UK, Ireland / Can a Polish mother bring her child to England without the fathers consent? [22]

She would be a fool to do so. It's called Parental abduction and Poland isn't to friendly with Poles who abduct out of the country. Abducting in is a different matter.

Without doubt the English courts will return the child to Poland, not matter how strong her protestations or the child's (assuming the child is under 12).

It will be an incredibly expensive venture as this is high court stuff and she won't get legal aid.

Tell her not to be stupid and to make an agreement, that is witnessed by a legal professional or notary.

Don't do this and chances are it will end very very very badly for all concerned, especially the child.

Real Estate / Prices of agricultural land in Poland [39]

the scam

It's hardly a scam really is it. Its just not ethical parasiting off people who are ill informed or have little life experience.

There must be a lot of people in negative equity situations.

UK, Ireland / Ketamine recommended to be upgraded to class B, will this have an impact on Poland? [12]

Ant63:This will have an an impact on Poland.

I didn't add that bit

prescription

The truth is you can buy it over the counter in Poland. It's in lots of pain relief medication. Prescription not required.

Dentists prescribe it in Poland after particular painful interventions.

They even give a kit to inject yourself when you have a bad back.

A little old but basically states ketamine is for medical procedures mainly in children

For children I think the side effects would be particularly undesirable. It brings on severe nightmares and halucinations. Not the purple haze of sixties acid although that had some pretty nasty side effects for some people.

UK, Ireland / Ketamine recommended to be upgraded to class B, will this have an impact on Poland? [12]

Under the new classification, illegal possession of ketamine could lead to a five-year jail sentence.

Ketamine is an anaesthetic used for operations on humans and animals that has become a popular recreational drug.

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25301908

Kettamine recommended to be upgraded to class B. This should keep the UK border force busy and be a problem for Poles in the UK.

Life / Lack of human rights in Poland? [132]

Something else that maybe should taken into account regarding the Polish Police is that one of the senior officers said that a lot of them (police officers) came from "Pathological Families". Having witnessed first hand an unprovoked assault by four officers in Stary Rynek Poznan, I am preprepared to side with szczecinianin to a certain extent but not fully. Personally I wouldn't trust a Polish policeman and as a general rule, few Polish people I speak too, have little faith in them either.

UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

How much would things cost if haulage companies had to pay for the roads and their upkeep?

I believe they make a significant contribution through taxation in the UK at least. Its hard to see what the "Grand Plan" regarding road haulage was or is across the EU. The plan has certainly damaged the UK haulage industry when trying to compete with extremely low wages and lower fuel costs.

UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

It's extremely annoying, I agree.

+1 It's tedious listening to this drivel.

georgie_96:
so my point is not all polish sit around using our system,

She is quite correct. What the poster fails to recognise is that due to the extremely low incomes EE's generally work for they are supported by other benefits which the UK government is more reluctant to reveal. Fortunately while the UK government were quite happy to say 14,000 the EU were more generous and said 600,000. Another misconception peddled in particular by the BBC is the financial benefit that immigration has brought. If the non A8 European countries are removed from the equation I believe the financial benefit is negative to the tune of £95bn.

Ironside if you want a real picture of what's going on extremely biased report from the BBC. The BBC are pro immigration. The comments below are more relevant than the article.

UK, Ireland / How to make my Polish friend's dad like me [25]

Exactly. You're English(I guess), it's for you to accept him if you are in your homeland. What on earth are you thinking by diminishing yourself in a such a way. You certainly don't need to learn Polish; quite the opposite.

UK, Ireland / Former minister admits UK messed up on immigration [78]

BS , that influx have been beneficial for many people

I really really want to know what the benefits are that people allude to. The big lie is that it benefited anybody but the unscrupulous.

working class and those unskilled have been put against the wall

Some just didn't want to join the race to the bottom.

UK, Ireland / Former minister admits UK messed up on immigration [78]

What I said is that a lot of a certain group of British people are lazy (and fairly understandably lazy at that).

I think your wrong. Its not understandable when 400,000 have lost their benefits for not even making the effort to look for jobs. Its a simple process but some can't be bothered to make the effort.

UK, Ireland / Former minister admits UK messed up on immigration [78]

we aren't racist scum

In this politically correct age its almost impossible to comment without appearing racist.

The UK has some interesting times ahead, that's for sure. If, as predicted by Mr Farage, huge numbers will arrive here again, I fully expect a reaction of some sort which will present a problem for all immigrants. Lets face it, Nigel is rarely wrong with his predictions. Greece, Portugal, Spain, Italy for example. The UK has been simmering for some time; turning the heat up now will most likely be disastrous.

You never know it may even bring the referendum forward.

Travel / In last place was Polish airline LOT [22]

There's something really fishy about this.

Nothing fishy, just facts as recorded. Why on earth should there be something fishy about it. The Cold War is over. I believe there was a LOT flight over Heathrow that was involved in a near miss because the pilots couldn't speak English well enough.

Life / Child Adoption in Poland? [138]

These kind of selfish demands for international adoptions have created an industry

An industry that should not be perpetuated!!

to adopt here in South Africa for 4 years now, unsuccessfully

So you have been unsuccessful. Perhaps there is good reason. Often there is!!

and they changed the price from $35,00 to $50,000

Just like any other commodity. They go up. They go down. depends on the colour mostly.

$50,000

Have a quiet word with the local bishop. Maybe he can do you a better deal.

The child will still get to live in his or her home country

We will be there for three years in Warsaw.

Make your mind up

national agencies can see our house and our living condition and where my kids are going to school that it would actually work in our favor.

I think your mental state is going to be the deciding factor.

We are Catholic and my husband will be at the US Embassy

Bonus points there then

I am not giving up

If you didn't make the grade Stateside, give up.

ITS POLAND NOT A USED CAR LOT.

UK, Ireland / Wish to adopt a newborn baby from Poland (we live in the UK) [7]

Hello, We( me and my wife) wish to adopt a newborn baby from poland

Maybe your intentions are good but most likely questionable. there are plenty of children everywhere waiting to be adopted. And don't think for a minute your are going to conceal the truth from the child. It WILL catch up with you.

New born babies are in huge demand, and it's highly unlikely that you'll even be considered to adopt one.

What about calling up the church, they usually have a few for sale. 1772 sold with paperwork in 2010, I believe. Then of course there are the sales that go unrecorded.

Travel / How does wizz air compare with ryanair? [32]

how can parent with infant/small child be boarded last

Simply not true in my experience. Usually they are pretty helpful. Both airlines I'm talking about. It tends to be Polish passengers that are intolerant and hurl abuse. The English passengers tend to keep their intolerance to themselves. Just ignore the the selfish buggers. I do.

Law / How can I find out if a Polish citizen owns a property? [5]

Is it possible to find out if a Polish citizen owns a house? Not a house that they live in or a house that is known to you; any old house. If so who can or has access this info?

This is for protection not malicious reasons before someone has a go.

What about young english girls that have children

Have you not noticed that a lot of young Polki's have joined this exclusive club. Maybe the English youths have a higher sperm count.

The only thing that I think should be done is to deport any one of foreign persuasion who commits a crime immediately.

News / Lech Walesa vs Immigration: Brits humiliated him at London Heathrow Airport [105]

I wonder if you guys are able to provide arguments to prove your point without making jabs at Poles.

If you have travelled by aircraft to Poland and back, you would know exactly what I'm talking about. It's a shame you are not allowed to get your camera out or I'd video it. I'm just saying what I see as tactfully as possible. Stop being so blinkered.
