Fuel, graphite, water, concrete and hight temperature gave many interesting alloys inside sarcophagus.

Who is going to go in and get them though....?

Here is film taken at Chernobyl just after the explosion...these poor guys were were working in radiation a million times above normal , a fatal dose , protected by only a dust mask that most chose not to wear because it was hard to breath wearing it....

The guy who made the film later died from the radiation....

Is that the football film...?

I have not seen that one , and i don,t know if its based on a true story or not...?

Aha...the film was called escape to victory....

It was based loosely on a book about such events , but the real story was about Ukrainian teams who played against the Germans during the occupation of Ukraine... They won most of their matches against the Germans....

They all wound up in concentration camps...where most of them died...

So..... almost a true story....

Colditz was used for the same reason....

I believe Colditz was for army officers.... Zagan was for RAF and USAF prisoners , although they had other nationalities , including a bunch of Russians...

Are you sure that your house withstand approx.300km/h wind?

Nope...but if you know you are in an area subject to big winds i think it would be easy enough to construct a small shelter that can stand up to such a wind...

anything underground with a concrete roof would be safe enough...

One of the things they were most worried about when Chernobyl went pop , was that the molten core would seep deep enough into the earth to contaminate the water table over a vast area...

I guess if they put them underground it would make it easier for such contamination to happen....??

I suspect the cost of digging big holes to put these things in may be a factor also...

You have to remember also , that the Russians are not big on nuclear safety....not so long ago they were taking nuclear subs out of service...and dumping the reactors in the Baltic...

When hundreds of workers and soldiers worked to cover the destroyed reactor at Chernobyl in tons of concrete and metal , did we think the problem was over....?

Did we realise that this concrete bunker built over the mess was just a temporary structure , and that its nearing the end of its life...!

Work has been underway for a few years now to construct the new cover for the radioactive mess that was the reactor , but at present they have only half the money needed to complete the job....

One of the walls of the building has a huge crack in it , and has quite a lean on it....

Are we worried in Poland...?

When the reactor exploded the wind was blowing towards Belarus , and not Poland....will we be lucky next time....?

Thousands of Tigers are still being built every month , by model makers all over the world...Its the most popular of all the model tank kits , and outsells all other types...

Even in Russia the models of the Tiger are more popular than models of the T34....says something...!

I think its a natural instinct to remain at your home if at all possible...

I think i would prefer to ride it out at home , providing i had a strong safe place to hide in , and plenty of supplies...

Not forgeting the Maus ( mouse ) of course which was the biggest tank to be built during the war....

The huge monster never saw action though , it was blown up to prevent capture by the Russians....

The Russians put it back together using parts from another one , and some spare parts , the only example of this huge tank is now in the Kubinka tank museum near Moscow...

mmm a Tiger 111 , why not , but i think no modern tank could have the superior advantage the old Tiger 11 had in world war 2....

Vastly outnumbered , underpowered , with a few mechanical faults , it nevertheless scared the hell out of anyone that came up against it....
