Study / Study in Poland - is admission of the preparatory course of polish language enough for the visa? [6]

The admission for the course is enough to apply for VISA, but weather you will get it depends on subjective decision of an official. But I would suggest you to apply for a course which returns money in case VISA was not granted. For example here they say:

The fee might be returnable unless an applicant is unable to get a visa to study at the Centre (after providing a proper document proving this fact).

Study / Studying in Poland after 9th grade (for international students) [4]

Free education is for EU citizens. I think that if some school is free for Ukrainians, then it's an exception. To study in Poland, for example in those institution from your link, Matura exam is required. High schools in Poland are divided into Liceum Ogólnokształcące, Technikum and Szkoła Zawodowa. Only graduates of Szkoła Zawodowa don't attend Matura exam automatically.

As for zs2.pulawy.pl, it is organization combining 2 schools: Technikum and Szkoła Zawodowa. So as long as you choose Technikum there, and pass Matura successfully, you will be able to study in Poland.

"And what does ZESPÓ£ SZKÓ£ mean" - it means that it's few schools under one name.

Work / Relocating to Krakow on 14th June. Need some info about expenses for remaining days in June. [7]

In Bar mleczny you can buy lunch starting from 3eur, so add another 3eur for breakfast and supper. That makes 6eur per person per day as min. Make it 12eur to be more comfortable

12eur per day * 2 people * 18 = 432 eur = 1800 pln for food.

Also tip about apartments. If the price doesn't include czynsz then calculate extra fees to be around 1/3 of the advertised price.

Work / Salary and cost of living information - Krakow [257]

Internships are OK, as long as it's just for few months. The amount which I mentioned is bare minimum. Perhaps some students can survive with 1000zł net. But it doesn't mean that 2000zł net is decent salary - perhaps for intern. There was once an article in a newspaper that French woman came working in Kraków for 3000pln net, because she read that it's more than double minimum salary. Later she was surprised how many things she cannot afford, which she thought are basic, when living in France. She felt poor.

Life / Making friends in Poland - is it easy? [21]

You realize that you come to small town with small university? It's nothing like Istanbul. There are chances that you will be completely bored there. For general information about Poland read that: wikitravel.org/en/Poland

Work / Teaching at a Polish University - PHD required? or being a foreigner enough ;) [45]

With plenty of overtime and all their salary in the lowest tax bracket they don't earn that much less.

In Poland between minimum and average salary, taxation differs by ~3% points only. It's not so high tax free amount which would make a person earning minimum wage nearly not to pay any tax, as it is in UK.

Work / Teaching at a Polish University - PHD required? or being a foreigner enough ;) [45]

Private schools and colleges must pay more $$$ to foreigners.

Most of students of private schools don't know English, so they don't need foreign professors.

Obviously I don't own a flat...

Maybe university owns some housing, which could be rent below market prices for employees. Unlikely, by why not to ask. Google says that there is some "DOM PRACOWNIKA NAUKOWEGO UNIWERSYTETU WARSZAWSKIEGO" Phd students can live there.

Work / Questions regarding Job Opportunity in Warsaw as an IT Business Analyst [3]

1. For salaries look here: tiny.cc/outsourcing-pdfand there tiny.cc/hays-pdf.

2. Between cities above 300 000 citizens renting prices and transport costs varies up to 100% (meaning Warsaw the most expensive and perhaps Białystok the cheapest). The rest is the same. Use numbeo.com to compare.

3. 4500 PLN is a minimum? yes. 4500net.

4. read this topic: https://polishforums.com/life/poland-quality-major-cities-cost-70877/. I have written there about air pollution in Polish cities. Basically it's all ok, except of Kraków in winter. Trains in Poland are quite slow (3h for 120km), especially now, when many major lines are being renovated. Road network is underdeveloped when comparing to western countries too. Transportation in cities is quite good. Poland is very save and has average level of corruption. Quality of life is good if you earn enough and don't have to commute too much.

5. yes, as you would not be able to communicate with most of people over 35 - 40 years old.

Study / Where to study IT - average French school, or one of the best in Poland ? [5]

Have you asked in: forum.4programmers.net/Kariera

Every programmer will tell you that studies don't teach you programming, so it's more important what you do in your free time. Weather working part time or doing some projects with colleagues.

Did I understand correctly? If you stay in France to get french eng. degree you will have to study for total 5 years and if you go back to Poland then 4.5? It's not a big difference. IMHO go back to Poland if you want to work in Poland after graduating or stay in France if you prefer living in France. You can spend time of studying in France for improving your French and perhaps your French diploma will be worth more in France than Polish one.

Travel / Best way to get from Lodz to Warsaw? [48]

In case of trains be careful, because some trains in Warsaw use now Warszawa Gdańska instead Warszawa Centralna station, due to construction works.

I didn't know that. Then better use change in Warszawa Zachodnia as the website suggests.

Life / Information on medications and prescriptions in Poland; Rivotril / RELANIUM / DIAZEPAM [6]

Yes, you will not buy Rivotril in Poland without recipe. To get it you need to consult a doctor. You will have to pay for doctor consultation if you don't have insurance. I don't think that Bulgarian recipe is honored in Poland. You can always bring bigger quantity of Rivotril from Bulgaria, so you have enough until you have a job here and thus health insurance.

Travel / Best way to get from Lodz to Warsaw? [48]

the easiest with train, because Chopin Airport has direct train connection. Use rozklad-pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en to find times and connections. It's around 2:30h You have to take tran SKW 2 or SKW 3 from the Airport and then change for train to £ódź in Warszawa Zachodnia or perhaps Warszawa Centralna. The website will suggest you Warszawa Zachodnia, because it's closer, but perhaps you want to go to Centralna, as it's main station and you will have easier to buy a ticket to £ódź there.

Type from: Lotnisko Chopina to: £ódź

I have found out that there is bus connection directly Chopin Airport - £ódź every 4h. If time suits you, then it's even easier than train. You can check schedule and buy ticket online here: modlinbus.com

Travel / Suggestions for what i should do or see in Lodz? [16]

If you're staying for 1 year only, then it's irrelevant that you learn languages fast. Except if it's the only thing which you're going to do in £ódź. Read wikitravel.org/en/%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA if you decided to go.
