn the lesson, end of topic really.

UK, Ireland / Changing Polish Documents - Moving from Poland to UK [11]

She doesn't have to go back to Poland to get her name changed on her ID

You mean dowód ? I've never heard about people getting them issued once abroad... my understanding is that Polish citizens are not really required to have them once living abroad... at least I've never seen or heard about dowód with foreign adress on it...

Life / The unacceptable side of Polish culture [48]

Which is more stupid, the OP or the responses it got?

Forgive me, I was slightly drunk when writing that :)))

Two weeks ago I was the victim of an attempted robbery, driving on foreign plates - so a gang thought I was rich....

Wow, they got a lot of luck thought, after all you might get angry and feck them all up into pieces :)))

I am British and i am calling a relatively large percentage of Poles out as cowards.

Yes, pink brave man, it's what we've been know for across the whole world :))))

He's just still under the shock about witnessing that, hey it was just a few hours ago. Give him a break. I probably would be equally shocked to witness it.

Come on, just look at the crap guy is writing here, some folk stories about his grandma, overall immature masturbation and all of the rest, more likely dude got pushed and humiliated by some drunk kids, run away and now he's healing his wounded "pride" with this pathetic "I'm a tough guy" stories.

UK, Ireland / Changing Polish Documents - Moving from Poland to UK [11]

to me it feels there are many un-necessary bureaucracies in Poland.

Sure there are, however I think in case of personal identification documents, authorities should be careful, sending it via mail or something wouldn't be a good idea...

My wife-to-be will be moving to England next year to live with me.

So she will move to the UK and get married there ? I'm sure that a new passport can be delivered through the consulate... there might be some issues with producing a Polish marriage certificate (which I believe will be needed) but it probably also can be done without visiting Poland... ID card ? Never heard about it being issued abroad... when I was getting a new one 2 years ago, I had to visit a city hall, sign the papers and visit again 2 or 3 weeks later to get the new card... however, If she's going to live outside of Poland, why would she really need it ? Generally, with 10 billion Poles living in the UK and elsewhere in the world, there must be thousands of similar cases each year... and I don't believe these people come back to Poland each time... she should figure out how it works, check the websites of the institutions... call them if needed etc.

But it is not Tusk`s fault that small business has to struggle. it is red tape which is like a hydra

Yes, of course, nobody denies it. But such things happened with PiS and others in power too. It happens all over the world.

Priceless :)) 20 more years for Tusk and then Amber Michałek will replace daddy :))

You mean he told a kid that Adolf was a good guy ?

History / Ukrainian-occupied Eastern Poland [135]

Poland has huge internal problems, territorial disputes are the last thing we need now, besides population "transfers" were done so long ago that it is basically impossible to take it all back, however Lwów had been undoubtedly a Polish city for at least +400 years before 1945, It was simply stolen by dirty soviets, myths they created that It was an Ukrainian city and therefore should have belonged to the Soviet Union were disgusting dragon tales, just like stories about Poland making such a great business on post WW2 border shifts.

News / Failures of Poland and Tusk`s government [191]

One of them is professor Rybiński who regularly predicts economic disaster but seldom is right.

Krzysztof Rybiński is a very smart guy, check his bio, he became a chief economist at ING being 30 years old and a vice chairman of NBP at the age of 37, just some of his many achievements... Poland would have been a much better place If people like him were in charge.

He's seldom right ? Imagine a group of teenagers, all of the rest are smoking stuff (including Tusk and his buddies, he really did by the way...) while one is screaming (that's Rybiński) that they should give it up or otherwise they will become drug addicts... they laugh at him, some years later It turns out that they were lucky, gave up pot before it was too late... what does it tell you ? That smoking pot is good and not dangerous at all ?

Poland has been running totally irresponsible economic policy for years, Rybiński (and many other economists, including Balcerowicz) has been criticizing it and rightly so, a fact that we have managed to keep our heads slightly over s*hyt level doesn't prove him wrong, sooner or later our luck will run out, besides even If we again mange not to drawn into **** in 2013, growing debt, growing tax burden, huge administration, corruption etc. are keeping us much below our real potential.

Rybiński is a kind of whistle blower, he's not making any money on it or any other benefits, the guy is right on so many things that all the decent people should support him and create the pressure on the bunch of imbeciles, psychos, thieves and traitors that our "political class" is made of.

News / Failures of Poland and Tusk`s government [191]

I've got to hand it to them, though - I don't think the world has yet seen a country that can raise taxes, rack up debt like there's no tomorrow and do it when the economy is GROWING. And maintain popularity among the electorate! Insanity!

What else one can expect when all the mainstream media, celebrities, "intelectualists" and all this mess do nothing else than attack the main opposition party :))) That's Polish "democracy" :)) Recently I heard some elderly guy saying that Tusk within a few years managed to brainwash Poles more than communists over the decades, unfortunately he's probably right. Welcome to lemings' Poland :))

The funniest thing is Tusk starting to bring up "let's join Euro zone soon" issue again, If he again manage to brainwash all this plebs, I will give up my citizneship and become a stateless person.

Life / Why do people think that Poles are culturally isolated? [126]

Every Pole knows that. The problem is how to do it. It's very easy to give such pieces of advice, and very annoying knowing one has just discovered America in cans, as we say it

That's the very basic stuff, I know, I brought it up only to show ifor guy that I do agree with some of his points but I have no clue how is that related to the main topic... Ant guy says Poles have bad press because there's poverty in Poland and so on... Really, does an average guy in Europe cares so much about Polish internal issues and has a negative image of Poles becasue there are serious problems with corruption or burocracy in Poland ? I doubt it. Are Italians not liked because mismanagement and corruption they have in Italy ? I didn't notice that really.

Have you been born in Poland?

Yes.

Why are you comparing Poland with these countries?

It all started with ant guy saying Poles have bad press because of poverty in Poland, homeless people and so on, I said I don't think so, because then Indians would have far worse press and I don't see it happening, that's it.

Come on, It's almost Christmass :)))

Life / Why do people think that Poles are culturally isolated? [126]

1. Greg you are looking for something thats not really there. Its you that is bringing up the crimes

It doesn't matter to me if Poland is rich or poor.

Double lol, man have mercy, everyone who has followed this thread can clearly see that YOU brought up both issues and as you claimed that 's somehow why Poles have "bad press" :)))

But in another thread you said Poland was rich.

Nonsense. I've been fighting "Poland is rich" crowd for years here, ironically they often are westerners.

Life / Why do people think that Poles are culturally isolated? [126]

Spend money on sensible projects that will give people work

Either central gov or regional/local authorities are not to provide jobs, they should be creating good environment for the growth of private sector... about your other points:

Cut the massive bureaucracy

Put a stop to corruption.

Yeah, exactly.
1. Reduce bureaucracy and make the law simple, without thousands of exceptions and contrary interpretations.
2. Reduce corruption from nearly "African" to at least avg European level.
3. Start reforming this country instead of counting only on "foreign investors" and "EU funds".
4. Create good opportunities for domestic small & medium companies instead of counting only on "foreign investors" and "EU funds".
5. Improve the justic system as right now it is a total mess.
6. Spend the public money wisely, thnik twice If it makes sense before you spent even 1PLN.

That is a very short summary of what should be done in Poland, however It is not "Your ideas how to improve Polish 3rd Republic" thread, this is basically (zeti please correct me If I'm wrong) "Why the hell 'westerners' have so negative opinion about Poles" thread and then ant guy shows up and claims that's becasue Poland is poor, many buildings are almost collapsing etc., well so I ask him what does he (or you) think about Indians or Pakistanis as their countries are far poor than Poland.

Life / Why do people think that Poles are culturally isolated? [126]

Do you really believe the powers that be in Poland and Szczecin really care about the conditions people live in in places such as these?

So what in your opinion should be done, what authorities of a city, where industrial base basically disappeared in the last several years should do ? Spent half of the budget on revitalization of 2 small, peripherial districts ?

Again, you seem to be pushing the idea that poor in Poland are forgotten, neglected etc. That's not the case, there's simply so many of them that one can't really help them unless the whole country moves forward.

Poland is poor, so our poor are really poor, just like our middle class is poorer than working class in many western countries, that's the reality in poor countries. If you still don't agree, please clearly explain your point. Thanks in advance.

Life / Why do people think that Poles are culturally isolated? [126]

Relative to the UK is was cheap 1800 zlt compared to a minimum of £1000 in the UK.

OK... and ?

Life on the ground is not comparable to the statistics.

OK, so you have no clue what GINI index is, not surprising really :))) It is an indocator presenting income inequality and for Poland its value is quite similar to that of UK or average in the EU, people in Poland are simply poorer in general, so our poor are poorer than your poor, quite logical, isn't it ? So please point out what is your problem with poverty in Poland ? I thought you attack it from far left "they don't care about their poor" position. If that's a case, you are simply wrong.

Shows you if things go tits up in Poland you are not far from the street.

All Poles know it much better than you... and... ?

You are kidding me aren't you?

No I'm not :))))

Just type in Polish in the BBC news web site search box and see for yourself.

Fascinating that you present anti-Polish bias of your media as some kind of evidence that there's something wrong with Poles :)) Why don't you check the statistics your police is collecting on crimes commited by Poles and compare it to the number of Poles in the UK and then do the same for the British population/number of crimes they commit ? It should take no more than few minutes and you would ultimately prove that Poles commit so many terrible crimes :))) Just go for it :))

I did expect more but not in the context you are thinking.

So in which context ? You still haven't made that clear.

So in Poznan you have these huge, beautiful buildings, that are sadly in a terrible state of repair. Some covered with nets to stop masonry falling on peoples heads. Its tragic to see this kind of Heritage neglect. Quite a few apartments that I visited in buildings in a better state of repair on the exterior looked untouched on the inside since the 50's.

Ok so we have cold kitchens, stinking closets and now neglected buildings... yes... and... ?

A lot of people are poor in Poland. You know that.

Yes, I know it much better than you... And what the hell is your point I'm asking.

You keep rising 2 issues.

1. Poles commit terrible crimes -> which is not really true when you compare it with other nationalities.
2. Poles are poor -> yes, this is true... and ?? As I said before, I wonder what you think about Inidans or Pakistanis then as majority of them are far poorer than typical Poles.
