Life / Freelance English teacher - Are Polish people unreliable? They continually cancel lessons... [22]

I think it is more a matter of prospective students picking up on your negativity and short-term outlook and realizing it won't be money worth spending.

So, so this and what Natasia said.

I've had no problems keeping students, and even had a few ask to keep on with me once I left the school I taught at. I've only had a few reschedules, they were very valid reasons, and I never had any problems collecting the money for the missed lessons (my cancellation policy is no later than 20:00 the night before).

Travel / How come no one ever seems to pay for the bus in Poland? [63]

I get checked 2 or 3 times a month at least.

Yeah, even though the inspectors are very active in my town, I always see at least two people getting a fine each time the inspectors show up. Then again, I don't know how much he fines are.

Travel / How come no one ever seems to pay for the bus in Poland? [63]

My friend lives in Wroclaw and claims he never pays for tickets. He rarely gets stopped by inspectors, and when he does he claims the ticket machine is broken and they let him go (don't know if that still works with the new machines inside the bus).

Anyway, in my town, I run into an inspector at least once a week, sometimes more, so it's not even worth it.

The odd thing that happened to me, however, was there was once a ticket control inside a train. Not the regular conductor who comes through and stamps your ticket, but about five men in suits with badges. Scared the living heck out of me because I'd misplaced my ticket. Thankfully, the conductor who stamped me assured them I had it, and they sat and waited until I found it.

No idea what would have happened if I didn't find it.

Love / Why are Polish men so scared of women? [8]

Polish men are like the Polish football team. Great on defense but cannot score to save their lives.

My dating experience is limited, but basing my own perception on that, the warnings of my friends, and seeing the experiences of my friends, things just seem to be different here. Not in a bad or good way, per se, but definitely different. Serious relationships seem to work great, but casual dating seems to be tricky for some reason.

I don't think it's a fear of women, I don't know what it is.
