Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

well some small orthodox courts dont over-ride national law. not sure why Delph is driveling about it.
And it's 'adjudicate'..:) Just saying. I wouldn't normally bother being so pedantic, but I will make an exception for you L. It might only be one letter wrong but I find it worrying when a self appointed language expert demonstrates a total non-grasp of important words.

The Jewish community in the UK has their own courts,

Do they really? and what would 'the Jewish community in the UK' be exactly then? and what 'trouble' were Jews causing in London?

Work / English/finance career northern Poland [7]

hi Mark.
I think you would need the language to get any job.
You could teach English but would need a CELTA and I imagine that would be a bit of a come down for you.
Are you having Polish lessons?

News / Ethnic tensions erupt in Ełk, Poland [180]

Poland should really focus more on children.
I know that many polish women want career and all. But you can see that these statistics are worring..

maybe 'Poland' should focus more on retaining its population, for a start.

News / Polish Wigilia on UNESCO's world heritage list? [30]

every year on Christmas Eve I've seen plenty Brits in McDonald's and generally behaving like it was a normal day

that might be because Xmas eve IS a 'normal day' in the UK, A working day anyway. Obviously people tend to leave work early...but.

We do not accept people who don't speak Polish in work

you do see the hypocrisy of this statement don't you?

One time you are complaining about London and how hard things are there for jobseekers like you, then....

UK, Ireland / Job interview - recruitment process in the UK [26]

Not really Peter....as Observer said, it is a collection of smaller places, each with their own character.
If you want to work in the East, then look there...
unless you have a skewed view of the city and by 'East' you mean eg Newbury Park....which is hardly in London.

UK, Ireland / Job interview - recruitment process in the UK [26]

the skills from Poland are not really transferable as such but my ex husband lied that he used to be an electrican in Poland (in fact he had been a cable puller) and managed to get onto some kind of conversion course and work as an electrician in the UK.

Of course now he just works on the black doing jobs for friends and friends of friends,so that he doesn't have to pay child support. So I don't suppose his qualifications are up to date (they do need updating every couple of years).

that is why there are jokes about Polish electricians, because of people like him.
