Love / Met this gorgeous Polish lady [27]

Just wondering what to do and not to do

The best advice I can give you is to take things at your own pace. Don't be in a rush, expecting to completely understand each other right away. Your relationship will eventually fall into place.

Travel / Any PRACTICAL advice for a new visitor to Warsaw? [29]

Have fun and enjoy. Take something dressy, because people like to dress up there, specially when they are going out

Thanks, my niece and I are going to be roommates. We plan on doing a bit of partying and dancing.

Wear a beanie with a propeller on top of it. Guys like that.

Sounds verrrry sexy!

where in Warsaw are you staying?

Holiday Inn

PolskaDoll
We'll be in Warsaw 4 nights

would love a detailed summary of your visit to the father-, I'm sorry, to the motherland.

For sure... (well maybe not too detailed!)

Life / Embarrassing Polish parents/relatives stories [5]

My embarrassing moments were when the neighborhood kids would walk in my mom's kitchen. Her simmering pot of kapusta would stink up the entire house. Frying pans full of sizzling kielbasa, resembling phallic symbols, were also quite an embarrassing sight, lol!

Food / I am a cider drinker, where to get it in Krakow [40]

My sis would buy sauerkraut juice and drink it right out of the can. I nearly gagged watching her drink it. Much too bitter for my liking. The only thing I'd consider using the product for, is adding flavor to Polish food.

Love / 'Battered husbands' - still a taboo subject in Poland [387]

‘Battered husbands’ - still a taboo subject in Poland

[1] 2 3 4 »»

Battered husbands can be a taboo subject practically anywhere they may exist.

I used to arrange intake information for physically abused, battered women and their children. They were placed in protective living shelters, for protection against the female's spouse or boyfriend.

I recall a male client who was scared to death of his female spouse. He had scars on his face, from objects she had previously thrown at him.

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE?

My two Polish male teenage cousins were thrilled, when they ordered beverages with ice, while visiting the United States. They were also happy that many restaurants here, provide unlimited drink refills.

Language / So why did you give up learning Polish? [105]

Living in the USA a person would be better off learning Spanish

Especially in California, where the English language is virtually on the endangered species list...

So how often do you have a chance to speak Polish in Riverside?

Chances of bumping into other Polish people in Riverside, happen to be very slim. Usually, only places I see other Poles, are at the Polish churches in Los Angeles and Yorba Linda, CA.

Love / Is this dress good for a Polish wedding? [15]

My sis had asked our cousin Ula how we should dress, for an upcoming wedding in Poland. She said not to wear anything black and no hats. (Like we'd really want to wear a hat anyway...)

Love / Sigh... Polish girls have such pretty eyes. [51]

I like drinking

Hopefully you don't like drinking too much. That can be a real turn off, no matter who you are.

Just try talking to the lovely girl. Polish girls usually don't bite (just kidding.) Eventually, you can ask her out on a casual date. See how it takes off from there.

To answer your question, yes some Polish girls do date Asian guys. I used to have a Korean boyfriend myself. My mom didn't really approve of the relationship, but too bad!

Genealogy / malcolm in the middle grandparents [7]

Whether that makes her Polish is up to your interpretation.

As far as I'm aware she is of Polish ancestry.

Travel / what are the average fares to Poland from USA? [10]

My round-trip in August from LAX to Warsaw (with transfer) is costing me over $1,300.00. Good lord thats a lot of money! Should be worth every penny though. I'll have the opportunity to get to know relatives, I've never met before.

Life / Talking over people in conversations; is it a Polish trait? [41]

I'm having a conversation with the daughter I will wait for her to finish what she is saying before replying but she will just start talking over what I'm saying when I'm in the first sentence

Tell the youngster she's being impolite. She needs to demonstrate both manners and respect.
