Life / Is Poland a safe country for people of color? [241]

Hehehe, coming from the land of serial killers ;) ;)

I feel much safer in Poland than I would in most big cities in America. I want to see Miami one day and I'd need to watch my back. Not to mention Washington DC. Isn't it dubbed the murder capital of the world? Worse than Scotland's Glasgow.

Life / Do expats living in Poland speak Polish? [233]

Most Poles I meet say I speak it very well but I think I still have some way to go. I have more than enough to converse quite freely so that's good enough for me.

Love / Insultive opinions about Polish girls... [139]

It's best policy to be mature and discuss budgeting with your better half. That's what I do. Without this sense of realism, you always run the risk of losing sight of your purchases and even lapsing into credit card mania, spending invisible and possibly non-existent money. She knows that I'll never be rich but she was happy with the 6000PLN I earned pre-crisis. I never got the feeling that there was any gold digging at all. It's just men's egos that make them think that they are sniffing after the money. Now that I'm down to only 3600PLN gross, she is still very much with me.

Patience is a virtue and is very much needed in a relationship. I'm due to get extra classes which will take me up a thousand a month but that hardly interests her or I. Time will tell if I can secure more classes or proofreading. We are both prepared to wait as we love each other. Money is the root of evil and it won't separate us.

Oh, one insult. She doesn't like much of my music so she's dumb ;) ;) ;)

Joe Satriani with Driving at Night. This would be an amazing song to be mellowed out to. I remember my morphine experience and this would be heaven.

Love / Scottish & Polish relationships [229]

A Bhoy is a Celtic fan. Subconsciously, you have established a Scottish-Polish relationship. I've met many Poles who like Celtic, largely because of Boruc.

Love / Scottish & Polish relationships [229]

Not all Scottish girls are ginger. In fact, very few have ginger hair. Gibbering again, trotter ;0 ;)

A soldier, a Polish man would love that :) Wrestle him to the ground and show him your moves :)

Love / Are all Polish men Psychos? [111]

My wife was beside me all the time, McCoy. I asked her if she wanted to watch a film or do sth special but she was exhausted after the day's events. I also wanted to drink more but I was in amongst non-drinking people at the wedding party.

Oh, no psychos were present ;) ;) ;)

Simplicity is genius, SP :)

Thanks, McCoy :)

Love / Men and Women from Eastern Poland [37]

So, in conclusion, some parts are nice and some aren't. Life can really be made simple at times, can't it? Sometimes it can, sometimes it can't. Hmm...stop.

Which towns, SwedishPole? They look pot ugly and dreary to most people. Of the above, only Augustów really holds any appeal.

More than 50%, I doubt that.

Well, the air is cleaner in the East for sure. Pollution is a major problem here.

Love / Insultive opinions about Polish girls... [139]

Absolutely right, torny. I think that's a study in itself, the factors which determine why many Poles see things in this way. I could easily make the case that Scotland has contributed MUCH more to the modern world than Poland but why would I feel the need to do that? We are just different and we have to share in our global contributions through exporting, for example.

When I hear 'we are better' from little snotty-nosed Polish girls, it actually makes me grin. It's an ingrained message largely devoid of substance.

History / The Celts in Poland. [71]

The difference being that they are much more temperamental than us. Scottish Highlanders are less raw and more easy to access.

There could be a relationship here, though, as hospitality is very much in the blood of both.

There are many bezosobowości types here, devoid of personality. I can imagine shagging a sack of potatoes to more interactive. The humphs and grumphs are comical.

Look around you, half of these people are not 'working' at all. They are either moaning or, failing that, blowing gas.

Yeah, cash is used in a very evil way but the same is true of people in the oil business in Scotland. The type of cnuts that wear sunglasses in winter and bully you off the road with their big fcuk-off motors.

Thankfully, the oompa-loompa bisto brigade are not common here :)

Territorial feckers! There's no call for that.

It's the same as shops, dnz. Trams and shops, the same idea. Older women are the worst offenders, I have to use my elbows to keep them at bay.

On the last point, I agree. They just fall well short of the standards that I am accustomed to but I choose to live here so I get on with it. Ignorance is bliss, esp after half a bottle of Old Krupnik.

Mrs Sheep is, as of yet, untested. Largely because I've placed them out of range :)

Many here have sharp tongues and can lock horns rather quickly.

My Polish wife was insulted by a young English twat. He wanted her to give him a BJ and expected her to comply. This was 3.5 years back. I would have clobbered him for saying that. In fact, it was the girls that treated her worse, the so-called ladettes. They got quite hostile towards her and that scared her a bit. She found young Scots to be much more accommodating than their English counterparts.

I thought poles were inanimate objects ;) ;) Just kidding! In what way were they stuck up, dnz? Many old Poles are atrocious but that's for another thread.

I maintain that quite a few have the Princess Syndrome, the ones that I have seen. Still, I prefer to see the ones that I alluded to above, those with positive traits.

Gold diggers can be found in any nation. The point was made so eloquently by SwedishPole that nobody can have met enough Polish women and been with them enough to form a rounded opinion. They dress quite conservatively in Gliwice so I'm not gonna make comments as to how they dress elsewhere as I have no right.

Some guys just need to grow up and get a life. They should count themselves lucky that they have highly domesticated, attractive and tasteful women who can kick some butt and activate them.

History / Weapons of WWII (Poland and other countries) [239]

We don't want to see the weapons of WWIII, Timotei ;) Europe as a superpower, no thanks. Merkel, Brown and esp Sarkozy don't need any more power trips.

Let's stick to the discussion of WWII weapons and hope for a better future without warmongers.

History / Weapons of WWII (Poland and other countries) [239]

Even close people here didn't get an invite because she wanted to keep it in the family. Still, I will definitely give you a shout if you plan to be in Wrocław for some time more. Any plans to go to Canada or...?

Anyway, what made you write a thread like this one? Pretty good choice. Many focus on strategy and the actual battles but forget the technical spec of the weapons and the various ways they can be used. I'm pretty amateurish when it comes to these things but I guess that SLR's were employed a fair bit. They are interesting weapons. SUSAT sighting was great technology for its time.

It's his thread so I'm sure he'll steer it back on course if he knows that sb has the knowledge to discuss it with him.

Were Raytheon and Lockheed Martin active back then?

Scrappy, why can't you discuss the thread items properly? Weapons of WWII, any thoughts? Lord Only Knows, America supplied many of them through their arms firms. Care to discuss that!?

Thanks, southern. Scrappy, where can you see my stomach? You can't.
