UK, Ireland / Are the working class in the UK now shunned in the 'new' Poland? [53]

Well yes. thats my ideas about british ppl.

Hey at least when our little wh(res get pregnant - they dont pretend its anything more than promiscuity at its worst..unlike in Poland where they say they were playing sun moon and stars..WTFITAA? At least our lot can blame it on being drunk and not lying on the playground floor leggs a kimbo for anyone who wants ago!

It's been going on for years. Zero hour contracts are nothing new in the UK.

No it has not...Dont even lie...Its only the last couple of years...If you say otherwise, I will produce evident to the contary..not tonight, but will on Monday when I speak to friends in recruitment! BTW, they dont use such contracts, but they know agencies that do out of their field of recruitment!

Are they toiling away? How ironic your spelling mistake is! It really did make me laugh. Unlike your pathetic rantings of your view of British society!

Life / As EuroPride visits Warsaw - is it the start of overdue social change in Poland? (homosexuality promotion) [144]

instead of spending a friday evening alone by your computer trying to come up with funny insults.

Dariusz, I do actually like you, in a strange way, but you're here on a Friday too...what does say about you? You're married..Sorry but generally Friday is a night single hard working (usually more hours than our married couterparts do) stay in and have a glass of wine, generally you wont see people like Harry on here on Saturday!

As for gay people who adopt..Well I know two gay guys who offer respite service to parents...They do an invaluable job and care for the kids they get sprung on them..You have no idea..they were passed by social services because they have been together for 10 years and are stable and dont do it for money like many hetro couples do - they do because they cant have kids but would love to help kids..nothing perveted..just to people do something out of love. Such a shame people have such views.

Amathyst have u been ever on your own person in Poland?

3 times...Have you been to England?

Btw Amathyst whats ur connection with Poland.

I joined this forum in 2006 before my first visit to Poland, I googled "Polish pleasantries" and it brought me here..I like to be able to at least say "please and thank you" its just the way I was brought up.

U post here a lot but I dont know yet who u r and what do u do here?

Why do you post here? Its forum..people do that dont they? Strangely enough..

do u know what is "wieÅ› popegeerowska"?

No, but I have a friend coming tomorrow, I'll ask them to tell me what it means...

Yep about 30% is low in modern Europe... ;)

Either Polish men are lying tvats in England or the figures are wrong...either way something is a miss!

So why are you here Zeb? Creating your "Im addicted" thread after a couple of weeks, I dont feel the need to do that after 4 years! Do you like attenion? No change there for some Polish girl evidently not getting enough attention!

Poles being bunch of alcoholics and losers. Funny, isnt it? ;]]]

I'll deal with this quote first:

No it isn't, anyone who suffers with substance abuse isn't a cause to be laughed at - rather the oposite.

Well I just was brought up on british movie Human Traffic which openly encourage to take drugs...

Human Traffic was tame, I did that 3 times a week :D *back in the day*

Sorry its not. UK

No its not! America is!

because you dont allow alcoholics and homeless to get into bus??

Of course we do, but it would seem there are less in the UK.

You made this personal...I didn't...my mate comes from a small area in Poland and has told me some stories about drunks..I personally have never encountered such behaviour in my own area...

We have people that go into the cities and get too drunk at weekend..In Poland you have people in small rural areas that drink all day ever day and make a nusance of themsevles...Our villages are respectable....put your own house in order before casting stones on mine!

Britain is the binge drinking capital of the world.

P...L...EEEEZZZZ..So its all Brits that are getting drunk at weekend?

Followed by chavs jumping from every allyway

Yeah, they're just waiting for some unsuspecting person to walk past! Damn them chavs..by the way most chavs are sat in parks with a bottle of cider..not allways..you might want to re-think your post :D

What a claim to fame binge drinkers and chavs all in the same decade.

God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and Glorious,
Long to reign over us;
God save the Queen!

O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies
And make them fall;
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
Oh, save us all!

Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign;
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!

Not in this land alone,
But be God's mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Lord make the nations see,
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,
The wide world over

From every latent foe,
From the assassins blow,
God save the Queen!
O'er her thine arm extend,
For Britain's sake defend,
Our mother, prince, and friend,
God save the Queen!

In love's endearments fond,
In wedlock's holy bond,
Blest be our Queen.
In her blest progeny,
We future Monarchs see,
Of England bold and free,
God save the Queen!

Lord let wars' tempest cease;
Fold the whole world in peace
Under thy wings.
Make all the nations one;
All hearts beneath the sun;
Till Thou shalt reign alone;
Great King of Kings.

*So proud to be English! - just reaching for a glass of Erdinger, but our Royal family are German after all*

Guess what country is best known of drugs and binge drinking?

Pray tell? If you are referring to the UK, we may be known as "binge" drinkers, but never alcoholics unlike certain other nations (rather go out and get a bit tipsy at the weekend than have bottle of vodka in my bottom draw at work!)..As for drugs, maybe the US they have the highest use per capita than any other country - alledgely! Maybe you've never heard of khat which most men chew in places like Arabia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, the Congo, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa...take a step outside your back yard and you will see that Britain is quite tame in comparison to certain other nations with regards to drug taking and alcohol consumption...We like a good time..we work hard and play hard..nowt wrong with that!

I would be disappointed if it was not USA!

I feel like a Gene, I just granted your wish!

So be disapointed, its not USA.

Oooohhh...Wrong me thinks!

I'm still single, but I suppose it's a case of "define good", lol

Depends on ones preferences and standards how one can define "good"...

UK, Ireland / Nursing staff from Eastern Europe about to 'flood' into UK ? [45]

British trained nursing staff have a world wide appeal. We are losing more of them than any other time in the past to Australia, US and Canada.

Thats because the training used to be second to none, my sister hates the way things have gone and doesnt believe its the way to produce "good" nurses.

I've seen some shocking examples of care homes being run only by agency staff.

They're privately run and they dont care about the primary care of the person in their care - its a bit like "care in the community" for the mentally ill - we have actually forgotten what "care" actually means!

What your view on the lift of of the cap for use of facilities for private patients with in NHS hospitals?

I personally think this government is going to run the NHS in to the ground and go the way of the US, we will have several over-subscribed hospitals for NHS care the rest (the newer ones) will end up being private!

UK, Ireland / Nursing staff from Eastern Europe about to 'flood' into UK ? [45]

Why does the UK no longer want to train its own youngsters, or offer permanent employment to recently newly qualified nursing staff? Are they becoming too expensive?

I can assure you plenty of English females and males train to be nurses, my sister is a lecturer at Salford Uni and teaches plenty, you might want to ask why the government changed the system so that now nurses in this country dont actually get a great deal of training on the wards before they are let lose on patients, Im not saying they are "dangerous" far from it, but the practical experience which was once gained has now been replaced with lots of paperwork..Last time I was in hospital I had a lovely Spanish lady looking after me, I couldn't have wanted for better care, her English was also flawless.

I think Dave will back me up on this? (regarding the training)

pay out of their pockets to UK agency staff who cost upto 50% more.

Bank work has always been a way for nurses to top up their wages...All my family have done it.

The OP might want to ask why a considerable amount of our nurses go abroad working in private clinics? My cousin is a cardiologist and was offered a research post in the US, so its not just a one way street.

But regarding agencies, I think after Daniel Ubani incident I think they are more wary about the level of English a person possesses.

I will add this, there are far more nurses trained in this country than there are jobs and as NMP pointed out more services will be cut, certain A&E units are now closes in the evenings in the Greater Manchester area, thus diverting services to already over used hospitals...The idea of bringing nurses from another country in masses will cause many problems for the NHS, the unions will fight tooth and nail to stop it.

UK, Ireland / Are the working class in the UK now shunned in the 'new' Poland? [53]

Exactly, agencies now have "zero" hour contracts and anything above that is a bonus! Most jobs paying minimum wage are in the service sector which means they are generally only part-time, if someone does two jobs, they then start getting in to the messy situation of paying higher rates of tax on what is considered a "second" job - you only get a tax allowance on one job - second jobs you are taxed on every penny you earn.

What is minimum wage in Poland? 1200 Zloty? What is the minimum in the UK? Remember it's a 4:1 ratio Zloty/Pound. Probably at the minimum a Pole can make 4 times the money in the UK.

And pay out 4 times as much -average cost of a pint of lager in Poland circa. 6zl average cost of a pint in the UK circa. £3.50 - average cost of a 1 bed apartment 750 zl average cost in the UK circa. £500 - are you catching my drift? At minimum wage in the UK a Pole can just survive living with serveral other Poles in a small apartment - personally I dont consider that a life - so whilst its 4 times as much, it's all relative!

Minimum wage in the UK is set to increase to £5.93 later this year, even with this increase its not exactly going to afford you to have an even reasonable life, unless you work about 80 hours a week.

(I just got these averages off a guy in our Warsaw office, they are not something I plucked out of the air)

I'll have to let an accountant run my business

Not really, balancing the books isnt as hard as you might think - a basic booking keeping course would be adequate - then all you need is to see an accounant a couple of times a year - its not as expensive as you might think.

UK, Ireland / Hotels / accomodation in London for short-term stay? [6]

laterooms.com/en/k17178001_central-london-hotels.aspx#hzfigf

The Thistle Euston is in a good location for the tub and trains, it all depends on your budget, there's Ibis and the Travel Inn or Travel Lodge which are cheaper and do the job, or if you want higher end the Raddison is lovely..But I prefer the Bloomsbury personally (only if work paying though :D) )

Life / As EuroPride visits Warsaw - is it the start of overdue social change in Poland? (homosexuality promotion) [144]

So what it was made legal before britain, means nothing.

It wasn't "made legal" because it was never illegal in Poland!

Does your stupidity know no bounds? Are you aware of what the punishment was for homosexuals back in the day in England?

Amathyst you are such angry, bitter person who spends too much time on here.

I just get annoyed when fookwits like you write shyte.

Do you have civil partnerships there?

Actually yes they do, because I live in England.

Laws protecting gay people...erm nope!

I dont actually think gay people need "protecting" what they need is for silly kunts like you to shut up and let them get on with it...Which 99% already do... The battle has been won...go take a nap and wait for the next worthy cause!

Never been to England then have you.

I fill it with the mixer to the top, the drink will be too weak.

Or its a longer drink, Im not a lover of a glass of ice to a shot of mixer...you just end up with a watery mess that tastes horrid...unless you're expecting people to drink fast?

******** the only reason for parade is financial grant for organizers

Not really, women stopped parading in the street demand rights when they got the vote.

Now to:

the only reason for parade is financial grant for organizers, what you talking about is not right but privileges ...

You have no idea what you are talking about - a couple living together regardless of their sexuality should have the same rights - where a spouse can gain medical insurance because their husbands company supplies its so should a person in same sex relationship..this is just an example..there are 100s of others, you being an ignorant peasant, I wouldnt expect you to understand.

Same can be said for the UK too - Im also not aware of any "promoting" of homosexuality in schools over here either...

Not sure what the OP means, if she means the tolerent attitude, she might want to learn a bit of history, homosexuality was still a crime in the UK only 40 odd years ago...Yet it has never been considered a crime in Poland....which actually makes Poland a more "tolerent" country than England...

I've found this to be remotely true the Germans are rather cold and the Brits are often snobbish.

How many Germans and Brits do you know personally Allison?

Interesting.

Actually no, it was pathetic.

morally corrupt Anglo

Theiving scum (mainly cars in Germany) who work cleaning toilets and live illegaly in America hence the reason they cant get on the visa waiver scheme! Marry 3rd world immigrants in the UK for a few hundred bucks? How's that for a stereotype? Which nation am I talking about?

UK, Ireland / The secret Polish gay men in the U.K [133]

? If they look straight how do you know they're gay? Are you stalking potentially gay men?

Not all gay men are camp acting, there are thousands all over the western world who are just as straight acting as anyone else...

Couldnt have put it better myself - why do people think that ALL gay people want to be prancing in the street with over the top gayness?

Cause I know in Poland being gay is something most people thinks needs to be cured

There are plenty of idiots in the UK who think this way too.

I wish people would stop labelling people...gay, straight, bi...what difference does it make!

Another "fail" thread!

My mistake Alison, I missread it :( My apologies..

I've noticed that Europeans are usually more practical than Americans so thats why I brought up that story my dad told me.

Well, I got my fair share of toys as a kid and no "practical" toys and Im English..I think we're considered European :D

There is a big difference between how Europeans and Americans do things.

Not really, my niece just turned 18, she got a new laptop, digital camera a few grand in an account off parents and lot of jewellery and champagn and more cash off relatives...what do 18 year olds get in the US? (the cash off parents is for a car).

Look I have no idea what your family life is like or the grand parents...but kids in the UK get fun things on special dates...

rats and a pumpkin then... :)

white mice...not rats...You just ruined cinderella for me!

they quite often end up in the UK

We have one in our Warsaw office, he's just been shat on from a great height by some "lovely" Polish girl who ripped him off and dumped him :( She'll be beggin for his forgiveness in a few months, but hopefully he'll tell her to frigg off!

so, if you are not a Polish woman, but you want a Polish man, you really have a very limited field of play

Hardly, you'd be surprised to hear that there are plenty of Polish men who are sick of the "princess" attitude and quite like British women :D So you didnt get a "rare gem" you got one of the masses joining the ranks!

lol
why ppl spread such myths?
Avarage age of marriage is something between 25-33. And its often after a long term relationship (lasting for some 6 years). Lots of couples dont want to marry because they dont see any sense of marriage but are pressured by family. "Rebels"... lol sounds really ridiculous
