Travel / Suggestion for nightlife in Poland [28]

1 Bucharest or in summer Mamaia. In Poland I would say Warsaw or Sopot but all the big towns are ok
2 yes
3 compared to Britain yes
4 yes
5 much cheaper than Britain. Bucharest and Warsaw can get quite pricey but if you are used to London prices don't worry
6 don't know - both at good for a trip
7 probably Nowhere - but some Croat resorts are going that way
8 your choice

Work / What is the average accounting/auditing salary in Poland? [42]

Well if you were qualified that would make a work permit far easier. Probably you should check with some recruiters. Without being qualified you would probably earn around 6000 zloty and a gym membership.

Life / ZUS / NFZ / Compulsory Health Insurance in Poland - where the money come to/from? [29]

No I am being serious so pour yourself another brandy and chill out :)

You would cut some overheads, but create hundreds of thousands of new unemployed people. As I've said before these people are not mobile and past the age where they are able to re-train, often having burdensome family commitments, starting to get ill as they get older etc.

Unemployment is one of the most dangerous and corrosive forces in society. During shock therapy it was often a model that the man of the house would be fired from a truly uneconomical factory but at least his wife was able to earn a few Zloty pen pushing in some local office.

There is more to life sometimes than dollars and cents, you have to keep people busy and engaged with the community.

Now probably is the time that they can start to rationalise, many towns are close to full employment and technology is becoming cheaper.

Life / ZUS / NFZ / Compulsory Health Insurance in Poland - where the money come to/from? [29]

Doug Regarding the people in local bureaucracies you are right in principle, but there is no other solution for those people at the moment.

they are often quite old, not able to retrain all learn languages and not mobile - many of them double as nannies for their grandchildren. The problem will resolve itself in a few years - meanwhile those are the people who really were often on the streets opposing communism, queueing for bread, and bring up kids in the most difficult of circumstances in the 80s

Life / Health system in Poland one of the worst in Europe: report [78]

Agree with that Terri - ultimately the system will not improve until doctors feel they have good prospects. That really means more tax or a total reform of ZUS.

If you say Dirk that it is a safety net, then you are looking at this with Anglo-Saxon eyes. It is supposed to be a public health service for which all working people contribute. Probably 80 percent of people in Poland have only a few hundred zloty spare income at the end of the month at the moment - they simply don't have the option to splash out say 500 or 600 zloty for a private specialist whenever they want to save a few days wait

Work / What is the average accounting/auditing salary in Poland? [42]

Are you an EU citizen ? If so then you might get something in a back office but probably nothing very stimulating.

If you are not then being honest you will struggle to get a work permit without being qualified (probably full Certified or Chartered accountant - not sure about CIMA)

Real Estate / Farm for sale in Poland - how to find a buyer from other country? [12]

They are not able to buy and would not get away with the dodge of using a Sp z o.o.

There are very few people with a few million euro to spare who would be reading this forum. You would be best off tto use a proper broker.

Want to sell your farm ? Your pool of buyers is existing Polish farmers or the church.

Work / Poland's Internships for English Speakers w/ Polish A2 [2]

Do you have Polish citizenship? If so then your best bet would be to email the big logistics companies and some of the provate logistics schools and tell then what you are looking for - you could also try big retail companies. There is a huge shortage of people with any logistics knowledge at the moment in Poland so you have an outside chance of doing that.

Few companies run formal internship programs - only really banks et cetera.

If you are not a citizen then it's going to be difficult because no one will really want the hassle of getting you a work permit.

News / EU confirms it will take action against Poland over court reforms [554]

Its not as simple as saying everyone has one equal vote - in Poland many votes can be wasted on parties that dont make the threshhold. In the US then your vote has different weight if you are in a swing state.

Winning an election and implementing election promises like the bank tax is fine. However things like the media law and the takeover of the election committee were not mentioned.

News / Did George Soros want to destroy Poland with his economic shock therapy? [87]

That looks quite like a video of some people protesting with a poorly overlaid track of "George Soros where's our money" !

People protest against Trump because that is their right and because he is a moron. Not because they are paid to do so. PiS on the other hand are busing their supporters into town to clap for him and presumably look for the nearest place for a comfortable toilet stop and cup of tea while their varicose veins are playing up.

News / Eggs in Poland paying for the 550+ [8]

Nothing to do with PiS -there have been some scandals in Netherlands about chemicals used in battery farming and it has caused a big shortage and a price increase everywhere. I think the price in Germany has almost doubled so Polish eggs are being exported there.

Work / Is it possible that a Moroccan get a job in Poland? [7]

In fact there is w strong demand for French speakers. I have tried on several occasions to recruit them and the pool is very small.

Not only are they needed in almost all ssc businesses but the French are also he third biggest investors here and big French corps are prominent in pretty much every sector.

Work / Is it possible that a Moroccan get a job in Poland? [7]

A good place to ty might be the Moneygram SSC in Warsaw or a similar SSC. her French and Arabic would be a good asset so they might be prepared to go through the hassle of getting a work permit

Work / Salary & cost of living in Warsaw, Poland [29]

The average wage for a young family in Warsaw would now be above 8000 - both partners might earn 5000. In this case with his wife unable to work Dom is right and it would be a struggle to have even 500 zloty left at month end.

Work / What is deducted from a salary in Poland apart from Income tax? [155]

You can live handsomely on that amount.
Not sure what the umbrella company fee is but if someone is taking 10percent of your cash for finding you a job that does not seem great.

The social security payments entitle you to health and pension benefits in Poland - you cannot reclaim the money when you leave so rather just mentally tear it as an extra tax (the amount looks wrong by the way, so ask your employer to recheck it)

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

Bit of a strange link - a light hearted piece about dogs ? Not sure what this is supposed to prove and not even sure what city it is as people have weird accents - Canada or Australia ?

I did see that the lady has posted some other stuff questioning science so I can guess the rest.

Life / Why are Muslims seen as a deterrent to Poland? [564]

Wrong as usual - British farmers get over 3bn pounds of EU subsidy - higher than most East European countries and roughly the same as Poland.

About 80 percent would be bankrupt without them. British budget was today abd the UK govt will replace these until 2020 after which there is a big question mark. Extra costs of Brexit announced today are higher than the extra amount given to the NHS - so they can stick that on a bus if they want

Brexit - an idiotic idea, voted for by idiots

Well before you talk about clown degrees then maybe tell us what you studied - because it clearly was not maths or anything similar since you struggle with understanding correlations and probability.

Nothing wrong with literature and philosophy by the way- in my view it's one of the things that sets Western civilisation apart.

As fr farming then I know it's complicated as I have a farm. It's a lot more complicated if you vote to leave the EU and it's geneous subsidies LOL some of those British farmers will have plenty of time to think about their decision when they are driving night shifts for Uber.
