Life / Poland's population predictions [59]

And many of them are still illegal. I know one kid who was born in Poland to parents who were both born in Poland and have never left Poland for even a single day: the kid is not entitled to a Polish passport and it's highly debatable as to whether he is even entitled to live here.

News / Polish publicly-funded pre-schools have put up their prices [7]

Do you realize that in Poland, your taxes are peanuts compared with other European countries', so what do you expect ?

About 50% of the money which my employer pays me goes to the state as taxes and ZUS. And then when I spend the money I'm allowed to keep, I'm expected to pay 23% of it in sales tax (and even higher taxes on booze, fags and petrol)!

History / 15.08.1920 - without Hungarians there would be no miracle at the Vistula - Poles remember [15]

MyMom
Contrast this with Czechoslovakia - a state that was ready to go under just to make sure that Poland goes under first.

Given that two years previously Poland had signed an interim agreement with Czechoslovakia before invading Czechoslovakia the very next day and that during that same year Czechoslovakia had been occupied by Hungarian troops, it's not really surprising that Czechoslovakia was willing to let the Hungarian military help Poland in another war which Poland had started with a neighbouring country.

Life / Poland's population predictions [59]

Vietnamese come here, for the most part, legally.

They might come here that way but more than a few don't stay that way!

Also, does this number include those with dual citizenship?

I would imagine not: dual citizens in Poland are officially nothing but Polish.

Law / Polish Visa questions - will they let me back into the country? [8]

If I did get approved, do I have to have my karta pobytu with me when I travel to and from Poland or will they be able to look it up in the computer?

If you do get a positive decision, you most probably won't be able to get the actual card before you leave Poland (there is usually a gap of up to a couple of weeks between getting the decision and getting the actual card).

Law / Polish Visa questions - will they let me back into the country? [8]

I am sure I will be denied because I did not turn all the necessary paperwork in.

Strange: they normally won't even accept for consideration applications which are incomplete.

When I leave on the 14th, is it likely that security will check my passport and realized I have overstayed?

You got any evidence your application was submitted and that the decision will be issued on 12 September? You could probably get away with showing the border guard that documentation and telling them that the letter hasn't arrived yet (credible on 14 September).

I have read elsewhere that they may permit me from coming back to Poland until my appeal is complete.

Not sure about that one. Sorry.

Law / Polish Visa questions - will they let me back into the country? [8]

any way to appeal?

Why are you so sure that your application will be rejected?

Technically you should be denied entry to Poland (although you'll be fine in London no matter what) but in practice you have a fairly good chance of being let in. However you will be here illegally and might have problems when leaving Poland.

Depending on which state you are from, you might want to consider changing your name (by adding a middle name) and then getting a new passport in your new name. That used to work but I get the feeling that the loophole has now been closed.

As for appealing, write back to the foreigners office notifying them that you wish to appeal their decision and asking them for their opinion on the form in which that appeal should be made (interpretation varies from office to office, so it's best to get them to tell you exactly what they want).

MediaWatchDelph I'm surprised you don't have the answers to this topic. Your supposed to be the big expert on Poland and these matters.

How surprising to see you yet again failing to post anything of any use to anybody and instead attempting to attack somebody who kicks your arse each and every time you try to go up against him.

Life / Worlds most liveable cities (Krakow or Warsaw don't even hit the radar screens) [104]

Monia
You are so pathetic , Harry .

Really Moania? So pathetic that I lie about such details as the fact that people were living in Warsaw at the end of 1944? Oh, no, sorry: you're the one who decided to lie about that.

Monia
My family for example haven`t been coming back for 40 years. S

Which village is your family from? And why do you claim that they ever lived in Warsaw: they are clearly all peasants from the provinces.

Monia
Who wants to hear your distorted facts , anyway - liar Harry ?

I'm a liar? Can you point out even a single lie? I can most certainly do so with your lies. In fact I've already pointed out one on this very page!

Monia
Why did you change your nickname , were you so frustrated by your criticism for your previous treatement ?

Actually, I think I might well go back to using my legal name rather than this nickname: I'm sure you remember why.

he suspects she has put all the furniture in storage as it mostly expensive antiques they have collected over the years.

That's not clever: that furniture is jointly owned and by taking all of it and putting it where he can not use it is going to look more than a little bit bad when the divorce comes to court.

The population of Warsaw by the end of 1944 - 0

Perhaps you would care to tell us where Władysław Szpilman was living at the end of 1944 if not Warsaw? He claims that he was living in Warsaw then: why are you calling him a liar? And what about Stefan Chaskielewicz? Why are you also calling him a liar? Dawid Fogelman? To you he's also a liar. And Jozef Dudzinski, just another liar to you. Henryk Beck? Roman Fiszer? Both liars to you. Alina Winawerowa: she's a liar too, is she? Witold £azowski? Jan Fetinger? Jan Gadaliński? Fania and Sewek Glazer? Basia and Mietek Chwat? Stefan Ślusarczyk? Franciszek Głowacki? Chaim Goldstein? Gabriel Cybulski? Dawid and Luba Landau? All of them are just liars to you.

All of those people said that they were living in Warsaw at the end of 1944 but you just have to call them liars. You are pathetic Moania.

News / Polish Students Striking in Lithuania [80]

As I said you are commie I wonder why fascism of Lithuanian government doesn't bother you.

Thank you for providing such a perfect demonstration of why there will always be problems from Poles living in Lithuania for as long as there are Poles living in Lithuania: some Poles who live outside Poland are complete and utter dicks.

Noumenon
Do you see Muslims ever insulting Christ? Or any Judaeo-Christian prophet? Or any other tradition's prophet?

Were the prophets of any other religions paedophiles?

Noumenon
What was the age of consent in Arabia at the time? Was there a special exception made for the Prophet Muhammad? No there was not. The age of consent in Islam is adolescence, and it is more accurately the age of marriage, not the age of sexual romps.

I am astounded that you in any way try to defend a man who had sex with a nine-year old child.

Noumenon
Now, if you will, please demonstrate that you are not a hypocrite who projects his own nature, by condemning the following:

I condemn any and all paedophiles.

I also condemn liars.

Noumenon
* Jewish Talmud: Sanhedrin 54b. "A Jew may have sex with a child as long as the child is less than nine years old."

Liar: the Talmud actually says that the death penalty is not imposed if the paedophile has sex with a girl below the age of three or a boy below the age of nine (but other penalties are imposed).

Noumenon
* Jewish Talmud: Kethuboth 11b. "When a grown-up man has intercourse with a little girl it is nothing." [it does not count as adultery / fornication]

It does not count with regard to the status of the child as a virgin when she gets married.

Noumenon
The list goes on and on.

Thanks for copy pasting it. Pity your list it little but lies.

If you’re defending something here that you would not defend in any other person’s holy book, stop and take a good hard look at why you’re wearing these special glasses that only work one way. The first step toward recovery is admitting you have a problem.

I'm not the one here defending a man who had sex with a nine-year old girl and claiming that it is perfectly acceptable to have such sex.

Travel / Mosques in Krakow? [131]

Peninsular Arabia was declared sacred ground by the Muslim Prophet Muhammad,

Yes, but he also said it was OK for a 50-year old man to marry a six-year old girl and then have sex with her when she was nine under the age of ten, so what he said clearly isn't worth very much by modern standards.

all modern cities should have some sort of direct line from the airport to the city centre- not Warsaw.

And with Warsaw, there is a train spur line 200 metres from the door of the terminal!

Not a lot of people know this, but there is actually a train station located underneath Terminal 2, which has been sitting idle for five years.

Rough translation: Moania just got owned yet again.

I would also bet money that the fast train line from Modlin aiport will stop at Lomianki.

Do you mean that the fast train will pause to let people on and off at Lomianki or that the line will be built from Modlin to Lomianki and the thought will be 'You paupers who don't have a car can just get a bus from there'? Given that Warsaw still hasn't managed to connect the main airport to the city by either tram or train, despite train tracks going almost right past the airport!

the experts from that British survey, placed Poland on 5-th place, in spite of the lowest per capita income , they were not retards and comprehended the meaning of UK average income per capita , still placing Poland at much better position , Einstein .

The 'experts' who conclude that Poland is better to live in because in the price of petrol, gas and electricity is about 20% lower in Euros but neglected to factor in that incomes in the UK are nearly five times higher. It seems that they are experts on quality of life in the same way that you are an expert on Polish law.

Monia
Now, I see you deny that you teach children , but not long ago you were moaning that I undermined your position as a teacher , so now, I realise that you are a compulsive liar , Harry .

I haven't taught children since the mid 1990s. And the complain wasn't about undermining my position but about you trying to expose me to the loss of confidence necessary for a given position, occupation, or type of activity. Three year statute of limitation, isn't it?

News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

I think that you grossly exaggerate. I react to posts.

Yes, you react to them with insults and with nothing else.

I would say that my alleged U.S. citizenship is irreverent.

Apart, of course from the fact that if you had it, you will have renounced all allegiance to Poland and we all know that people who betray Poland have no right at all to have any say in how Poland is run.

Returning to the topic, PWEI , answer the question, what is left in the wallet for the average Briton after paying for housing or mortgage or paying other bills for living expenses or how many times a year can he go for holidays . I think his situation is not so much different than that of the average Pole`s .

Sorry Moania but it doesn't work like that: you want to claim that the situation of the average Pole is not so much different from the average Brit's, you prove your claim.

Monia
Always the only reliable indicator is purchasing power rather than the nominal value of money.

Which explains why you place so much faith in a study which simply looks at prices of good and makes no attempt to factor in salary levels to the real cost of those prices.

By the way, given that you are constantly telling us all how only people who are experts in specific fields should dare to express an opinion about anything, could you perhaps go into detail about your academic and professional qualifications in both statistics and economics? Thanks.

Today the school has just started, so maybe it is time you should start preparing subjects for tomorrow`s classes .

Sorry Moania but I'm not a teacher. Given that you like to lie about other people's professions, I wonder if you could also be lying about yours.

I take it from the fact that your post made absolutely no attempt to deal with any of the points raised in my last message that you know you have lost yet another debate and so you just move to making personal comments. Pity, I always enjoy showing how stupid you are, nearly as much as I enjoy pointing out what a liar you are.

PWEI - have you checked all 16 factors ?

Clearly you haven't. But just for a laugh, let’s have a look at the full six:

Net household income: UK 365% higher = UK huge win
VAT Poland 30% higher = UK win
Working hours: Poland 11% higher UK win
Hours of sunshine: Poland 2.5% higher = Poland slight win
Retirement age: UK higher but life expectancy also higher and pensions higher = = Poland slight win
Holiday entitlement: Poland higher but data clearly unreliable and so it's hard to make an accurate assessment = Poland win
Education spending (as percentage of GDP): Level as percentage of GDP so UK five times higher in real terms = UK huge win
Health spending: UK 30% higher in terms of percentage of GDP = UK huge win

Petrol: UK 19% higher but incomes in UK 365% higher too = UK huge win
Diesel: UK 28% higher but incomes in UK 365% higher too = UK huge win
Electricity: UK 26% higher but incomes in UK 365% higher too = UK huge win
Alcohol: UK 22% higher (is that why you like Poland so much?) = Poland win
Food prices: UK 5% higher = Poland win
Cigarettes: UK 370% higher but incomes in UK 365% higher too = Poland slight win
Life expectancy: UK 4.5% higher = UK slight win

Perhaps you’d like to tally up the wins there.

Monia
It was prepared by specialists in finances and statistics

Please don’t lie: it was prepared by a UK company which specialises in energy. And one which is clever enough to say that the ninth nation out of ten is the “worst”. They must really be experts when it comes to statistics!

But interestingly, one of the sources of the information used was Mercer Human Resource Consulting. What was it you had to say about them?

Monia
you are not an expert for me ,

Still annoyed that my knowledge of Polish law is so much better than yours that you are the one looking at a criminal record?
