Life / Racism and for what? (story of Egyptian guy's living in Poland) [149]

But they're a bunch of pussies. Even when they have numerical superiority, they'll step back when you make it clear that you're up for a fight. I've never had any problems until my friend from the states came over, who's a bit darker. Anyway, those losers can't fight. Some of the hooligans on the other hand are pretty hardcore, but only tend to fight when provoked, and it's usually one on one.

It's like that everywhere here in the States too. Big tough guys when in a group you see him later on by himself he's looking around where to vanish. Them guys in Poland who weight lift or take martial arts classes who go sober to football matches just to fight have some tough guys amongst them.

any problems until my friend from the states came over, who's a bit darker.

What was your friend Mexican?

UK, Ireland / Is UK the new cradle of antipolonism? [161]

National Insurance

I 'm not quite sure if this would work in the States. Big corporations get their way through corruption we'd be paying double or triple for everything.

We dont have to pay for health insurance, we have a national health service that provides for us

I guess that's why people in America pay lower taxes, we don't have that unless we purchase health insurance.

UK, Ireland / Is UK the new cradle of antipolonism? [161]

Years ago benefits were not as generous as they are now, and people were more willing to get their backs bent

Just out of curiosity, how much does a British national or a foreign legal resident get out of benefits in the UK? money, health insurance, him/his family. I've read that out of the developed nations the United States gives the least, supposedly the Danes are most generous?!

Only people who are truly half-half will say it - and even then, many of them will identify with Britain, not the 'other' country. I know someone who holds an Irish passport, was born in Dublin - yet self identifies as British as she's lived there since she was 2. The Irish passport is just a minor note.

That's because she was just 2 years of age when she left Ireland. I know a woman who left Poland when she was just 1 she considers herself strictly American. Her being Polish she considers as her roots, something second. Though like I said she was just 1 she has no recollection of Poland doesn't have friends there and speaks bad Polish. It all depends on far and if one has assimilated into their new homeland.

I mingle very well with many Poles, joke around with them and have interesting discussions with them. I may even get full residence soon (my first school fecked that up by not telling me to register, sharks)

Are you gonna try and get Polish citizenship eventually?

In one sense, they are as British but I do not see foreigners as being as British as my family, not a chance. If you follow that logic, an American-Pole is every bit as much a Pole as a Pole that is originally from Poland.

Well said. I wouldn't see some German for example who moved to Poland to be as Polish as I who was born there, speaks the language fluently and who's ancestor were Polish. Just like here I meet Polish-Americans he knows just a few words in Polish or none at all, has never been there, isn't quite sure what part of Poland his descendants came from or the closest identifying thing he has with Poland is saying proudly he ate some Golabkis last night.

But I am afraid the Poles, with their weird fascination for everything Yankish will shop there.

How would you know you're not even Polish? you have a different mentality and can't possibly know what will be to Polish tastes. The fact is Poles were always fascinated by and held American products highly. , music, movies, clothing, foods you name it. Sounds like a big of jealousy.

The only problem is that Poles want everything American. Been to a KFC, McDonalds or Pizza Hut lately?

to coś dobrego koleżanko My cousin back in Poland says brands for casual clothing like American Polo and Tommy Hilfiger are most popular nowadays, ones that hardly anyone new about few years back. I don't think anyone with style wears Big Star or Mustang jeans anymore?

Love / Polish men are their own special breed ... [96]

The general conclusion is that slavic men rule.

Well it definitely is different for a western girl dating one. I think Slavic men are more unpredictable and do things on instinct so girls like that. They never know what going to happen while dating us.

News / EU presidency to cost Poland 110 million euro [33]

I'm surprised Tusk just kept his head down and let him make a dummy out of him. Maybe wrong comparison but he did have a point the economic hardship and total lack or democracy and freedom during Soviet rule was much worse than this 'tragic situation' currently in the EU. And from what I remember Tusk is the one who wants to help Greece.

EU's Barry Madlener:we don't need Polish unemployed & Romanian beggars

An MP for the anti-Islam party PVV in the European parliament has been accused of being a racist during a debate on the Polish presidency of the EU in Strasbourg.

During the debate, Barry Madlener said the Netherlands 'does not want to pay for the upkeep of the Polish unemployed or Romanian beggars', according to Dutch media reports.

And there was this....
