No, it's not. No one can guarantee you that one of them won't be radicalized in the future. Same goes for the kids of law abiding British citizens who happen to be muslims. You guys tend to forget that most of the disgusting animals who were/ are responsible for the past and recent attacks in Britain have been British citizens. Born and bred in the U.K.! What do you suggest how this issue should be resolved? Deport them based on their faith? That's like kicking out the Tatars in Poland because they are muslim. Prohibit Islam? Then you'd have to do the same for Buddhism, Christianity and every other faith. Legally, you can't do much. Unless you want to copy the Germany of the mid 1930's, that is.

Depends on whether the microfiches are already indexed or not. I haven't checked, but very often they are not. Even if, I would still not trust any transcribed record in the LDS database. Too many errors and unreliable.

IMO, your only chance will be to go through the scans of the vital records and church books yourself. Since you know the birth date of your great grandfather, it should be fairly easy to find his other siblings and then the names and marriage record of the parents. Provided of course, the relevant documents have survived the wars. Order the microfilms from Salt Lake or write to the Polish state archive that is holding the originals would be my advice. Many catholic church books are already online, and so are civil registration records. The Polish state archives did a really good job in the past couple of years.

The information you gave is a little confusing.. There's only one Anthony Kopczyk listed in the Social Security Death Index, but he was born 10 Dec 1894 and died in Michigan in Nov. 1963. Also, I found a Valeria Kopczyk in the index. Are these individuals related to your family?

First of all: according to Wikipedia, Radio Marya was founded in 1991. How come that Mr. Nowak had an interview there in 2008? I said that in another thread already: the EU members are only good Europeans as long as Germany pays. Once the handouts stop, they will all be back to their old ways of fighting with each other like little children on the playground. Real solidarity is almost non-existent.


That was part of the problem, but Farage and Johnson forgot to mention that many of the unwanted foreigners that "take away British jobs" are actually Commonwealth citizens who will enter the country in larger numbers anyway. The Brexiters pretty much voted against Europeans and for Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Nigerians. Their choice. I believe that Brexit is a big mistake and that the U.K. will pay dearly for it.


I have no sympathy whatsoever for Greek politicians. They were responsible that the country defaulted several times on their debt already and they still let others pay for their "lavish" lifestyle of early retirement and not paying taxes. Screw them. Unfortunately, the honest and hard working Greeks are the ones who pay the price for the incompetence of their leaders - just like everywhere.


I found that rather funny, to be honest. After the smear campaign in the Greek media that compared Merkel to Adolf while at the same time calling every German a Nazi, the ungrateful pricks deserved much worse. I wish German tourists would've stayed away altogether and bankrupted the country. Greece doesn't belong in the Euro zone, and they were only able to get in because they cooked the books with the help of Goldman Sachs.

They were always the strongest (or one of the strongest) since the 1960's. At some point (long before the introduction of the Euro) they were even the world's leading export nation.


Many are, you're right. In Germany they are called the "1968er". They are mostly responsible for a very weak justice system (no punishment, just a slap on the hand) as well as the eternal "Mea culpa" guilt trip related to the Nazi era that paralyzes Germany to this very day. They have to be carried around in buckets because they don't have a spine.


Same reason why they stayed out of WW2 and never became a member of NATO - staying neutral at all cost.

Don't use a parcel service. They are way too expensive for heavy or voluminous goods. Try to find a shipping agent that has a regular service to the US and offers so-called consolidated containers (= many shipments of different senders in one container). The costs are quite low compared to parcel services, but the shipping time is much longer. Usually 4 to 6 weeks to the US, depending where you live.

Come on, Joker. I agree with you that the ACA desperately needed tweaking, but the GOP had the nickname "Party of No" for a reason. They were the ones who walked away after negotiating tons of compromises with the Democrats.

Anyway, in my opinion a for profit healthcare system like ours is simply inhumane. Especially since big pharma is sheltered from competition and can charge what they want. Exactly, but some of our right wingers here don't understand that. They forget that Europe was ravaged by several horrific wars, and that most Europeans (except for the Brexiters maybe) have learned their lesson that extreme nationalism à la Le Pen and isolationism à la Trump aren't the answer.
