UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

Do u c urself as more of an American or as a Pole?

American , because I live here, but Polish by blood ( ethnic background)
theres no mixed blood, all four grandparents and both parents are Polish.

America is all ethnic..

and to answer your above post, I can assure lol the forum that I am confident in
knowing which continent I live upon and which one you do :))) does that satisfy
your question ?

sorry this took so long, I was cooking dinner..

Love / The age of consent in Poland is only 15 [147]

well, one thing we do agree on, age should make a difference, because 15 years
is not old enough to be responsible to take care of a child should they become
pregnant, so keep in mind anyone over the age of 25 whos looking at a girl of 15
yes you are too old and this is preverted. if you are a young man of 15 who's brain
isnt developed enough, but everything else has, its understood, but this is where
some heavy education should be applied to learn that mistakes can cause
major devastation to the girl he is dating, and or how is he going to take on his
responsibility when he isnt even old enough to drive..

USA, Canada / Do many Polish people in America hate Americans? [592]

After being deported from the US I repatriated to my fatherland Germany.
I am learning German.

well apparently your doing something in the united states that warranted your
deportation.. and possibly suspicious too. I find your posts suspicious because you
said father land was germany yet your learning it??

you make no sense, my thoughts are you are from muslim country of some sort.
or someplace else, with talk of spying and all. seems really funny, but hey.. I could
be wrong..

News / Poland - Third World Country?? [300]

I didn't see it but I know what you mean. Anyone saying Poland is a third world country (particularly here) is only saying it to cause trouble...

agree, apparently they either want to stir up a crowd or have a bad attitude towards
poland , to which there is really no reasons other then their own selfish reasons.

I finally got my 2.5 weeks

yeah, I hear that one, mine is in spurts.. like this weekend, I get 4 day weekend, but
its so close to christmas who can travel? and where I work, they dont let us take
any vacation time from dec 15th to jan 5th because staffing is so bad.

so people call off if they want the extra days.. they dont win either way..
me I always work,, have to have that time and half plus double time :))

Love / My Polish wife doesn't want to move to the UK with me - what to do? [96]

well as the_falkster says, he made no effort to communicate prior to his marriage
which is important to both , especially if your marrying someone from another
country, you have to take into consideration that this will be a issue later on .. so it
has to be talked about.. unless one or the other is willing to commit to living in either
country its a lost cause really.. she wants to stay near her family. he is homesick.

but it will be the same with her, he will be near his family and she will be homesick.
a no win situation.

Love / My Polish wife doesn't want to move to the UK with me - what to do? [96]

there are a few more dimensions to the story...

well I agree with all of your posts,, you show very much that marriage is supposed to
be a committment and also to compromise in such situations.. thats what its all
about,, they both need to sit and seriously discuss whats going to be best for their
future and work on it.. its for better and worse.. either way you both have to
get on the same wave to sail calm waters.

They care much more about having a (junk) food 4 or 5 days a day

Grossly exaggerated big time.. who can afford daily junk food? and if we did
eat so wastefully.. well I guess we would all be dead from diabetes at the age of
20...

Elaborate please.

tired of people putting down Americans calling them fat and lazy..

its ok to say you either like someone or not. but Its really tiresome to look on
here and see this when Americans ( especially those who are Polish by decent)
are called fat and lazy and who deserves that? many Americans , especially those
who are polish by decent.. think very highly of their Polish Brothers and sisters.. and
really care alot about what happens to poland, Ive not met one person who says
anything bad. nor do they accuse them of being theifs, racists, bigots bias etc etc
we just care, thats all. I come here all the time, so yeah, I will get over it..
but I can guarantee, those who come here that are new from the US and see this
posted are going to get upset and its going to turn them away from the one country
they felt close too...

I dont know why people say such things like they know ,, that why I said that,...
sorry if you take offense, but its the way I feel anymore.. oh well life goes on right.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people moving back home from the UK? [68]

the more that go home the better it is for the british

explain yourself lenny..

and what about other immigrant groups ? .....Somalians etc...

yes, this is valid point.

Nigerian folks (nigerian scammers) not all, but they are doing some damage.

are making a bad name for the uk . And its all because of these
scams, most are based in the uk.. and some think the polish are hurting the economy..

Genealogy / Vintage Photos of Polish ancestors [144]

my father was marrying an Irish/English woman (my mother), she threw a hissy fit because he was marrying outside of his ethnic group.

this was not unusual, because I think it was encouraged to stick within their own
but after certain time periods, it was just accepted. there was nothing anyone could
do. I heard same stories.

All the time I was thinking please show me a picture of someone in a happy pose saying cheese for the camera. What can you say though...."Oh yes now thats a good one of uncle Piotr, he looks realy well there. How did he die?"

as akward as it sounds, people do ask.. health information is a asset to the family
because so many things are genetic , and i have asked-without sour looks they tell
me and I offer any new info to them, because its a form of preventative medicine..

it doesnt hurt anyone to be informed and knowlegable of family health issues. and
if you can get info further back , then hang onto it, because its vital and might help
in your care if its a direct family member or close sibling.

One aunt pulled out a box full of photo's and proceded to show them to me explaining to me who the particular relative was.

I suppose at a certain stage in our lives we realize how distant all of our families
have become, and hope one twinkle in the eye, spark of interest for pictures and
family knowledge might be the person you send all of your history to.

so maybe your aunt was looking for that spark , that you might have yawned thru
or just didnt look interested in.. so many of us have done it, I regret that I didnt
start sooner. because all my family is almost gone, except for one aunt/uncle who
seemed to surpass everyone.. I dread that call.. I hope it takes quite a few more
years truthfully.

I wish My parents were here to share all the found memories/interesting facts
and new relatives that I have found over the last 4 years of doing this. :)

I think we all should take a little bit more time to listen and understand :)

UK, Ireland / How many of your co-workers in the UK are Polish? [30]

pick on someone in a packing line,

that isnt what I was getting at.. in some instances, minorities are treated differently
( unfortunately) and the person who manages is the one who is/has to deal with
punishment accordingly.

I have seen in my work witnessed the good and the evil and seen people shot down
for not being able to communicate accordingly with the public. to me this is unfair and
I have also witnessed the good come out in several who came together to bring this
to someones attention.. i just wonder how its dealt with in other countries.. to which
I am sure even someone from America would have same experiences with jobs in
Europe and or communication ..

UK, Ireland / Polish immigration in UK [491]

the Uk

there should be concerns,, the amount of immigrants exceeds what was thought
and there is housing concerns, jobs concerns.. it isnt like the uk is one huge country
like the united states where people can be asorbed into the economy.. even
Ireland should be a big concern..

the process of immigration was supposed to be slow. I dont think people would
have even minded if it would have happened slower.

I dont blame the polish for wanting better, but they should be feeling the crunch as
well. it cant be good when so many go and the jobs are scarcer then ever due to
overloaded economy!

UK, Ireland / How many of your co-workers in the UK are Polish? [30]

How many are Polish and what is the treatment of Polish workers?

would you say good, fair, bad? does everyone work together for fair practice?

didnt clarify this- how many in the uk ..

the uk is full of immigrants, muslim, poles, etc.. same as the states , to which
in my work place, most of my co-workers have some background of polish but
no one is from Poland directly except one girl I know named gosia who came around
10 years ago .

for other nationalities , i say at least 3 percent average and the treatment overall
is exceptional. at least what I have observed.. I am sure there are some bad
incidents in all areas.
