if they knew the things hes said about poles

So very true, it's like when the odd brit pisses up a war memorial to the fallen in the UK, the Police have to give them a new address and protection from the general population when they go to court.

Life / What is customer service in Warsaw like? Poland. [8]

f literally thousands of examples

Yeah the wife and I prefer to have a good laugh at the person giving the bad service, we even make up names for them like sour puss that works in castorama it makes it easier for us, but hey the good things here make up for it.

Service in stores is terrible

This really got to me when I first came to Poland, I used to keep a 200zl note in my wallet that I would offer up as payment to anyone who was snotty with me at the checkout, they would inevitably moan about not having change due to the large denomination and I would promptly walk away leaving them piled high with stock to re shelf

Nowadays I just put up with it like everyone else does..

No big multinational IT companies in Poland back then.

They didn't need them they simply copied (cloned) their systems.

Just one I am familiar with below.

MERA-60 Cloned from the dec pdp11 series, op system stolen from the west (RSTS/E commercial applications RSX/RT11 scientific and more sinister military applications.

Programmers were very sought after especially those who lived in the west with commercial or military coding experience , there were some traitors who went to Poland during the cold war and made a great deal of money.

After 1989 once sanctions were lifted , Poland just simply bought the legitimate machines from the west.

But IT was very much alive in Poland during and after the cold war.

Life / Jehova's witnesses in Poland - how to deal with them? [110]

Jehovahs Witnesses were taken to concentration camp along with Jews.

Don't get me wrong I don't wish em dead, they just annoy the hell out of me by their constant door knocking, strange how they always seem to send the pretty young girls in with dad or granddad hovering 50 meters down the road.

Oh killing kids by not giving them blood transfusions is not good, each to their own heh

I'm surprised at you Dolno. I thought you had more common sense

I'm surprised you automatically looked at his efforts in a negative way, I always look at the positive he seems well driven and has a plan, that's half the battle.

well my glass is always half full I guess.

Still if he had a mortgage and bought a house (with mortgage ) in Texas It would be huge if not a ranch.

There is nothing wrong with the guy having a mortgage if he has employed his capital in his business , which from what he has posted points to that.

Think about it, you should make 37% gross on your investment in running your own business, mortgage is what 3/4 percent it a no brainier keep your capital employed in the business and not repaying a mortgage.

If you want to attack me because

Hey Doug I have no need for that, unlike your stalking career destroying buddies, but I have seen you in full attack mode when I first joined, nice welcome you and your buddies had for me (or anyone else Polish) back in the day.

I don't like your obsequious priest loving State hegemony under PIS,

Yeah you chose to come to Poland during the rule of PRL , You supported them with you hard work and taxes, must be hell for you to be living in a free and democratic Poland of today, oh and it shows.

Bit uncalled for tbh.

Sorry.

Dolno, I honestly did not mean to cause offence

Sorry again I get a bit touchy after the experience I had at the hands of the BBC when I first joined, Doug was one of them but by no means the worst.

t he knows the country better than a lot of people

But it's obvious he knows nothing about the people, and if he did he would realise that that his ideals have no place in Poland.

Poles are living in small flats in blocks, that's quite normal in Poland.

But he boasts about the successful business he has run , but he has nothing to show for it.

Probably because you knew the wages were crap and life would be hard for you

As for not moving earlier I had children, sick and elderly dependants to take care of, no such thing as crap money, no need to choose it, make your own money, plenty of opportunity everywhere You assume too much when you say I made all my money in the west , a lot was made out of the opportunities that arose from the collapse of the commie USSR also China , but that's another story', think I couldn't make it in Poland back then, think again.

Again people like Doug know nothing of the Polish people, More like he whinges about anything Polish, church ,parades, government, police, I could go on with the list couldn't I

Anyway I didn't know you were Doug's personal lapdog, I do now.

Were you also part of the Bully Club back in the day, I don't remember you. or are you an ex mod?

f my own language schools, but

Not wishing to be rude but after all that you ended up in a pokey flat in some multi story block., doesn't whiff of success to me.

Here is a question on topic I think?

Would you do it again? the whole moving to Poland thing

Oh but it does Doug , this is where you are in a minority and that's why you don't fit in Poland, ever wondered why you have not been successful in this county?

The more you push your liberal agenda against the people the more we push back.

Life / My Last Link To Poland Died - Why Leaving Poland Was My Best Decision [249]

My final good bye to the prison called Poland and all those suckers who were not smart enough to find a way out of it.

Yeah but with all the opportunity to make money in the US you still drive around in a twelve year old banger, for all your boasting here you should have your own private jet .

swearing to never be back again.

Well at that time you knew that if you did return you would be thrown into the army to do your national service.

But hey it sounds like you are having a great time living it rich and driving your top of the range jap car, slagging off Poles on a Polish forum, oh your parents and kids should be so proud of you.

do remember getting on a train at Warszawa Gdanska, waving goodbye to my parents and swearing to never be back again

Yep you got it that's when you ran away like a chicken, never lifting a finger to support the struggle to free or or rebuild Poland..

So why would you be bothered to be on this forum at all, I guess its just to trol.

I will try to come back to it later and disect that roach

No need for dissection , you sleep on what I said we both know those times very well from opposite sides of the iron curtain,

Just after the Cuban missile crisis, and a real possibility of armed conflict between east and west and you were shortly due national service in the army, you possibly only saw three choices before you.

If the west attacked the soviets, then

1. fight on the soviet side.

2. Turn on your soviet slave masters and fight to free Poland.

3. Run away from Poland like a chicken

Just remember your kids one day might ask you what you did during the cold war, and yes it was a war, remember to tell them you ran away like a chicken.

Being really stupid and emotional is in the Polish culture and traditions.

Not surprising comment coming from someone who left Poland in the 60's, after being completely brainwashed and full of Soviet propaganda that was intended to keep occupied Poland and it's people in their place as subordinates to their Soviet rulers, its obvious you took it hook line and sinker.

It's no surprise then that you ran away from your family friends and country during its time of need, just like many migrants are doing today, to further your own monetary greed and ends, most likely a trait you learned from the soviets.

Many of us exiles would have grasped any opportunity to return to Poland to create as much grief as possible for the commie occupiers, but no visas for us trouble makers, in fact to get a visa to leave Poland during that time was a privilege for only for the traitors that colluded with the Soviet pigs.

Some might say you are a traitor to your own people and from the shite u write here it goes a long way to support that, maybe by bad mouthing your own kind it helps you justify your running away from the fight to fill your own pockets in the west.

Yet Indian men in the UK are so successful and at all the positions of power, while the Poles are rejected from society

Oh now I see where you are coming from, there used to be a term that we used back in the seventies to describe someone such as yourself, but it is not pc to use it today, and certainly not on this forum.

You really have been enriched by your partner and new life, as for being rejected I suffered terribly in Britain, they just would not keep stuffing wads of money into my hands, in the end I gave up at 50 and retired to Poland, at least now they will stop chasing me.

Yeah things are really bad for Poles in the UK and Poland, you best stay in NZ, Just think when you retire you will be able to live as royalty back in Bangladesh., oh and I hope the forty year old itch you described does not befall you.

So there is no need for you to look back and moan about Poland then just enjoy your new life in your perfect country, but take a moment to look at the suffering of the indigenous Maori, who are doing all your dirty jobs and live in their home country as second class citizens.

Oh the hypocrisy
