They actually seem to want government interference in their daily lives - or those that agree with PIS do anyway.

Welcome to PiƂsudski's II republic the glory years return, a government that cares about the people and cares for people, while upholding the traditions culture religion and ethnic integrity of Poland.

UK, Ireland / No Poles Allowed! - Latest Polonophobic Outrage Out of Britain [660]

Serbia to attract as much as possible Poles and generally Slavs who now live in Britain?

Wait for brexit and for comrade Corbyn to be prime minister, capital flight, job losses and increase in crime and disorder will shortly follow.

Business and people will look for safe places to live and setup factories in Europe, Poland is well placed to receive investment and more of the right people. There are good incentives for new business startups, I also know many like me are looking to leave Britain and enjoy a peaceful retirement in Poland, happy days.

UK, Ireland / No Poles Allowed! - Latest Polonophobic Outrage Out of Britain [660]

Dunno where you've been reading that, but the PRL government made it pretty easy for most people with a connection to Poland to visit.

Shows how little you know about us Poles exiled in the UK.

the authorities didn't hassle ordinary tourists.

That you got right., but Poles who recognised and supported the free Polish government in London had no chance.

Throughout the PRL era there were paid Polish agents who would spy on the activities of the Polish community, they would keep records of Individuals.

Luckily there was a mechanism to communicate between the British Intelligence agencies and the individual Polish clubs ,centres and the government in exile, In most cases these Individuals had to be left in place in case they led the British to the bigger fish, (Handlers), sadly most families ended up with black records back in PRL so no visa for us.

have been there on government work, even when it was clear she was the missus

Yep understandable, the majority of us could not get visas to go to Poland and family in Poland could not get visas to travel to the UK, If people did they were seen as suspicious or considered potential members of the PRL party or in fact spies.

The older community are jealous and afraid of the newer arrivals, and are happy to exploit them

Not sure about that maybe the get something painted on the cheap or a bit of gardening, for sure there was a period when the elders would tut tut them and tell em off for what they considered to be poor behaviour, but its calming down they bring good kasa to the club bar and church is full, so Happy Priest and happy club chairman all have new mercs....

UK, Ireland / No Poles Allowed! - Latest Polonophobic Outrage Out of Britain [660]

Not true for me or or any other post war Pole's I know.

Yep harry because you were never a post war pole that had grown up in the post war Polish community in Great Britain.

And then experienced a rapid influx of young post communist Poles arriving in the country/community , Issues between post war arrivals and new wave are as folllows:-

1. The use of the K word in every sentence and in public.

2. Any Kind of drinking or open drunkenness in the street.

3. any kind of lewd behaviour in public.

4. Not standing up of talking when either the British or Polish national anthems are played at the Polish club.

5. Any kind of anti Church or over liberal talk at the Polish club'

6. Any open homosexuality.

7 Drunk driving or any involvement in crime that shames the community in the press.

probably not an extensive list by all means, and over the years the old school have got more used to the new wave the Polish churches are fuller than they have been in many years plus many more Polish skleps are open, so not all bad, but yes there was and is friction at times.

Poland doesnt treat haters of polish patriotism and christianity well

Not at all, most would have them thrown out of the country.

They are lucky that there is a government and police force that protect them from the general population.

Did you really live in what passes for a democracy in the UK for all those years?

Yes I did live there and yes that system turned the country into a $hithole, Poland has something different going on, and yes I do fit in very well indeed.

Poles so clearly love - because they are too lazy to think for themselves.

Oh what stereotyping nazi propaganda again Doug,, that's what your great grandfather used as an excuse to trade slaves, told you before go home to the UK and moan there otherwise get Polish citizenship and do something about it, you have been in the country long enough.

And yes I do love my Polish Brothers and sisters , I have made more friends here and have been more warmly welcomed than any other country I have lived in.

Yep I agree but lets not over complicate things like the argument over multiple genders, anyway glad you have respect for your roots. You should have your own desk important work all this forum stuff.

Every week there is some anarchist group in Europe tearing up the streets smashing cars and scaring dogs and old people, we will have none of this nonsence here thank you.

Anyway I'm hungry and its snowing, what can I do with a tin of luncheon meat.

counter protesters are being manhandled by the police because

Yeah the same ones that manhandle our politicians, invade and stop parliament, abuse the remembrance of those that have fallen for Poland.

As I said the extreme left as above.

so that the government can introduce lots of new laws curtailing civil rights and freedoms

I doubt that., maybe those on the extreme left or right will be targeted and thats a good thing.

Well

it is necessary "to create legal regulations preventing the use of public collections for financing purposes that are contrary to the principles of social coexistence or an important public interest".

Whats wrong with that , It will stop money going to and subversive or terrorist organisations similar to IRA, soros, commies, antifa, nazis and the islamic state.

Wait and see what they block , then we can discuss the rights and wrongs of their actions.

We're all supposed to be democracies so it's not considered necessary.

Well the OSCE has and will watch Poland, especially in the current climate, so stop worrying.

Atch respectfully, get you citizenship vote to make your voice heard, and make a change if it worries you.

but also more or less impossible to maintain under the conditions that PiS are setting out.

Yea but they are miles away from being far right, and Catholicism is ingrained in the nation, I know there are more people tuning their backs on the old ways but thats their problem, they can leave if they don't like it same way I left Britain because I didnt like it.

Sounds like a nice idea

You have made some very sound comments and observations, but what is the alternative? have Poland follow the same political road that Britain and Germany have taken, yes they have made money but their society has almost disintegrated and to be honest its not nice to live in those places I sold up in Austria full of beggars now.

You have to admit what's happening in Poland is something different, we shall see how things unfold, the government can be voted out at the next election if the people don't like it.

What gets me on this forum is that there are many people who are vocal and passionate about the state of current Polish politics BUT even after decades of living here they do nothing about citizenship so have no vote or say as to what happens, go figure i don't get it?

You need a balance of experienced

No we don't want them Poland needs new blood and modern tactics, how to bash people over the head during Marshall law has no place here.

Do you really believe that the Cotswolds

Lol Atch that's where the elite and Jeremy Clarkson live with their gated communities and private security, I still have a place in the UK (where normal people live) and there have been three murders within two miles in the last two years, guess how many murders there have been in the last four years within ten miles of my place here.

Atch, I see all you have written as good,

We don't want army personnel who have history serving PRL, we need new modern officers , sandhurst and ocs.

Yes we need to be able to review old cases , some nasty pieces of PRL work got off lightly, good that they will have to squirm, infact its good that any criminal will have to watch over their shoulder for 20 years.

plenty of life experience and from growing up in the UK

Yep and I watched it turn into a crime ridden unsafe cesspit, I don't want the same for Poland.

Yep I will get some Guinness in and raise a glass to the good old days down the limerick pub circa 1975.

idea of an authoritarian right wing government dismantling the modern Polish state

Well lets hope the polish people have a vote on all this and the toothless joke article 7 , I know what the answer will be.

Polish people do not want the EU poking its nose into Polish law an politics , even with the law changes Poland is a long way from being a totalitarian state ,

Atch ,There are no Russian tanks on the polish border to come to the rescue of a rouge Government, I think you underestimate the Polish people if you think we or our army would allow any kind of regime to form in Poland , we would disembowel it literally.

Its the daily mail you need to read if you want all the facts lol,

Anyway I am all light and fluffy today hope you are feeling the same.

History / Is there a Western/Eastern divide in Poland like the Northern/Southern divide in Italy? [38]

Yes, our untermenschen families experienced that first hand.

There was some payback on a small scale, every time my father captured a Uebermensch (that was the job of his unit) he made sure they knew who it was that had caught them half asleep while on guard duty, boy did they squeal about the Geneva convention and the need to be handed over to British units, sadly their requests mainly fell on deaf ears.

News / EU confirms it will take action against Poland over court reforms [554]

but that judgement could force the hand of the European Commission

Appears very contrived to me , Ireland is setting the trap for Poland shame on them, wonder what Ireland will be given by the EU for selling Poland out.

Its a political rat trap and you've been caught. as bob would say.
