Russian Slavs

Did you know that one version asserts that the term Slav was derived from the Latin sclavus (slave). It fits the Russians' under-the-boot mentality of extreme fear of and blind obedience to the violent coercion of those in power to a T.

There's a Polish saying that points that up, whilst also alluding to the Poles' penchant for anarchy:
Musi to na Rusi, w Polszcze jak kto chce.

free children of nature

That's a nice romantic fairy tale, in fact the Russians are a nation of serfs abd slaves who have always been under the boot of Ivan the Territble, Peter the Great Tyrant, assorted Lenins, Stalins and now Putin. They have never experienced freedom or democracy. Hopefully, one day NATO will have to organise training seminars to teach them about it. Attendance will be mandatory for all Russians, and US GIs will be on hadn to enforce it.

that great country

Muscovy, later Russia, the USSR, now the Rusian Federation has always been an Evil Empire and the prison of nations. Evil tsars conquered and subjugated countless nations and the Soviet scum continued that tradition. That Mongol-Byzantine-Cyrillic land is no match for the US, never was and never will be. Only the turkified south Slavs of Serbia see them as an ally, to all others they are one of the world's main security threats. When they return Crimea to Ukraine, pull out of Donbas and provide Ukriane with financial compensation for their aggression, then some dialogue may be possible. But since they never keep their word discussioin partners should remain on guard the whole time.

Life / The Polish Mustache: Facial Hair Past Its Prime [5]

facial hair of Slavic yesteryear no longer has a place

That is no logner the case. Seems like half the men shown on Polish TV these days have beards and moustaches.
About hairless, bald as a cueball commie-era "iron" PM Józef Cyrankiewicz it was said he always put on a tie when going to bed. So his wife could distinguish his face from his a*se.

war in the Ukraine

A cousin of mine from Michigan emailed:
Waddyathink of U.S. troops on Polish soil provoking Putin?

My reply: All he can do is channel his impotent rage into some frustrated, futule rhetoric and saber-rattling. Even when Poland and others joined NATO he wouldn't dare invade, but now with GI boots and hardware on the ground he's scared sh*tless and distressed that his neo-imeprials plans will come to naught. But he's not idiot enough to unleash a nuclear war knowing that would be the end of Russia if not mankind as a whole.

Never in the past millennium has Poland felt this safe and secure. When he annexed Crimea, NATO should have emergency-wise accepted Ukraine into its ranks. That might not have restored Crimea, although it would have provided considerable leverage and certainly would have prevented his crypto-invasion and separatist rebellion in Donbas.

How's Libia

FYI US Special Operations forces are providing direct, on-the-ground support for the first time to fighters battling the Islamic State in Libya, U.S. and Libyan officials said, coordinating American airstrikes and providing intelligence information in an effort to oust the group from a militant stronghold. Sure, a mean-spirited nit-picker can point out this blunder or that shortcoming, but those are exceptions that prove the rule.

No-one is aaying Ameircan freedom-fighters never slip up, but only those who do nothing never make mistakes. On balance, however, the US has always stood for freedom and demcoracy world-wide.

do crimes to fight crime

What have you been smoking?! Never heard of fighting fire with fire. Only wimpy PC-infected Europeans cringe at the thought of possibly offending the sensibilties of towelhead terrorists and their flakey pseudo-religion and allow more and more mosques to be built and used as ISIS recrjuiting staitons and terrorist cells.

The Home of the Brave and Land of the Free is the world's gendarme ready to help out wherever freedom is threatened. Trump may well blast the self-styled Islamic State off the face of hte earth. Amen.

humans learn nothing

But they have. People were bamboozled long enough by the slick but deceitful propaganda of snobbish leftist-liberal elites looking after only their own selfish interests. There is a world-wide trend towards more people-friendly governments who take pains to more fairly extend opportunities and benefits to the hitherto ignored and neglected segmetns of society. Putin does not belong here, because he is part of the same type of oligarchy represented by the Clintonesque and Tuslkite crooks and scam artists. The only difference is that Russians have no democratic elections to vote the bastards out of office.

USA's war crimes

As the world's arsenal of democracy, the US have had to resort to radical means when confronting the heinous crimes of the Evil Empire and the ongoing terrorist threat. The wimpy Europeans are still catering to towelhead terrorists with their PC niceties all leading to the downfall of Europe.

Poles who oppose to NATO?

There are maybe .002% of Poles opposed to NATO, a tiny fraction of a lunatic fringe probbaly on Putin's payroll like the Zmiana Party. For Poland NATO is a true godsend, an iron-clad security guarantee like nothing before it for the duraiton of the past millennium. So wisen up, Crow, get off your NATO-bashing quirk and be more critical of your genocidal, blood-stained compatriots!

Are you drunk

No, but you are blinded or blinkered if you do not realise that NATO are the 21st centrury's knigths in shining armour, the dedicated, selfless defenders of peace, freeedom and democracy for all! You've got no right to criticise coming as you do from a country whose poltical leaders are either fugitives from jsutice or war criminals languishing in foreign prisons.

aggressive and provoking move

You sound like NAZ'TO-bashing Crow! In your books Russia's Anschluß of Crimea in flagrant violation of its nuclealr treaty with Ukraine was not a provocaiton? Buzzing NATO warships enagaged in exercises in international Baltic waters was not a provocation. The effective annexation and creation of artificial countries in Donbas and Georgia was not a provocaton, nor banging on about the poor allegedly mistreated Russian minority in Estonia?

The American/NATO military presence in and around Poland is the greatest thing that ever happened to this country. Never in history has Poland been this secure.

Thousands of US and Allied troops have been rolling into Poland in what is Europe's biggest such military build-up since the end of the cold war. Code-anmed Atlantic Resolve, this large scale deterrent to Russia's aggressive activities and bellicose posturing is bringing together NATO troops from the US, Canada. Britain, Germany and Romania. The operation is headquartered in Poland from where battalions will be despatched to the Baltic states and various Polish locations.

In Warsaw concern has been raised by certain statements of President-Elect Donald Trump who has repeatedly indicated he wants to cooperate with Putin in solving different international issues. If the Russian leader agrees but only on condition that NATO troops and hardware are rolled away from the Russian border, how will Trump respond?

News / An article: NATO is the American occupation of Poland and Europe, by Mateusz Piskorski [233]

keep Putin out of the EU

There would have been no Putin and probably no USSR if Truman had listened to Gen. Patton who wanted to keep moving east to roll the Rooskies back to where they came from. That could have restored Poland's pre-war border in the east with possible compensation at Germany's expense in the west as damages for Nazi crimes. In fact, a sane-thinking US leadership would have seen the potential threat posed by the Soviets and created a Polish-ruled buffer zone to the east of II RP, roughly corrrepsonding to Poland-Lithuania before the first partition. The Russia beyond that demarcation line should have been additionally disintegrated and weakened by heavily bankrolled covert CIA operations to stir up ethnic, national and religious minorities against Russian dominance.

Language / I was born in Poland and I cannot pronounce 'CZ' [35]

"Ć" is much harder than "CZ"

A lot depends on where in the US the speaker is from. In much of the midwest the English ch-sound in check, Chet (short for Chester/Czesław), change is closer to the Polish ć than the cz and comes out sounding something like ciek, ciet, ciejndź rather than czek, Czet or czejndż. In NY, however, some English speakers may have a problem with ć.

The same holds true for sz/ś and ż/ź. Shopping centre sounds a lot like siapyń sener. German shepherd is closer to dziyrmyn sieperd than to dżyrmyn szeperd.

ilegally passing through EU broder

The mistake made by receiving countries was to allow anonymous, document-less individuals into the EU. Many refugees/migrants deliberately discarded documents thinking that would facilitate their quest. The EU or individual EU countries should have turned back undocumented travellers at the border. Only those with legitimate travel documents inlcuding fingerprints and ideally DNA indication would qualify for further vetting, not automatic entry.

what the word 'any' means

Does "any" include terrorists posing as asylum-seekers, does it require states to open their borders to limitless invading refugee hordes and not require them to obey the law, work for a living and pay taxes but live on taxpayer-funded benefits?

How about the exact quotes relevant to those issues? Referring people to some Art. 67, paragraph 12, subpoints a,b and x is for the birds.

News / Berlin terrorist attack -- Poland's ethnic homogeneity a true blessing [436]

headline in liberal paper

This guy really isn't worth debating with because all he wants to do is latch on to some tiny technicality and obsessively ride the hell out of it. Like saying Poland is not a Catholic country because only 30% of 40% attend mass every single Sunday. The whole world knows Merkel has provided the main inspiration for the the Muslim invasion saying (in September 2015) that Germany could take 800,000 in that year alone. "We can do it!" was the punch line understood by all and sundry as an effective invitation. But the master baiter demands an eplicit quote such as: "I, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, hereby invite Middle Eastern and African refugees to Germany."

In the past I have stupidly allowed myself to be baited by his nonsensical statements, obsessions and provocations and now am firmly convinced he is best ignored. Why cater to his sick ego?!

Merged: Pośmiemy się z KODerastów!

Szkoła w mieście powiatowym. Nauczycielka, radna PO pyta uczniów:
- Drogie dzieci, kto z Was popiera KOD?
Wszyscy oprócz Jasia podnoszą rękę.
- A Ty Jasiu dlaczego nie podniosłeś ręki?
- Bo ja jestem Narodowcem - odpowiada Jasiu.
- Dlaczego?
- Bo moja mama jest Narodowcem, mój tata jest Narodowcem, rodzeństwo ma poglądy narodowe. No to ja też!
- Ależ Jasiu - odpowiada Pani - przecież nie należy zawsze brać przykładu z rodziny. A gdyby np. Twoja mama była komunistką, tata złodziejem a brat homoseksualistą to co wtedy?

- To wtedy pewnie bym popierał KOD!

News / Polish Wigilia on UNESCO's world heritage list? [30]

tradition collapses

That's an intersting question. When a traditon goes out of style and is no longer practised it would depend on the UNESCO authorities what to do. They could delist it or, more pobably, leave it as a memento of bygone days and possibly indicate that it has become obsolete.

News / Polish Wigilia on UNESCO's world heritage list? [30]

Professor Jarosław Dumanowski of Toruń University has appealed to UNESCO to include Poland's Wigilia on their World Heritage List. The list includes unique or culturally significant traditions, customs, dances, arts, crafts and other manifestations of national identity.

The Polish Christmas Eve tradition involves extensive preprations in the family circle (restaurant-hopping is extremely rare on Wigilia), specific customs reflecting extensive symbolism: traditional once-a-year dishes, hay on the table-top, extra place at table, the sharing of opłatek symbolising love and reconciliaiton, family carol singing, Midnight Mass all permeated by much age-old lore and legend.

no place for politics

The magic moment of the first star in the sky is approaching. Wigilia is no time for politics. It is a time for love, forgivenes, reconcilaiton, peace and goodwill to men. The government has extended their hand in dialogue and reconcilation. If the political scrooges occupying the Sejm choose to reject it, that only shows they regard Poland's age-old heritage as something alien, something they are not part of. But that's their problem. They have made their choice.

To PFers all: MIŁYCH, RADOSNYCH, BŁOGOSŁAWIONNCH ŚWIĄT! NIECHAJ NOWO NARODZONE BOŻE DZIECIĄTKO DARZY WAS OBLIFTOSCIĄ ŁASK TERAZ I PRZEZ CAŁY NOWY 2017 ROK!

rule of law

And your defintion of the rule of law are the shenanigins in and around the Sejm accosting MPs and government officials, holding them hostage, blocking exits, shouting down and forcing MPsout of the assembly hall with those vicious rants and chants. They had no alternative but to transfer the sitting to another premise. All that is the rule of law as long as your side is doing it.

Two-faced Kopacz is an example of such hypocrisy. In 2014 she fumed: "The street is no place for politics, only the ballot box should decide!" Two years later she is calling for Poles to take to the streets, ignoring the nation's ballot-box verdict. I reckon it depends on who happens to be in power. No principles just pure hypocrisy.

PO?

Schetyna, Petru, Kopacz, Kijowski and the entire losers' associaton are acting like pouty little brats in a sand pit. "We can't get our way (i.e. re-seize power!), so we'll spite you all by forgoing Chrsitmas and staging a sit-in in the Sejm," they seem to be saying. Except that the whole Polish nation is just tapping their forehead at that pathetic display of mean-spirited ire and resentment during this holy season.
