Law / Business Etiquette (Polish companies' dealings with clients in other counties) [14]

also, when doing business over the internet what should be considered when sending e-mail or speaking via a webcam.

1) I'd say it depends on who the client is and what the meeting is about, my guys go to meetings in person in general, last week my boss went to Barcelona and the week before he went to Stockholm - but they need to go to visit sites they're working on and to discuss in detail, designs etc with clients, something you cant do over a VC or tele con.

also, when doing business over the internet what should be considered when sending e-mail or speaking via a webcam.

2) Generally, covering your ass and getting everything down in detail is good business practice if done over email - put your points in a document and attach it to the email, use the email as a "covering letter" so to speak - this makes it more formal.

You shouldn't really ever need to speak via web-cam unless you are dealing with several different people at the same time in a conference situation.

Not really, for us as a company, its just a "Green" way of dealing with clients, not because of mulitple involvement....VCs (video conferences) are generally for internal meetings the preference is always face to face meetings with externals.

We also have "See & Share" which means you can give access to presentations to an external - again these are generally used for internal meetings, but would be a good tool for a small company to give a presentation to a client.

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

but we just have to have one with turbo-charged super-extreme reversible hammer action, lol :D

Evidently you've never used a Rabbit PMSL!

spiteful and deranged mind (hence feminist )!

Have you been to the Zimmy school of charm?

My same thoughts exactly lol

So you see, the "weaker" sex does exist, it just means physical, not mental, therein lies the difference - of course we have ladies who like to act and look like men but I do like to think they're in a minority, even in England.

Law / Marketing graduate from Pakistan - any way to study and live in Poland? [11]

Is there anyway i can come to Poland for studies and maybe find a job duriing my stay in Poland to support myself

No chance whatsoever.

a) You dont speak Polish.
b) You cant get a visa to study unless you can prove you can support yourself and pay for your studies.
c) You wont find a company in Poland to take you on.
d) Do you think Polish people would be leaving in such numbers if opportunities were to be had?

Just out of curiousity, why Poland and not England, I thought England was the destination that most Pakistains wanted to travel to?

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

if i buggered off and left my wife and kid i think she would struggle immensely to provide for herself and the child - she endlessly tells me that looking after children is a full time job, and i dont disagree with her

Congrats...But please dont tell me you've purchased a people carrier too, I like to think that there's still a rebel in there somewhere ;0)

Isnt it strange that MG and the little runt Miguel take down the legend BubbaWoo in a few sentences?

I didnt notice, where they did they do that?

News / Nigel Kennedy on Poland (Positive and Negative Thoughts) [25]

Why did he make those comments?

Because he loved Poland as it was and not what its turning into, maybe he thought he'd found a little bit of paradise..

His ethnicity is undetermined: part Irish apparently, on father's side.

Most Brits are part Irish. His mother is English.

however I have seen him performing what I considered rather unimaginative music

Then you didnt see the documentary.

UK, Ireland / Poles living in the UK returning home or not? [63]

Why are there so many unemployed in the UK. Don't people want to work there? It's no wonder that Poles, and other ethnic grioups, can go there abd fine meaningful employment.

WTF do you know about Britain? Whats meaningful about earning money that affords you to live on the bread-line with a load of other people living on the bread-line! Maybe these "ethnic" groups dont mind sharing a room with 5 other people..Most Brits want a better standard of life!

Quite simply... yes. There are entire towns where people just don't have, want, nor seek employment or education. They are mistakenly referred to as the working class, even though they don't work.

Quite simply a lying cnut..entire towns my ar$e?

They live their lives by leeching from the government in benefit money, which is ridiculously high

£55 per week to live off? to pay bills to buy food to pay for transport to go to interviews?

It's been shown that you can make more money unemployed than you can in low-tier employment.

Prove to me that a single person living on their own can make more money than someone on low teir employment? Or is that person working about 10 hours a week? Which is not really working now is it?

I even knew one unbelievably lazy middle-class moron who got 500 GBP a month (living with his parents) for having aspergers.

Do you know what Aspergers is and what does his class have to do with it? First you have issues with the "working" class now its the middle class!

That's more than I made when I was working 25 hours a week.

I had no idea cleaning public toilets paid so much.

News / Nigel Kennedy on Poland (Positive and Negative Thoughts) [25]

Was the programme interesting ?

Very much so, it was interesting to see how much Kennedy enjoyed Polish folk music and how entrenched in the classical and jazz scene he is over there - he's very well respected too.

I suppose we all have

Isnt that a bit of an exaggeration?

Can the title be changed back, it sounds rather negative and he had more positives in the documentary!

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people moving back home from the UK? [68]

Things are starting to boil over.

Where? And dont blame the Poles, it was Blaire that opened the doors and recruitment agencies that went looking for cheap labour in Poland, we had as much right to impose sactions as the other countries but as usual "they got it wrong"

Whilst Im not a fan of mass immigration, at least Poles are paying tax and NI which is more than can be said for all the illegal immigrants who breed like rats and give nothing back..

Tell you what fused, given the choice who do you want here?

A) Extremists who call our soldiers murderers (these people have British passports and were born here) who will never integrate?

Or

B) Europeans who have the right to work here legally and in general integrate?

UK, Ireland / Brit Polonia fighting anti-Polish stereotypes [46]

Hardly darling..But if people cant hack a bit of flack they should flock off back to their utopia :D

Life / A Girl Told Me You Have to Be Goodlooking to "sustain" in Poland. [30]

First of all, people like exotic features in others

Depends if you are subjected to "exotic" all the time, its not so "exotic" then..

You just want to draw out the racist elements on PF.

I think some like drawing attention to themselves, I did warn him to take his photo down.

Love / Scottish & Polish relationships [229]

Well, they still fight, as do the Welsh. However, perception swings in roundabouts. Brits have very mixed perceptions I've noticed.

You separated them, personally I prefer to be called English, not British and Im sure you prefer to be called Scottish.

I know the Welsh are Brits. Where did I say otherwise?

You can hear their wales of protest!

Trev..not sure about that one though :D

...and a hearty handshake with a pat-on-the-back.

Why not go the whole hog and pat her on the head you patronising fool!

Maybe he likes slow death by poisoning...

We could send that scouser round and he could have a slow death by bleeding to death with one knacker!

I just wanted to make sure you stay paranoid enough so no unsuspecting victims have to put up with your crap.

His victims are ficticious - he's actually scared of women ;0)

Back on topic how to turn a Polish guy off, well I think pgtx covered them quite well..But she forgot to add, dont start humming the wedding march on your first date, this is a dead give-away there is a distinct possibility that you're a stalker.

i'm an old school sexist

Liar, you better hope Mrs Sokrates (to be) isnt reading this thread ;0)

Life / A Girl Told Me You Have to Be Goodlooking to "sustain" in Poland. [30]

Suddenly a girl popped in and told me that If you want to sustain in Poland, youve got to be good looking.is it true?

No, its not true.

i know europeans are all veryy good looking

No they are not, trust me we have our fair share that were hit with the ugly stick too many times.

My advice would be, learn some Polish, save enough money to cover your studies and living costs and work hard, that's what you need to be able to survive in Poland.

Good luck.

p.s. take the photo off, you have nothing to prove to a bunch of strangers on a forum.

News / UK might have anti-Polish socialist Prime Minister [29]

The Prime Minster is required to follow the Church of England in order to become Prime Minster.

The Act of Settlement 1701, which remains in operation today, excludes any Catholic or anyone who marries a Catholic from the throne.

Under the Roman Catholic Relief Act of 1829, sect. 17, and the Jews' Relief Act of 1858, sec 4, no Roman Catholic or Jew may advise the sovereign on ecclesiastical matters. Were the prime minister to be a Roman Catholic or a Jew and alternate system of ecclesiastical appointment would have to be devised.

To date, all British Prime Ministers to date, at least while in office, have professed Anglican faith. Disraeli, while born into a jewish family, was babtised into the church of England at age 12 and Tony Blair waited till after he stood down from the post of prime minister to officially convert to catholicism.

So there you have it.

Law / Can I come to Poland with my girlfriend on the student visa as a dependent? [40]

Man, is it me or each sri lankan has a Polish girlfriend?

He hasnt, he wants to bring his girlfriend from Sri Lanaka.

POLAND IS NOT AN EASY ROUTE INTO THE EU. In fact, it's probably one of the hardest ways in!

Unless they marry a Pole and then they are "free as a bird" and usually enquiring about family EEA permits to the UK! :(

History / Slavic vs Germanic thinking.... and the philosophical differences [251]

The average age in Poland is 37.

Look at the mortality rates in their country, 16% of women die in child birth along with the child and a further 15% of childen die before they reach the age of 5 - I think the "average" Afghani lives to the ripe old age of circa. 50. The only reason that certain minorities are thriving in the West is because they have access to health care and wealfare they wouldnt have in their own countries..

You just sounded like Souther and his "Balkan bananas" :D

BB could never be likened to him..thats just unfair to say :p

This is where precisely where Slavs and Germanics differ. Poles are more family oriented although this can be a stereotype sometimes.

What a crock of shyte "Germanics are colder" tsk! Children / adults stay at home longer because of social and economic reasons...not because they are actually wanted there!

I think in temperament and, to some extent, by history. Both are rugged in the main and proud in the same way.

Could say the Welsh are the same then...

Love / Scottish & Polish relationships [229]

I think Seanus is from Aberdeen area. They have a similar thing with sheep which shed their fleeces and become beautiful girls. When they put the skin back on they become sheep again... "and so concludes the case for the defence, my lord!"

PMSL.
(that was actually really really funny!)

Poles and Scots are really pretty close, almost cut from the same cloth.

In what way? You could say Poles and Pakis are cut from the same cloth, both cant wait to get out of their respective countries and both a penchant for opening corner shops..

Law / Can I come to Poland with my girlfriend on the student visa as a dependent? [40]

It's obvious that you can't support yourself in Poland, and now you want to bring baggage, too

How cruel - wont it be a bit cold in the hold for her? ;0)

I was going to comment on this thread, but after I told him that his chances of Polish citizenship are zero without a job, he got a bit shirty and told me "Im going in the wrong direction"

News / UK might have anti-Polish socialist Prime Minister [29]

The Miliband brothers (David and Ed) are the key axis in the UK Labour Party.

Are they? Since no one has been elected to respresent the Party, you should think before you write.

Shame their family did everything to promote Stalinism in Europe and throttle Poland at birth.

Cry me a river!!

One branch of the family left Warsaw to fight on the Bolshevik side in 1920 and entered the close circles of Stalin.

Was he the only Pole that did that? You missed out the fact they are Jews as well..my my...that was a miss opportunity!

Another branch tried its best to infiltrate high English circles

The upper classes didnt need infiltrating you fool...They were quite happy to cavort with the likes of Hitler in the 1940s, his policies were quite welcomed by them, which means I doubt that a marxist Jew would have been mixing with these kind of people..God you are stupid!

You've already posted about the Millibands before..give it up!

The majority of the gay bashers on here are Polish who think that gay people are evil and could be cured with therapy!

Read the recent Jewish thread and see the anti-semetic behaviour.

In the UK we're pretty open minded about gay men and women and have thriving Jewish communities, if people who come to this country dont respect this and act in a backwards manner than, quite frankly, they're not welcome.

UK, Ireland / Brit Polonia fighting anti-Polish stereotypes [46]

Oh dear, yet more whining..

But lets be truthful here - having spent a considerable amount of my time on this forum and known a few Poles in my time, I would say its pretty much true that a vast majority are homophobic and anti-semetic. As for stealing jobs..undercutting would be more apt. But as we all know, if you feel the grass is greener on the other side and dont like what the Brits say, you can always go home or stop complaining ;0)
