Life / Why do you choose to stay in Poland, why not other country? [152]

1. Find job which is suitable for you.

I suspect there may be a lot of reasons right there. A large number of Anglo foreigners would have to actually learn to do something instead of relying only on what came to them without much effort in the first place, i.e. speaking their own native tongue.

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

Poles don't start school until 7 years of age. in the US we start first grade at age 6. in Poland once you finish grade school , you are not required to continue your education. In US you are required to attend 4 more years of high school. Maybe they just jelous that we have more education than they do.

In Poland education is compulsory until the age of 18, i.e. about 5 years after the grade school. So your statements are a lie, or simply uneducated guesses based on whatever you pull out of your rear end.

In parts of the US kids do not to have to attend any schools at all. Average American kids are below the academic levels and achievements by their European counterparts.

Literacy rate in Poland (99.8%) is higher than in the US (99%).

History / WAS KATYŃ GENOCIDE? Polish officers were killed [237]

Right, but Poles were not targeted by the Soviets for extermination, just a particular class of Poles.

According to several sources, one of the effects of this conference was the German ''Ausserordentliche Befriedungsaktion (see: German AB Action operation in Poland) and the Soviet Katyn massacre (a number of historians, including Norman Davies, claim that these two events were carried out cooperatively). AB-Aktion or Außerordentliche Befriedungsaktion ( German for Special Pacificational Action or Operation) was a German campaign during Ivor Norman Richard Davies Fellow of the British Academy (born 8 June 1939 to Richard and Elizabeth Davies Also, both sides agreed in the final protocol that the Polish nation should be completely moved out by the year 1975, either by mass murders or by deportations to remote areas of Siberia (by that year, 95% of the Poles still alive were going to be deported to the shores of the Jana river, located in northern Siberia, about two thousand miles north of Vladivostok).

Katyn was a part of the full extermination of the Polish nation.

Off-Topic / Europe according to Poles and other European nations [44]

As for Katyń, perhaps the most accurate although the tragic irony is that I can't find Katyń even on highly detailed maps.

go to maps.google.com

and paste this into the search box:

Russian Federation, Province of Smolensk, Smolenskiy rayon, Katyn

UK, Ireland / Brits to protest against foreigners in the workforce, including Poles. [289]

Lets say you are correct, how do you propose to increase productivity without migration?

I don't think the issue is with productivity. Whatever manufacturing is left within the Western countries has to be actually slowed down as the number of buyers dwindle. The problem is too much work force as compared to available jobs. Immigration won't solve that.

I see multiculturism used as an insult

Multiculturalism is a mirage. It doesn't work and it either destroys cultures, or continues to keep them separate but within smaller geographic areas.

investment in education? stimulation for emerging industries that produce stuff that the world wants?

Education was the promise in 1980-90's. Well, right now it is obvious that this was another mirage. Every kind of job can be exported, and eventually will be exported.

And then there is this stimulation.
Of what? There are no industries in the West anymore. Nothing is being manufactured anymore. Where will the money come from to pay for the stimuli, education etc.

Sorry, but the picture is not looking good at all and migration won't help. If anything, it will cause mass riots and blood shed as patience is running out on both side, the hosts and immigrants, and as neither is in a position to have any real hope.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

place the emphasis on the employer and problem solved.

Depends on whoch problem you have in mind. In fact that's exactly what they did in the US. Thus employers enjoy cheap labor.

News / Polish Priest checks fingerprints for mass attendance [26]

Polish Priest checks fingerprints for mass attendance

I think this is a positive development for those destined for Heaven, and it is a proof evolution works. God evolved and they are installing a computer system run by Heaven's Gate 1.0 Operating System. St. Peter is being trained on the print scanners and once everything is in place the time spent in the Purgatory will be greatly reduced. It is obvious that the long wait times were due solely to the bureaucratic and administrative backlogs.

Only sinners will not like what's happening, as their time in the Purgatory will be reduced and they will be sent to Hell by the All Loving God much quicker.

USA, Canada / Do you speak English? Have you lived in America? New LOVE/HATE list......... [144]

OK, here's my $0.03 (adjusted for inflation):

Background:
5 years of living in the US plus about 4 years of full time work in the US while living in Canada.
25 years in Poland. Native Pole.
Speak both language well enough to correct native speakers in either country, but also committing errors in both, that still can make me blush.

Opinion about the 2 countries:

The US: nothing that makes it uninhabitable. Mostly little things are annoying. Ones that make it similar to the USSR, and to Poland for that matter.

Poland:
See my comment on the US, and reverse the comparisons.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

Commies had no political ramifications their weird oligarchies did whatever they wanted decade after decade. Banks have been bailed out but freedom of the press, freedom to assemble, freedom to vote hasn't been infringed upon.

US banks had been ravaging the US for over 25 years before Poles even go the taste of communism. And the US press is still silent on the issue of a private corporation which, de facto, and illegally, controlling the US currency, economy in reality the lives of 300+M Americans, possibly a couple of B of people around the globe.

Yeah, and die of depredation in the desert! Sure you could hire a coyote(smuggler) to get you across the border but whos to say they just dont take your money and shoot you?

Some 20 million went through. What's another 10? The US politicians will simply create more jobs. They did last month. All of 5000 in a nation of 300,000!!!!

Its so nice of you to encourage Poles to break our laws and risk dying,,good job!!!
You make it sound so easy

What laws? The approx. 20 million illegals in the US are facing the danger of.... full US residency status.

Oh, and I don't need a visa to the US, so why would I even try that?

Yeah and have a border patrolmen's German Shepherd take a hunk out of your a.ss.

I saw that movie too.

you are kidding? tell me you are kidding !

Actually I am.
I really see no reason to go to the US, with or without a visa.

UK, Ireland / Recently beaten up in England by 3 Polish guys [93]

I thought that was both illegal and very much un-British. Isn't that also illegal to try and talk people into committing a crime?
But then, you certainly have proven to have a gangster's mentality.

the napsterThrea

Sorry to hear about this happen. Get well soon.
I hope the police can locate the bandits and punish them accordingly.

USA, Canada / REFUSED A HOLIDAY VISA TO THE U.S CAUSE IM POLISH [323]

Wouldn't it make sense to monitor incoming and outgoing travelers?

It would, but for practical purposes the US does not have borders.
I wonder why some (including Poles) even bother with trying to get a US visa. Just cross via one of the many cozy spots in Texas, Arizon and the like.

Life / You are Polish if... [433]

Yes I have seen " floaters ".... DISGUSTING, I must say.

This is the sure sign Polish cuisine became Americanized. Too much fat make sh.it float. Good Polish sh.it sinks and it is thus superior to American sh.it.

Are you sure this were Polish pieces of crap? (I don't mean to doubt your expertise in the subject requiring a lot of intimate experience)

Law / Prawo autorskie - copyright / trademark of a business name in Poland [18]

One thing you may consider is that a word or phrase is automatically copyrighted the moment you create it. Some conditions apply though. A common word will not be automatically copyrighted, and neither can you copyright so called prior art. You could eventually turn a copyrighted woird or slogan into a trade mark.

Now, I am not a lawyer but I was involved in a few cases and hence I know a little bit. Your best bet is still a chat with a trademark/copyright lawyer.

Law / Prawo autorskie - copyright / trademark of a business name in Poland [18]

It all depends on the definition of "huge financial" investment. If you want to run a business to plow snow for 3 customers every Winter then $5,000+ kinda much indeed. For many business start-ups the $5,000 would be peanuts.

Other than that it is a catch-22. The problem is that if a trade name is used by the "owner" without the TM sign next to it then any future attempts to defend it as a trademark might be really (I mean really) hugely expensive. So if you don't get hit in the beginning you may be hit even more in the future.

Law / Prawo autorskie - copyright / trademark of a business name in Poland [18]

A trademark or a registered trademark can be extremely expensive - especially if you want worldwide protection. Not worth it, IMHO.

If the business is successful, the loss of trademark would be much more expensive than registering its trademark.

Law / Prawo autorskie - copyright / trademark of a business name in Poland [18]

I would like some information about copyrighting a business name, as I plan on the possibility of franchising in the future.

You might want to look into Trademark law instead. Copyrights eventually expire, while trademarks may be held perpetually.

I'll try to be as gentle as the circumstance allows.

I thought it was not possible to go straight across a roundabout. That's why it's called a roundabout. It's round. Am I missing something?
