Work / Study (M.SC microbiology) and part time work in Poland [4]

Your chances are nil, they speak Polish in Poland funnily enough, not English, maybe you should start learning Polish and save up enough money to pay for your studies and your living costs, because getting a part-time job will be impossible, local students will be doing these.

And what can you buy in the supermarket for 2 euros? Nothing that makes us feel "satisfied", i.e. which gives us the feeling we've had enough to eat.

Wrong, people are lazy or have too much expendable income and therein lies the problem - It's amzaing how creative you can get with some rice, potatoes or lentals..if you need to be.

News / Next 100 years - Poland as great power? [35]

1. We find a lot of oil on our lands

You better start drilling ;0)

4. There's a third world war. That would change a lot of things in politics and economy.

No such thing, we'll just flatten each other - THE END! The EU was invented for a reason, we're all friends now - who do you suggest we fight with and for what reason?

Poland does not have long time strategy like Russia and is always restricted to second actor role.

Poland has no influence or hard cash, therefore they will never be a major player.

Life / Anyone else suffering from mosquito bites in Poland? [52]

It seems quite a big allergy you developped. Try useing histamine blockers like SveniPolen suggested

Why use chemicals when garlic is the best thing, I can tell you now, I suffered for years with bits, the last time before I started to take the garlic was that bad my ankle swelled up so I couldnt walk..after that I eat garlic before and when I was away and nada! not a thing..they dont come near me! ..Call me stupid, but there may, just may be a reason why the Greeks, Italians and the Spanish have always had loads of onions and garlic in their diet and the French for that matter..

Polonia / Trip to Sweden - questions [39]

Yes, there are - i was just looking at some. But what i really need is a hotel with late check out, midday is too early :S and the best would be close to Arlanda airport or at least with good transport links (from airport) :S

Most if not all hotels in Europe will kick you out at 11am..Its a standard..

Polonia / Trip to Sweden - questions [39]

I was serious too.

That doesnt explain why people were all over the place in the Ikea in Spain, in the UK we go in one direction, in Spain they were come at me from both directions...no order whatsoever...it was like a car crash..but they seemed happy though, actually less stressed than in the UK...Oh but no meat balls :( they had crappy damn hot dogs with hydroginated onions! ...the only consolation of going there was that I'd get meat balls (there's no bad time to eat them - even at 09:00)....can you explain that to me?

Polonia / Trip to Sweden - questions [39]

I have no problem at all switching back and forth when I drive in different parts of the world but ALWAYS find myself walking in the wrong direction in shopping malls, etc. when in the UK and other "wrong-sided" ;) parts of the world. Arrows help! LOL

Cheeky! I was being serious! What is it with the arrows..I was looking for them on the floor when I arrived in Malaga and was sooooooooooo tired from the early morning flight (who the hell wants to start a holiday in Ikia?) and like I said found it disconcerting that people pushed their damn trollies in different directions...we like the whole clock work orange thing in the uk.

All Swedes work for IKEA to make furniture for fags

I think by that you mean furniture that is easy to assemble - me and my friend put together a table 4 chairs a coffee table, 1 large chest of draws 2 small chest of draws, a small book case and large book case with doors in 2 days (with breaks at the beach and tapas)- I LOVE IKIA! You make instructions that anyone can read and you dont have drill stupid holes, everything fits and goes together perfectly...for this I thank for inventing the Swedes :D They make women look good at DIY!

Polonia / Trip to Sweden - questions [39]

i'd like a game of hide and seek in one of them :)

I'd like to point out that they dont have arrows on the floor in the one in Malaga and everyone walkes in different directions, this was quite disconcerting as I'd just got off an early flight totally knackard and just wanted to sleep - or is it just in the UK where they have arrows on the floor telling us what direction we should walk in, or is just a Warrington Ikia thing?

By the way there is a very nice chap on here called SzwedwPolsce who Im sure would happily help with any questions you have..he's lovely.

I wasnt talking about you, I was talking about the article...calm down! Im sure that news papers in Spain dont print articles on Brits being binge drinkers in the UK...that was my point...

The article is from News.pl, Polish news about Poland...

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

By choice my dear, by choice

Keep telling yourself that, you might believe it one day ;0)

and my relative modesty prohibits me from tantalizing you with my robust full-bodied social life.

You mean by that the lonely nights you spend on here? Being completely agressive towards women in the virtual world because there isnt a woman in front of you to be agressive to.

smart is somebody who knows what is going on in the world and has his/her own opinion
stylish- has her own style, but is not going to wear something just to follow the fashion, she knows what she looks good in and she wears it,
feminine- I guess I don't have to explain that;)
classy: wild in bed, good manners at breakfast;)
and on, and on , and on.....:)

Bingo!

News / Majority of Poland's kids physically unfit, claims PPA. [41]

Would that account for the huge number of ads on Polish tele for medicins?

God knows, but my mates wife takes their kid to the ER if he has a sniffle/temp..when calpul would do the trick..Its always a really big drama!

I dunno ... I just copied it from the article

Then the article isn't giving the full facts and kids suffer from all sorts when growing up..and defect could mean they need to wear glasses or they have fallen arches..both of which can be corrected before they reach adulthood and neither are life threatening...Why are we so bothered in the UK about Polish kids in Poland? What makes it so news worthy?

UK, Ireland / Oxford Polish bride 'heartbroken' over arrest - accusations of sham marriage [126]

But they use technology and taller apartment highrises to overcome that. Your country, like all other capitalist based ecomonies, would love nothing more than a huge boom that would generate unprecidented revenues, and for that you have to import people. These people create appetite which industry and govt fills...at a price, of course!

You know nothing about my country..so shut up.

News / Majority of Poland's kids physically unfit, claims PPA. [41]

"Over 90% of Polish children

Thats a high figure..which I would find hard to believe.

various developmental defects and ailments

What are these?

Its probably true....now that Macdonalds and computer games have reached Poland , they will get the same problems we have in the UK...It does not suprise me....

Admittedly its been 4 years since I was in Poland, but I didnt see gross amounts of chubby little feckers waddling about like I do in the UK.

lots of shouting but nothing behind it?

I think Polish parents suffer from hypochondria by proxi behaviour and take their kids to the ER/doctors more than they need to.

Yeah, I remember that, thats why I was careful to say that anyone who does this is disgusting (I think my term was skank), but these instances are far and few between which is a good thing, this priest has married off nearly 400 to EE citizens - which really doesnt show these countries in a good light, I know people from Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Hungary, so I know very good decent people exist, but not all English people have these connections with these countries so it just magnifies the stereotypes that EE citzens are "bad" which is a shame.

Yeah, but to them it's fake. They rationalize it by saying it isn't true love, so it doesn't count.

Then you have a very shallow view of the sanctity of marriage and a very worrying view of the abuse of law and immigration.

I live on a small Island, its more complicated, we are at breaking point and dont need people who dont have the right to be here - water shortages, infrastructuer at breaking point..I could go on but I know you can "rationalise" it in your own mind so there is no point.

They know it's illegal but what it seems they dont know is what effects the "marriage" itself will have on their lives (apart from the whole thing being illegal, how can u tie urself down with a person u dont even know? those are legal ties etc) And i was not playing the "poor naive Polish girl" card.

I personally, honestly dont think they care, I think that money is a motivator and after a quick divorce they will move on..Maybe do it again because the money was so easy...Its about knowing what is right and what is wrong and having morals..A person with morals wouldn't do such a thing, a greedy thoughtless person would..This is what makes us different to them. This is the difference between a thief and a person that works for a living, even if that person doesnt earn a lot of money, they have that self-respect and pride, some people just dont have this, because they found an easy way to make money at the price of others misery, these marriages are exactly the same.

those girls, it seems, are not realising what they are getting into.

They know full well that they are doing something that isn't legal, so therefore they know they are breaking the law, so Im not falling for the poor naive Polish girl line...It's easy money and it's appealing to them. You wouldn't do it, would you? I know I wouldn't.

haha the lads will have to do something similar LOL

On politeness of course! We may mark you on your fashion sense, you are Polish, so I reckon nul point :D

Considering that terrorist laws can be used against people who over-fill their dustbins, I'm sure the legal profession could find a way round it - unfortunately, I don't think the will is there, when it comes to immigration at least.

The terrorist laws are a joke, the last lot claimed they'd be persecuted in Pakistan if we sent them back, so we let them stay! WTF!!

The law you are talking about was brought in to stop forced marriages - they assume that if someone is 21 they are old enough to say no to an arranged marriage to their uncle in Pakistan.

Everybody calm down. So the gal made a mistake. Maybe she desperately needed some money for rent?

So the next time some immigrant with a new green card marries a mexican for cash you can say, oh well she must have needed to pay her rent..Pllllleeeaze! England is tiny and we have immigration rules for a reason, these skanks were breaking the law, nothing more. By the way if you cant make the rent..go home.

there are definitely some white English women who say "I only date blacks or <insert ethnicity here>"

They generally say "innit" a lot too..nuff said :D

I dont know what to answer for that LOL i use commas coz errr they are useful? coz it is easier to read when long sentences are partioned with commas? I dont know if it is correct in English or not, in Polish we use commas quite a lot (same as other punctuation marks) and i use them without realising it really.

Commas are indeed useful little things and yes we use them quite often in England too ;0)

Tbh i dont care if it looks cool or not :) i like punctuation marks and i will keep using them :P

Whats wrong with writing standard English, isn't this the goal of a none native who is learning? I'll tell you now, I'd much rather read your posts then someone who butchers English "I won dat a niiic Pols gril" which is what we often come across here on this forum.

I'm one of the politest, most respectful people you can imagine... unless you cross me ;)

We'll mark you out of 10 when we do the meet up lol :D Im going to have some score cards made up ;0)

It already exists, and is already keeping the wrong couples apart:

I mean something more stringent - because what we have atm doesn't seem to be working :( Maybe the priest got to nob all the EE girls before he agreed (bad taste I know, but I couldn't resist)

The priest has admitted that he knew full well that all these none EU citzens were entering into sham marriages - so the mere fact this girl aged 19 (not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box either by the sounds of things) was marrying a none EU citizen in this very church, speaks volumes to me...there are now nearly 400 people in this country because some skanks wanted make a few hundred quid..what kind of morals do these people have? I thought that marriage was a special thing, not something to be bought or sold.

I also dont remember hearing that hundreds of Brits were marrying none EU immigrants in Spain (where we are in great numbers) - So whatever some low life has to say about us in whatever language they're speaking, Im happy knowing we're not ready to sell something special for a few sheckles, but if some skanky Brit has done it, it's clearly not on the level that other nationals do it in the UK.

Anyway, no more personal insults..We all know what's gone on is wrong -

I wouldnt be surprised if new laws are intruduced making it even more difficult for certain nationals to marry in the UK..which is a shame for those who are actually genuine.

Plenty - but she's already been married to six Nigerians and a couple of Indians before hand in order to aford the "white" wedding she's always dreamt of :D

That's one way of reducing the immigration levels. Bit radical though.

Bingo - I had problems for years getting bits and having quite bad reactions to them..Now I eat loads of garlic before I go away and when Im away and the buggers have never come near me since!

Back on the mozzi topic, we've got problems in the UK with them..again its related to stagnant pools of water..

Unless it really is a sham in which case the fat b*tch needs to be beaten to death with a sack of angry pitbulls.

She cant speak English, owns two cats and has a penchant for skinky 3rd worlders she should be beaten to death and then fed to the lions at Chester zoo!

metro.co.uk/news/830389-sham-marriage-vicar-married-couples-for-cash-in-immigration-scam

The Rev Alex Brown was part of a conspiracy that saw eastern Europeans being paid up to £3,000 to wed illegal African immigrants, it has been alleged.

He and two accomplices exploited the fact that the Africans were desperate to stay at all costs and the eastern Europeans badly needed cash, the jury was told.

If these people want to marry 3rd worlders, then they can take them back to their own fcuking countries!

Sounds very sad for her. I wonder what the full facts of the story are? The fact that he is still under arrest surely shows that the border agency know something?

Yes they know that she is a lying slag who should be slung out of the country too!
