Life / How laid-back is the small villages lifestyle in Poland? [14]

Just don't go through running through the streets shouting Allahu Akbar. You'll get the local mohair berets chasing you away with their umbrellas and bad breath ;) ;)

On a more serious note, it's great to be out in the forests. I think they are puma free now. There were said to be 3 pumas roaming but nothing more has been written of them.

Very laid back generally but intense when it comes to religion. I love the summer vibe out in the villages near here. They kick back and drink (I'm on my bike then so only have 1) and eat some great food, esp fish.

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

Another instance of dissatisfaction manifesting itself here. I was told by Polish men to try certain things and they virtually guaranteed what the reaction would be from your standard woman. They were right! I've seen some Polish women try and catch me out and even turn things into my fault when it was blatantly theirs. There are so many disgruntled and conniving sods, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. I've had numerous episodes over the years where a Polish woman has turned against me but their own emotional turmoil and desperation has caused them to lash out. One went against her boyfriend and tried it on with me. When I showed her that I wasn't interested, she turned against me. I only refused her, nothing more.

Then there was the episode where the 2 Polish girls were late to work, thus I couldn't get in (they had the keys for the bottom door). I rushed to get up the stairs but they were 20 mins late. I had no time to photocopy. I let the copier make copies and then went off to make a quick coffee. They blamed me for time wasting. No apology for being late and they had the gaul to accuse me of time wasting, LOL. You can't rush into teaching, it doesn't work! They are pathetic bits of sh*t under my shoe!!

No, I don't expect an apology at all. I think it proves what I thought and goes to show that certain Polish women are headcases and don't respect privacy. Anything for an attack and a low/cheap one at that. You should feel ashamed but, being a specific type of Pole (quite prevalent), you'll likely deny that you did anything wrong. I have a good impression of many here but acknowledging wrongdoing and being grateful don't enter your vocab so I expect nothing!

It is NOT my intention to tar all with the same brush. There are many gems here and I've met them. I just know your type and will tread with caution from now on.

OK, I've just read your post. Everyone can let out steam sometimes so that's cool if you were pent up. We all get cranky and like that from time to time and I don't wanna lock horns over the net. Frankly, it's petty. I didn't read your definition of a man ;) ;) ;) ;) but one conception of mine is that I will discuss it face-to-face with those I know, esp men. I'm a big lad and man up when I have to. You are a woman that I don't know so it makes no sense for me to let this linger/continue. Let's move on!

Some women are golddiggers and others aren't. The same everywhere. I expect defensiveness here, don't worry.

News / Goldman Sachs says it will no longer profit from undermining Polish zloty [29]

Well, we can expect him to pursue the same tack but what we should be seeing are greater safeguards. Obama talked about standing up to the Fed and corrupt bankers back in Jan of this year. However, just like with AIPAC, he talks a good game but does nothing. If the Palestinians murdered 1300 Israelis, there would be hell to pay. If they stole land from Israelis, America would step right in.

Can't the man see that these companies are open about profiteering? For crying out loud, nobody needs telephone book figures as a salary.

News / 1945-2010 Poles will march on Red square [66]

It is relevant as it shows what many feel to be Slavic, thus brotherly in a sense, cooperation. However, as my wife rightly says, they are far from being completely Slavic and that is why I asked Crow why he felt cooperation with a largely Asian country was an investment in the future.

And what percentage of Russia do you see as being Slavic, as opposed to Mongoloid and other mixes? How pure is it?

Please don't change the topic of the thread.

Language / How do you add and 'ing' to the end of the verb in Polish? If you do. [17]

Siedzący na ławce would be sitting on the bench, right? I agree with Lyzko here, they just have a different way of looking at it. It certainly has a different character from how we contrast the infinitive and gerund, e.g I remember locking and I remembered to lock. A little differently, I stopped to smoke and I stopped smoking. Poles tend to use the ing form as more btw than we do, like when you start a story.

Why did it mean to much to you, Crow? They have entered into a partnership. It will likely lead to more exchanges and if Russia lifted the visa requirement, that would make America look bad.

It was quite an event :) A great gesture from the Russian top brass. Crow, this is a song for you to sum up your reaction. The group is Polish, ...

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

Eh, not that I know of ;) She has a brother, though ;) ;) He's married.

I'm expecting a barrage of replies from Paulina later, some more insinuations. Why is it so hard for many girls to say 'I like being rogered'?

I think it was a bit of the' I'll get ye' way of thinking. The truth is, my wife and I are on a very solid footing and, given that she looks like the Polish Angelina Jolie (in some photos more like Sandra Bullock :) :)), why would I look elsewhere? She often gets that compliment, whether here or abroad. Her opinion of sex? Healthy :)

True enough. The other side of Poland is far enough away, never mind across the ash-ridden ocean. If I started to show interest in a poster from Gliwice, then I could see how my wife could sound the alarm bells.

I'm not into playing the 'let's catch you out' game.

News / 2010 Year of Chopin (and his Dark Hallucinations) [13]

youtube.com/watch?v=kyFyAqLtHq8
a wonderfully melancholic tune and fitting title. I found Chopin boring as a kid (my granddad exposed me to classical) but he has some interesting compositions. I listened to some in Pszczyna Castle where the annual Chopin contest was held :)

this too. Quite amazing. I like the notes he touches early on in the piece.

The simple fact is that, to virtually any question using auxiliaries or modals, the answer is some...and some.... It's so easy to spark a discussion like this, though. Many Poles like to take the bait :)

It's not even in question if quite a few Polish women are vain, moody and ignorant. I've seen it a lot, period. I'm sure that many aren't. The discussion from there becomes percentages but none of us want or need to go there. Polish men don't help by constantly placing them on a pedestal which leaves no room for subjectivity and beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

I also share Paulina's thought that men may cheat more but Zbyszko got it right. However, I was really shocked to read that flirting (which wasn't even flirting) on the net is nearly as bad as flirting physically in a bar, with a view to getting sth. I'm sorry but light talk on a forum with no sexual intentions just doesn't compare with going to a bar specifically to flirt and pull. Not even close!

My wife is a very nice woman and, as pgtx said, I am lucky to have her. I wouldn't even dream of cheating on her. Coming of age is important. When I was younger, I cheated twice but only because my girlfriends were being total bas*ards. Now I really want to make the marriage work and it was very hard for her to talk me into it in the first place. Just last night, my friend said I was difficult to talk to for my scepticism. My Profs even said the same when I was a teen. I took the plunge and with good reason.

I see that Poles who have travelled tend to be closer to where it's at.

Not for my alleged flirting remarks, you didn't ;)

No, did I say so? ;)

Ah tam, keep the malicious stuff out :)

I'm the man, meaning?

What, you think you can't stand by a woman?

Any pictures of my stomach? Please show them and we'll see.

Big? Na pewno. That I am.

Red-headed, hell yeah. One of a limited and cool, rare breed :)

Be sure to use the quote facility ;)

??

Well don't then. Is anyone pointing a gun at your head and insisting on you saying it?

Most would read it as an insinuation.

Why would I like to? I've made a choice and am standing by it.

Some are good and some aren't. Or do you feel that this is a new assessment of mine? Check the forum, I think you'll find that I've said similar things on many occasions. Why? It's the truth!

What flirting? I'm not aware of any, just having a laugh.

The generalisation applies and is just that, a generalisation.

Where did I say that I didn't know? I was asking you. Again, deflection.

Yes, I'm a man and there's your next insinuation. I don't cheat, period!

Well, she isn't 'meating' him so she's refraining ;) ;)

Sex is meaningful? Isn't it merely a transitory exp? So what is love?

What I think about who?

You are insinuating that I am a cheat without knowing me? What kind of implication is that? I don't need to cheat, even if I could.

I said many Polish women, not all. Just my experience, that's all. I have many Polish women as friends and nationality is not the issue at all. I think you did the Polish thing and got defensive and read me wrong. I love my Polish female friends.

It needs special training to tell yourself to avoid the pretty ones. Trust me, they could burn a hole deeper than you can imagine. Best left untouched!

Irish? Cool, respect :) I'm 25% Irish too :) You have to be on your guard in relationships. Some women can have flights of fantasy and you have to stay with them somehow. You got unlucky with Polish chicks?
