Law / UK Citizen - Detox Centre Fine from Poland [26]

Honestly do you not know the definition of the word gender? lol

yes I do, and only idiots use it these days. I have my own reason for rejecting this silly word, but it would take a whole other thread to go through it. 'lol' and you probably wouldn't get it.

You asked what you should do about the fine - I suggested you pay it to avoid future problems. I don't have any comprehension problems. reading back again, it sounds as though you are looking for reasons to not pay it.

Also, next time you are due a holiday, don't go somewhere where the beer is cheap.

have a great day love.

that could be aimed at any gender, not you specifically 🙄

it's not 'gender' it's sex. Just saying.
You videoed your husband getting lashed and taken to the drunk tank?
OK!
Honestly, love, just pay it. he doesn't have any "rights". He went as a tourist to a foreign destination, got a taste for the cheap alcohol, and couldn't handle it.

Just cough up and move on.

I am not gay though...
I have no idea why any woman would want to be with someone who has such loss of control over a bit of alcohol.<shrugs> I guess he must be a big lad or something. UK people acting like that is pure embarrassing tbh.

Constructively though, I guess just pay it off asap, to avoid further problems

Life / Polish vs British vs American - Clash of cultures [390]

Why would I want greasy bacon sandwich first thing in the morning???

a good bacon sandwich is not "greasy" and is delicious. a far better way to start the day than with horrible French 'croissants' (a roll made of air and flat crumbs,,,mmmm ok)

News / Hollywood's War with Poland. [150]

never simply Dutch, French, etc.

it was Hitler that did that to them , though. Prior to this, there were people in , for example, Vienna, or Berlin who barely knew they were Jewish..until they and their relatives started getting carted off and killed.

And it is nothing like someone asking where you are from and you saying 'Catholic'. don't be silly. It's an entirely different history. Jewishness is more than just a religion.

Like I said , reading is really informative. I do a lot of it..:):)

News / Hollywood's War with Poland. [150]

well in the extensive literature I have read on this topic, it clearly states (invariably) 'Dutch Jews' or 'French Jews'.
- maybe read a little more before making sweeping inaccurate statements.

Life / Is it safe for Indians, Sikhs living here in Poland? Any Temple / Gurudwara in Wroclaw? [159]

My experience from living in the UK and direct contact with "multiculturalism" grounded my belief that a nation-state is the best form of governance.

but surely you would have known that the UK is not a nation state, before you came? you do know what it means right? How could Poland stop being a nation state? it doesn't make sense. UK hasn't ever been a nation state . Well, not for some centuries anyway.

Google it.

Anyway have a great trip back. Don't let the door bang on your way out xx

UK, Ireland / Polish passport - Can I apply from the UK? [51]

She could have had it done at the Polish Embassy in London. She probably said that she had to go back in order to get away from you for a while.

UK, Ireland / British men don't really like women [137]

Not true.My fridge is full of British produce.

fgs you were talking about produced items that would have 'made in England' stamped on, not food. lol. like shoes or machinery..

UK, Ireland / British men don't really like women [137]

I used to see the words 'Made in England' on all sorts of products. Nowadays it would be considered 'racist' to use such a phrase....

don't be ridiculous. Al it means is that there is no longer any industry in England.

Jon, you don't need to use capitals for pronouns when referencing the queen, she is not a goddess.

UK, Ireland / British men don't really like women [137]

In countries such as Britain any interactions with women in the workplace should have strictly professional conduct .

well, good. It has only been like that for a few years btw. up to the 80s and 90s women had to put up with all kind of inappropriate chit chat, 'artwork', and (ahem) 'flirting' in the office. If you think that was a good thing, I suggest you ask your mother or sister how they enjoyed it..

You are there to do a job of work, not harass women.

Crying about the fact that you can no longer do that in the workplace just makes you sound really sad and inadequate.

Language / Polish words that sound funny? [224]

yes I remember back in the day, if there was some deeply weird puppet show on TV at 4am, perhaps a version of Alice in Wonderland, it would invariably be Czech...

Genealogy / Mary Barnawich (?) - Is my great-grandmother from Poland? [28]

I'm so jealous that you were born in Ireland! I'd give anything to go there...preferably live there! Do you have the common red hair, blue eyes, and freckles?

l love American stereotypes. why would you want to live there? it's a desperate place. that is why everyone leaves.
if you want to go there, it does have airports.
