We can afford and bought house but not everyone can and not everyone wants ....

Although my husband is English and we don't live, like some Polish families, in a council flat or 6 to one house,.....

Annamaria,

Don't be upset. When peple write ( no body language, nop tone of voice...) they are not always understood exactly the way they want to.

I also found your statement bit superior but maybe it was not your intend..

"Council house" sounds bit negative but there are lots people who live in council houses and pay rent to council.Soemtimes they buy this house later form council.

What is wrong with it? No everyone can afford to buy house.

Yes, when a Pole wants to moan they winge about the British, if they can’t find a Russian, Jew, somebody with a better suntan than them, German…

British are far on our list....you forgot about government, politicians, Church.....

We could both write a book about our "whinging international experiences" as you have polish grilfriend an I have English husband.:)

Also, the so-called Healthy Life Expectancy in the UK is actually lower than in Poland.

I am not so sure what is it but I have impression that people in UK live much longer than in Poland.
We burn ourselves too quickly.

Rafik,

I think that lots polish people in UK rent houses, flats.....

But if someone moves here with family it should be relatively decent one.

That is why I still don't know why they move here....I am not malicious it is just curiosity?

UK has a lower suicide rate than any of the countries mentioned, so we may be unhappy but we are less suicidal

But you are quite big whingers and moaners...:)

I know what you mean. But do you think that these children speak so good 2 languages? Moving them between 2 countries different language, culture, school programmes?

Isn't it a bit selfish?

I don't think that living children in Poland is so good idea. They should be with parents.
I just don't know if theya re relaly so better off doing it?

It could be really better for those still living with their parents in some crowded conditions.

Not really it depends what they want to gain in their lives. ( it doesn't matter in Poland or England....)

Life / Alcohol problems of Polish people [141]

Oh, I don't care about that. I had my fun a travels in life. If I slow down a little it doesn't mean that I am not cool. I never really cared what other thought of me, but what I think of myself.

You have good attitude.

I find it a bit shallow getting drunk.....main attitude for Saturday night.

I don't understand it.

1-2 years ago there were mainly single people or couples who worked in Uk. Some of them came back some settled in Uk and started family.

Now, there are more and more families who have moved here with small children. Is it better here? Very high house prices, council taxes, .....

How long it take to save for deposit to get mortgage here?
If they have to rent house....after all renting costs are they really better here?

it si strange as British people are fed up with house prices here and move to Italy, France, USA......

Travel / Just back from Krakow [120]

Okay, well please explain to me why British men go to Prague - get drunk go in strip bars and come home with nothing but empty pockets and tales of sh*gging???? whilst other nationalities go to Prague visit the sights??? I'm ashamed to be English when I see people abusing beautiful cities and acting like idiots...

Amathyst,

Everyone knows that not all English behave like this.

I suppose each nationality has group of people they are ashamed of.

I remember ( few years ago) there were stories about Polish in Austria, Germany...stealing cars, from shops.... It was not very nice as I suppose there were little gangs doing it but yes..word polish sounded there quite negative.

I was reading that English woman are the biggest binge-drinkers in Europe.

But there is one difference in drinking customs between Poland and Uk.

One of my English friend pointed it out to me. In Poland you can see drunk person in the morning on the street, during a day.....In UK( especially) weekend's evenings are nightmare lots drunk, loud people....but you don't see many of them during a day.

Where are the? I know that in College arms( cheap beer...) there are usually quite a few alcoholics any time of day....But you don't really see many wobbly people.

I drink to, maybe once every 6 months, sorry to have such a crappy feeling towards it
but, watching people I love around me die , well, nuff said.

Patrycja,

You can't do much about it.Alcoholics are like drug addicts if they don't decide that they are ready to change noone can do it for them.

I am not so bad at sarcasm but probbaly more when I speak than when I write.

It is probbaly tone of my voice, body language......

Anyway even you have very low opinion abut my understanding of english language ( I of course disagree :) I am not so bad at understanding sarcasm.

But..... it is sometimes very thin line between being sarcastic and being malicious......

...probably....my appaling spelling.

We don't speak to Welsh as noone likes them ( including English) they are too xenophobic and unpleasant living on little land but thinking that they are in the centre of universe.

Of course I know little else. It's like having your favourite meal and drink every day. Quite addictive.

that is true, but you need similar-minded people otherwise they can take you too seriously...:)

I will not pander to you or anyone else for the sake of a false 'warm and fuzzy' feeling.
If you can't read (English or Polish) it's not my concern. What is though, is consistency of understanding.

Your power of observation is quite poor ..I don't behave typical womanly.. I am only "allergic" to snobbish people who look down at others. that is all. There is no reason for it. ,

I think that you have problems with understanding not me and it is rather sad as it is your native language.

What do you mean by false and warm fuzzy feeling? I am far away from it.

I don't want ot be rude but I think that you have some problems with interacting with women.

I still didn't change my my mind about what I was reading and understanding. It doesn't matter how many insults I will hear again .

But I changed my mind about You H- You are quite nasty piece of work.
If you are such a great brain maybe you should go on Cambridge -Oxford philosophical posh snobbish web.

I suppose it is better like me I am polish who lives in Uk. I don't think I will ever apply for british passport as in the end of the day I will be always Polish. Passport, citizenship doesn't really change someone's identity.

Hobbitual,

I copied part of Casper post from differet thread:

If people feel bad about themselves, they will often run others down, as this makes them feel superior. It is a common trait in most bully/losers.

I completely agree.

Uk feels as second category citizen in UK..... so he thinks that he is better than emigrants but unfortunately he is not....
