Hi Zion, if you have a kid on the way best of luck. You will probably spend what you can afford is my best guess.

Work / Polish salaries - New statistics [38]

Why is their a debate about what people get paid in Poland? They get paid poorly even if they are well qualified.

Work / Polish salaries - New statistics [38]

If you have minimum salary you need at least 2 jobs.

This is no way to live but what can they do? Have no children and be miserable? Leave the country and be miserable? Leave their families to work in another country and be miserable?

Love / Sigh... Polish girls have such pretty eyes. [51]

"I have heard of your paintings, well enough. God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another."

Wow, I hadn't heard of that one.

Maybe someone can find a better of example of beautiful Polish eyes on you tube and a better song!!!!

Life / Polish radio with chat & humour? What do you recommend? [7]

Thanks Szwed, I am interested in funny conversation and jokes though, people joking around, teasing each other etc. Music is no problem to find.

It's the beating heart of Polish radio

Ha ha

Life / Polish radio with chat & humour? What do you recommend? [7]

Can anyone recomend a radio show for me in the Polish language? It can be anywhere in the world.

I like a radio show with a little bit of chat, a good bit of craic, laughing and fun.

I am not interested in politics or serious chat.

Thanks.

Love / What is considered "dating" in Poland? [15]

Maybe if you ask yourself when 2 women go out for a drink is it considered a date? When would it be a date(romantically I mean) if 2 women have a drink togther?

I would go with there being no clear definition as others have mentioned.

plastic surgery can sort eye shape, lash length-she could have false ones, density-fake or use maskara, stys-go to the doctor.

Women are not as they appear! Anyone agree? There can be a complete transformation from the bedroom to the office.

Feedback / Why are there so many on here, who do not like Poland [150]

Why are there so many on here, who do not like Poland

Becuase most of the people on here don't live in Poland would be my answer, that is in fact if there are a lot of people who dislike Poland. It would be a good topic for a pole(no pun intended).

I wonder what polish people living in Poland would think of Polish forums? Maybe there are some here who can tell us?

Language / How do Poles feel about foreigners learning their language? [105]

I originally thought Poles might be offended if you tell them you are trying to learn their language, and learn it well.

Oh, definitely go to Poland, it is a great place, speak Polish when you can, don't tell them you are learning just speak, it is great, Poland is the best place to speak Polish. I can't recommend it enough.

Language / GCSE Polish - the best way of learning the seven cases? [12]

I will never be able to learn it.

Learn it whatever way suits you best. For me learning a chart of endings wouldn't work. I need to do examples and after a while I remember them.

Accusative
Fem: -ę
Masc: -y, -i (living: -a)
Neutr: -e

example:
Ja, pić, kawa
Piję kawę.

Language / GCSE Polish - the best way of learning the seven cases? [12]

best way of learning these cases

Get a book like Hurra Po Polsku 1. It teaches you the cases and uses them later in other exercises, this means that you come accross what you have learnt again and again making it easier to remember. It is a well structured book. best of luck

Language / Does anyone feel that they are not normal for learning Polish? No Polish girlfriend etc. [12]

Someone else mentioned something like this recently, he was afraid that if he spoke some Polish words to his Polish neighbours in Britain that they might think that he was some kind of a freak/weirdo etc. I can't find the thread now but I think that it is all about the context in which you speak the Polish language, speaking it in Poland is super ok, saying Polish swear words for fun at work with Polish friends etc. is ok in any country, speaking "good" Polish in Britain worries people sometimes but speaking badly pronounced Polish to dogs is just cringe!!!!!!!! Worse than the first episodes of the x factor I think.

I do think that learning languages is very good for anyone though despite my own mixed up ideas on the matter of Polish. I agree with Lyzko and Koala above.

Real Estate / Foreign investor, properties in Poland, walk away from mortgages? [209]

Someone always pays the price when somone else defaults, usually it is the ordinary joe soaps who pay at the end. Job losses, tax hikes, interest rate hikes, austerity measures, wage cuts, less hospital/public services, smaller pensions for old people due to taxes and smaller returns. :-(

Language / My struggle learning the Polish language [10]

Hi AJ,

Maybe you need to slow down, speak very clearly, don't speak too fast, some people also just have a block when they hear a foreign accent or if you say something out of context they think that you are saying something else when what they hear is actually what you are saying but they don't get it.

I wanted to buy bus tickets in a shop and she didn't have a clue what I was saying(she thought she didn't).

I went accross the road to the kiosk, said the same stuff and I got my tickets no problem.
