Off-Topic / Does anyone else find Cygans fascinating? [60]

trener zolwia:
Oh, they're all Indian? I didn't know that.
wow.. seriously?

Umm, seriously. Most of our gypsies over here aren't from India. More like domestic hippies. Ask most Americans what they think a gypsy is and they'll give you a description similar to the one I gave here.

Many gypsies tell your fortune.

They're called gypsies because they try to gyp folks!

But that's what peeps call them here. Does that more or less describe the type of "gypsies" of the thread topic? I've been hearing about gypsy problems in the UK too and they sound like the US ones...

Troll alert!

Gypsy altert!...

go around and spread lies about all the neighbors and try to turn people against each other and then he would get really mad if you confronted him about it

:D

They are ex Indian nationals who moved to Europe.

Oh, they're all Indian? I didn't know that.
We have what some call "gypsies" here too... enclaves of traveling hairy women in linen dresses and unshaven men... smelly and dirty... just squat on someone's property uninvited and sit around drinking and smoking pot... thieving... Pretty much like flower children hippies of the 60's... or Dead Heads. Lol...

some? lol.. what part is choice..

Well, see, it's like this... Science is now closing in on finding what could be called the "gay gene", an abnormality, a genetic flaw. So perhaps at some point they will "prove" that one is indeed "born gay", as gays and their supporters already claim, absent any backing scientific evidence. At this point it would mean being gay was due to a genetic defect, that could one day be corrected, and not a mental illness after all.

Now, for choice... What about the girl who goes off to college and "experiments" with lesbianism but she never before nor again is with other females? What about her? Was she "born gay"? No. Even though she was attracted to other females for a time. Clearly this was a conscious "choice" she made. Some might call this choice the result of a mental illness, but more likely her temporary gayness was a reflection of society's promoting and celebrating of gayness as being trendy and cool.

And the same for bi's... What, were they born only partly gay? Can they turn the gay switch on and off at will like a choice? Lol...

Love / Polish citizen in the UK: I made a mistake and now she won't forgive me, help! [57]

I think you know you can't shelter your kids from everything forever, ... So that's why I don't think stickers have much effect.

Kinda beside the point. It's still a parent's and society's job to try and sheild kids from harmful and age-inappropriate influences. And these things about which we speak have been identified by society to be bad influences.

I am glad you came to understand the fallacy of your opinion on gays, trener zolwia. Welcome!

Oops, meant it is a disease to be a crocodile but not an alligator. :D
The two are very similar and easily confused!...

I think about

In any of these cases none is interested in procreation.

Of course you don't think about it, it's unconscious. Procreation is a primal drive. You don't have to think about it.

I am just wondering how you know what a caveman was thinking? What happened evolutionwise to make us stop thinking those alleged thoughts and why we permitted this abnormality of yours to dominate our brain and not think about kids when we see a hot chick?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you really disputing the notion that our sex drive is a drive to procreate?

Yes. It is explained by our sex drives. When we see a hot chick and consciously think 'Man, she's hot. I'd like to tap that', really the cave man in us is unconsciously thinking 'She'd makeum good babies. I must makeum babies...' Our sex drive is really a drive to procreate.

This is why rumphumping is so unnatural. Ya can't make babies with what comes out of that hole. :p

support your statement, please...

Well, this is somewhat known but if you insist on text and a link...

nonheterosexuals may be at somewhat heightened risk for depression, anxiety, and related problems, compared to exclusive heterosexuals

psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_mental_health.html

and support it not with your own words because it doesn't mean anything, unless you're a specialist with a degree...

How do you know what I have a degree in or not? Besides, as I have explained before and as MG is proof, just having a degree does not keep one from being biased one way or the other and letting that bias influence the "professional norms"...

Bottom line is that homosexuality is an abnormality, much like any other condition considered as abnormal. That doesn't mean that we should discriminate against people with such abnormalities as multiple sclerosis, homosexuality or color blindness.

Right. Nor should we celebrate these abnormalities any more than we celebrate alcoholism.

Gays also suffer from depression and anxiety and other mental/ emotional problems at higher rates than the general population. So there certainly would seem to be a clear link to mental illness.

So educate me what is the fertility rate within homosexual unions?
Any links to stats on naturally occurring male pregnancies?

LMAO!...

prove it

And just how do you propose I do this, dear? By citing some supportive website that someone could easily rip as institutionally biased as I did yours?

Here, how about this... Certainly no one can believe that every single psychologist in the entire world holds the very same professional opinions about anything, let alone the gay controversy. So what about the ones who have dedicated their professional careers to trying to find a cure for it? Certainly they hold professional attitudes contrary to the prescribed 'professional norms', right?

You didn't answer my two questions

You're too angry and shrill. You're just looking to fight. And you don't matter. Now run along.

personal attitudes toward homosexuality

As well as professional.

and professional norms

Ah, a loaded term here if there ever was one. Hardly conclusive. "Professional norms" often follow a prescribed path. We see this term a lot on Liberal university campuses. Researchers in a number of fields risk losing their funding if they dare arrive at conclusions outside the prescribed "professional norms"... And a number of trendy "professional norms" about the politically poisoned science about global warming have been ripped to shreds by scandal lately... Maybe they should change the term to "pressure norms"... And in this case it's PC pressure.

Love / Polish citizen in the UK: I made a mistake and now she won't forgive me, help! [57]

Do you understand a bit of German?

No.

It's not just me. Our society recognizes the harmful influences of the Hip-hop culture. There is very good reason most of Hip-hop CDs today come with parental advisories and age sales limits. Same reason sex and violence movies come with ratings and age restrictions and have for years...

I see only one type of hatred: it's when those who claim being homosexual is not an illness hate those who just say "well... let's see...

So true. Despite engineered myths to the contrary, the real ugly haters reside on the Left. Over here most offensive haters are those who defend gays... They really get to spouting some nasty and offensive stuff. Such bullying hardly helps generate sympathy for their cause...

A J

Too many words! Sheesh!

Some things are apparent. This is a silly message board, not a college thesis. One need not back with stats and studies and sources and links the claim that today's Hip-hop culture is some ugly stuff that negatively impacts kids. To say being exposed to ugly and violent things doesn't in any way impact those exposed to it is absurd. And, yes, H-h is worse than Jazz or Rock or Classical music. This is pretty commonly understood, over here anyway. We even put content advisories on CDs just for this reason.

Yep. And now law enforcement and even potential employers check peeps' social networking sites...

Here's a story from today about Paris Hilton's coke bust and how her claim about borrowing someone else's purse is a lie. Seems she tweeted a pic of herself showing off the purse a month before...

Everyone knows that gay is a form of mental illness but many refuse to admit it or they have fallen for all the pro-gay PC propaganda.

And treatments, or "cures" have shown some degree of success. But gays get offended at the mere mention of such things and attempt to silence this line of discussion. Electing instead to force others into accepting and celebrating their illness.

Once again we see Lefties putting their feelings above science...

USA, Canada / Shipping large quantity of Polish vodka to the US [14]

polish vodka from poland to either the USA/Canada?

Sounds like it could be difficult as you'd have to deal with the import/ export liquor laws in two lands. And in the US each state has its own Liquor Control Board (LCB) and as such the laws regulating booze vary wildly from state to state. Some liquor laws are downright archaic. Around here you can't even legally import a case of beer from a neighboring state, for crissake...

Maybe start by contacting the exporter in Poland and see what they say...
