Unemployment is only a problem if you are in the auto industry and even that is improving rapidly.

Well it is enough of a concern to Canadian society to keep the Roma from our cities and streets. We have a visa requirement for Czech citizens currently in place, aimed at the Roma. They are considering lifting the requirements, and there is great debate about it.

Ok, I wasn't as clear as I should have been. What I meant is: it isn't ok to look the other way when one group commits a crime, but persecute / prosecute all others if the same crime is commited if they aren't a member of the first group.
And I ain't even had a beer today...

Roma have a reputation as beggars thieves and drug dealers. In stating that you think a little of column a and column b applies, it implies (to my narrow way of thinking) that you would support looking the other way when the Roma are prosecuted for thievery and drug dealing because we aren't being sensitive enough to their chosen life style. For me, the law is the law. If it is an unjust law, than a free society has the right and responsibility to get the law changed. I get that impression from your posts, that you feel this behaviour should be tolerated in society.

The point is that pubs in Poznan kicked out Roma. There is a reason for that. Whether it is racism or an owners attempt at maintaining what he considers reasonable rules for his place of business remains to be determined. If a particular group can't or won't maintain decorum as dictated by the norms of society, the question begs to be asked, "why"?
What makes this culture so anti-social? Or is it the rest of society that has the problem?

As was pointed out above, there are pressures not to integrate. I am sure along the way , many did, but not enough to call it complete integration. The culture lives on, obviously.
I doubt that for 500 years no Romani has ever integrated.

Many years ago, I worked with a German toolmaker (right accent / demeanour for the stereotypical German). Odd thing is, he had a Polish last name. Couldn't convince him that he was anything but German. So it is possible to integrate, if one is willing.
If Poles had integrated into the German, Austrian-Hungarian and Russian Empires, there would be no modern day Poland and therefore no PF (can you imagine).

The option is to pay top dollar for organic meat. Possible, but is it worth the premium?
Actually in the First World if it's meat it probably wasn't skipping around a field, but rather standing knee deep in its own feces penned up in a factory farm stall while being fed antibiotics so that is won't get too sick before it's fat enough to slaughter.

Not if international quotas were established and enforced. Pricing needs to be reflected in the market place based on supply and demand. Cows are a wonderful source of protein.
A wild fish is going to be harvested to the point of non existence.

Results in contamination of the wild varieties of fish, typically from the meds the fish recieve in their feed. Typically they are genetically modified as starter stock as well.
I prefer wild fish to be honest.

How about removing the children from their situation, providing them a stable loving environment, including a proper education complete with skills and societal training. To prevent more children from being introduced to the problem, forced sterilization of adults (over the age of 12 for example) might be in order.
They need to be pulled out from any trash situation they are found in ... and trained to be self sufficient, educated etc. There needs to be a total flow of attention, without any pollution of hatred/condemnation or thought/feeling that they are different than any other European.
