We can't really advise you.Kids wear different things. We don't even know if you're talking about a girl or boy

Language / Polish pronunciation for Christmas Carol [4]

Also you are up to a challenge as it is a fast carol.

And hard in pronounciation. The word "przybieżeli" says it all :D.
Either way-good luck.It's a nice gesture.

Love / Aliments and abortion (I was married to a Polish guy) [64]

I can partialy understand you but why should she not ask for child support? It's his child also.Maybe we don't know full story but two ppl had sex and two ppl are responsible. She's willing to take responsibility for what happened and he's not.

he said he wants just settlement that is done verbally between us two.

Of corse he does.Oral agreements are legal but they are hard to prove.

did you know he did not want any kids before you got pregnant?

I wondered the same thing but not in the way I think you're suggesting. If you;re suggesting that she trapped him there's one easy solution-use condom.Besides-she was already married to him.

Champchamp-that's a good question.Did he tell you he dislakes kids?

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

After that I'm sure he will be converted:D

Of course.one day. :D

Everywhere is rich

Now you sound like an intelligent person :)
Just messing around.
Of course different countries have different standards of life but that's just one piece. You can get mad about emigrants but take a look at them from other angle.Maybe they can teach you something(and I don't only mean Poles). If you meet a lunatic turn around (no matter what country he represents) but in other cases open your mind.

Life / Is Poland a poor country? [578]

We often forget that behind some words are ppl.Words as nation, country, society, group and so on tends to hide stories of ppl.Even here we only see the screen names. We often argue and use harsh words but when it comes to real ppl...From what I heard all PF meetings were a success. Why?Because real ppl met and not their screen names.

I'm going to sound like some loony but if ppl would stop looking for differences and started to really see other cultures we wouldn't have this arguments.

UK, Ireland / How long will Poles use communism and ww2 as an excuse to move to the UK? [55]

Why haven't you moved to the UK to be with your friends? I'm just curious

Because I prefer to stay where I am.I love my country and my town.I like to travel and meet ppl from other countries but I choose Poland when it comes to living.

Besides-only few ppl emigrated. Most of my friends are still here.

What a typically Polish stance you're taking Lenka. Very nationalistic, defensive and paranoid.

Of course you'd think that.Maybe I should suggest you other points of view:
-you said that ppl here are not Polish
-||- -||- -||- -||- -||- Polish but not living in Poland but probably in UK
-||- -||- Polish ppl tend to stic to their own language
I just showed you that that's not necessarily true.And-all my friends that are living in UK know English.

That's just one explanation. You want to hear another?:
I react like that because you're posting the same ... everyday.I just got tired

And yet another:
When someone's is attacing something dear to you you fight back

And the last one:
I'm not the one with problem-you are.Just think about it.
P.S.(edited) And I posted the AllThingsPolish comment just because you used the exact name of the second forum about Poland

History / If you left Poland while it was under Communism, could you go back? [18]

Germans didnt care about dual citizenship until 9/11 and the BS that followed.

I'm not quite sure how it was. From my uncle story there were two options:
-you got German citizenship in Poland and then went to Germany (that's when you lost your Polish citizenship)
-you went to Germany and applied for German citizenship there (then no-one cared about your Polish citizenship)

I think he just got scared because he knows you're probably win and I don't think the judge will be nice to him.

From bastard he became poor puppy that only wants peace in the world.Don't go for that.Every time he's sweet or talks about consequences just remember how he behaved earlier.

i dont know how it can be bad for me coz i did not do anything cruel against him

Exactly.

he had been calling all night and sending sms begging to talk to me. how fast was that? o.o) but he's guna play the game again i know

Just be strong. He knows that he crossed the line and now he's scared.
I'm so proud of you!I wish I could give you my strength (since I don't love him I have all the strength in the world :)).Just..good luck and as always keep us posted.

who are infatuated with all things Polish.

For AllThingsPolish go to the other forum.

There's not many real Poles here, the ones that moved to our countries tend to prefer to stick to their own language.

I'm here,I'm Polish living in Poland and speaking communicative English. And I tell you-go to some webside "I hate Poland" and there you'll be able to spread your wings

History / If you left Poland while it was under Communism, could you go back? [18]

Sometimes you couldn't come back because the government took your passport. That was the case with some Jews. They got "one way ticket".The same case was with some ppl that emigrated to Germany(although I'm not sure if it wasn't the Germans that asked you to give away your Polish citizenship).

But I never heard about a person that couldn't come back only because they were studying abroad.

Love / Aliments and abortion (I was married to a Polish guy) [64]

I was really hoping we'd just sign a paper in the notary. really....

Have you ever played this scenario with him:
You announce in elegant manner that you're going to keep the child (no negotiations here,no I will send the child to my mother and so on) and that you expect him to pay child support and that if he's not willing you're going to court. Here you end it and just wait for his decision.Without another word, without arguing if he's yelling at you just "Ok.If that's what you choose"?

I'm just asking.Maybe you already did it but maybe that's an approach you haven't try.

.It's so depressing

Yes.it is but I think you are stronger than this.Keep on no matter what he throws at you.
P.S.(edited) Don't pay attention to call1n.He's here just to mess with us.Look at his posts and you're going to know it all.

That's low even for you.You can do whatever you want in other threads that are dealing with worldview but this is serious thread.Back off.

News / Are Poles good enough for USA (to go there without a visa)? [288]

I will say this only once as I already wrote it to call1n:
America has the right to decide how many ppl and from which countries they want to let in.We may not like it but that's how it is.They are not really hurting Poles by not letting them in so there's no reason to go on with all this racisms accusation.

and come to grips the way you want to see your country vs what it is!

Funny thing-you wrote that one before as well.

And you know what, calling a Pole anti-semite, is anti-Polish!

No.it's not. It's either true or false but not anti=Polish.

Are you saying I am less?

I think I read this line somewhere...oh yeah, you send me the same line in PM.You prepared your statemets and send it weverywhere you can?Very sad.

No, but you are upset about a non-issue. This has been discussed before by the way:

He knows that, posted there the same thing. He's posting only two thingd:"Poles v. Jews"and "Thor skin".

DNA test isn't a problem though but I guess he can also refuse to do it.

He can't if he wants to prove it's not his child. As I told you-the court will assume (don't take it the wrong way,I believe you I just want to tell it all) it's his child.

I can't really argue with a professional.Just remember that in Poland you also have rights. His behaviour will help you. That's why I sugested typing your conversations and gathering documents. You can send him a letter with your statement and see what his replay is going to be.Ask again at NGO or some lawyer (that won't charge you) and see what your options are

Maybe it's possible that I have such syndrome and probably not but I am almost sure I dont have such scary syndrome.

You may not have it but your posts reminded me of the several women I knew that were abused.I mean-you said that you can't even be mad at him.

My friend's always using expression "gonić króliczka"-"to chase a bunny" for this kind of thing.I once heard "in relationship one party always loves more while the other allows to be loved" .

If I was in my country, I would probably have more idea what to do but i am just so lost.

That's understandable. At home we feel secure and know how to deal with things.

ahmmm...I never let anyone treat me this way before it's just that my feelings with him are always strong. stupid feelings... I really wish I don't feel this way.

Emotions can be, and usually are, messy.Right now you must try to control them and deal with him with your head instead.

I've never seen my parents fight. Not even once in my life.

There's nothing wrong with fighting but it should be done within reason and without real insults.

everyone in his family is already pinning me down with negative feelings.

Don't pay attention.I have three good reasons:
1-They are his family and not yours.I know ppl that can be objective in situations like that but in most cases ppl will be on their relatives side no matter what you're going to say

2-Someone raised him to be the man he is.Of corse sometimes children are entirely different but not so often.
3-They know only what he tells them.
P.S.Do you have any friends here?Someone to listen to you and help you?

Language / Want to learn Polish, already know some. [13]

And you probably will. After some studying you should be able to communicate very good, both in speaking and writing.
I think you should also take part in discussions in Polish on this forum. It will give you an opportunity to practice your writing.Maybe you should also get used to Polish keyboard(maybe you already had,I don't know). It's not so different-practically English with few additional combinations like: ą,ę,ć,ó,ź,ż (alt with appropriate letter, only ź is alt+x)

Love / Aliments and abortion (I was married to a Polish guy) [64]

I really don't think I was ever angry at my husband and I dont think ill ever be.

That's part of the problem.

maybe he treats me this way coz he knows
no matter what he does I never yell at him or even blame him for something.

Exactly. He treats you this way because he knows he can. It's time to change it girl.

He could buy the case...

Let's assume he tries that:
1-he tries to deny that he's a father-you get DNA tests and that's all.
2-he tries to get the child for himself-rather doubtful
3-he doesn't want to pay-under Polish law every parent is obliged to support the child..Any judge can't say otherwise.Even paid one.

I wish you all the best.Unfortunately there's something about you that reminds me "beaten wife syndrome".He hurts you and you can't even fight for yourself (the child is important but the same goes for you-if you don't think you're worth fighting for than how are you gonna face him?) and you think taking what's yours is something bad ( feeling ashamed because you ask for money that he has to pay?).

He married you and had sex with you if he doesn't like the fact that you're pregnent that's his problem not yours.

Now:
1-as fast as you can go to some lawyer and get legal advice.Ask if you should record your conversation with him, gather documents and so on.Step by step. Then do what he tells you.

He is a big fish but you can fight.Don't wait. The longer you're unprepared...let's just say it's not to good.Remember-child born during marriage is automatically child of the women's husband. The husband has to go to court and file for "zaprzeczenie ojcostwa"/"denial of paternity" to change it.

Girl you don't know how much I wish this b****** got everything he deserves.
Be strong, fight and please keep posting.
P.S.(edited) I forgot one more thing-remember he can try to discredit you. That's one more reason why you should look for legal advice.

Food / Sernik Wiedenski [15]

Too moist for my taste
Pam, it depends on your preferations. If you use "Twaróg" your cheesecake will be dryer. If you use "Twaróg sernikowy"(usually in buckets) it's going to be semi-moist.

Language / Addressing a widow who lives in Poland [12]

We have a little bit different system(or had)
Jan Nowak
Alina Nowakowa-Alina that is married to Mr Nowak
Helena Nowakówna-Daughter of Mr and Mrs Nowak-unmerried
But from what I know it was rather used in speaking than writting. The first name was always the same only the last name changed.
