Love / Scottish & Polish relationships [229]

I know the Welsh are Brits. Where did I say otherwise?

Anyway, I generally enjoy my relationship but women love to jibber away. That's quite draining!

Love / How do I make a Polish girl cry? [107]

Exactly, pgtx, that's why I would never say sth as cruel and calculating as that.

Oh, was it cry of joy? Well, there are quite a few ways of doing that ;)

Tell her that you don't love her and say that she doesn't meet the criteria for a princess ;) ;)

Seriously, why would you want to be that cruel?

Well, they still fight, as do the Welsh. However, perception swings in roundabouts. Brits have very mixed perceptions I've noticed.

I think in temperament and, to some extent, by history. Both are rugged in the main and proud in the same way.

The language barrier works 2 ways, you are right. Sometimes they find another language cute and your mistakes even cuter.

The battle of temperaments :)

I think many relationships struggle due to the language barrier. Fiery tempers are another one that could destroy a relationship.

You refer to the English as 'the tools'? Expect to come in for heavy criticism ;) ;)

Southern, I think many Polish girls see past the Balkan bravado ;) ;)

@Slavianka, unfortunately not! My bro's wife gave birth a year ago and wee Matthew is the cutest little thing. I've seen him once and he is beyond adorable. He has flame red hair and I have some photos of him :) :)

@MW, we have definite Nordic connections and some of our folklore stems from there. However, as Trevek hinted, I was born on the wrong coast. I am from the east coast and most of the tales come from the west coast. Ondine was an eye-opener for me too.

@Trevek, it goes a little sth like that, yes. It's quite drab on the east coast. Too industrial and grey.

As for the thread, many Scots seem to have plumped for Polish women. Quite a good choice if you have the right tools to handle them :) (I mean approach/skills).

Poles and Scots are really pretty close, almost cut from the same cloth. Needless to say, much depends on character but if the will is there then there shouldn't be any problems.

UK, Ireland / Brit Polonia fighting anti-Polish stereotypes [46]

And the redneck interpretation was brought to you by Joe ;) ;) ;) LOL, nice one Joe :)

Poland? Now what state's that in? ;) (based on a true conversation actually)

The Brits probably think you don't like Marmite if you say anti-Semite to them.

UK, Ireland / Brit Polonia fighting anti-Polish stereotypes [46]

Stereotypes are just stereotypes. Everyone knows that some are anti-Semitic and homophobic folk and some aren't. Why fight that? Oversensitivity perhaps? Must it always be so black&white?

If people really wanted to know the answer, they'd read up on it.

Love / How to Make (Polish?) Women happy? [96]

Some things cannot be written here ;) ;)

Happiness tends to be very temporary in many women here. As long as they can bla bla bla, their temporary happiness is satisfied. Many don't seem to want to be happy. Provided they keep that up, men don't need to sway them from their wants.

News / Komorowski, acting president, is a shower! [51]

I can't stand his smug demeanour. He is acting like he has already won. Let's see what crap he comes out with in the forthcoming/imminent debate. What can this man do for Poland?

You think they are and then....BOOM! Making them happy is one thing, keeping them that way is something different entirely.

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

You entered their houses and observed domestic life in millions of households across the UK? The last I heard, henpecked/puss*-whipped rankings didn't feature in the last census ;)

I just mean doing things together. Basic things like washing, cleaning and shopping. Opening a door for a woman? I think I've seen that once in almost 6 years here.

I didn't say otherwise. They just don't like it when it's forced upon them and there is an expectation. My wife likes it, I think.

Who's wearing the pants? You ought to come to Silesia, Sok, the women here are far tougher and have a rep for being so.

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

No, young men leaving the nest and learning to fend for themselves. When they get domesticated, they can help out their women. From what I have heard, many Poles are behind the times when it comes to caring for their lady. These pathetic ego battles don't help either.

Well, don't be surprised if she flips you the bird and teaches you a lesson ;)

Why do you hate it? What's to hate?

Why is boasting good? It can make you look like a prat! Is that the point of life, to brag?

Nothing like true love then ;) ;)

Love / Polish men what is the worst thing a girl can do upon first impression? [360]

Well, that's just sad! British men tended to be like that in the 1980's but women made great inroads into creating the new-age man. Poland lagging behind yet again ;) ;)

Where is the rational aspect in sexism as I don't see it?? Who said women have to do anything for men? Any regulations? ;)

Cooking is a nice skill, why not do it together? Cooking is often about timing and sometimes a second pair of hands really makes the process go smoother. I don't see how you can't see this.

Men brag about control. A bit during a BJ would soon put that straight.

I think he is an exception. Many Polish women are happy to tell their men where to go. Women can really control their men here. Put him in his place, you are not there to serve him. I'd have rammed the meal in his face if I were you. What a chauvinistic pig!

Ah well, I'm off to clean up the flat. It's every bit as much my job as it is my wife's, no question. Tell that pig to shape up and start pulling his weight.

Food / How to cook Frozen pierogi? Boil or Fry? [90]

Exactly! Cheese ones will likely be that bit soggier although soggy is not a word I like to use. Soft and squidgy maybe :) Wrocław is right, fry them to make them crispy.

A certain type are that way. Don't forget that many losers left the shores of Poland to give themselves license to be monkeys. NEVER let them forget that they are only guests! I appreciate all the great hospitality I get here. Many Poles are really generous and criticise buffoons like your bf, sorry.

Food / How to cook Frozen pierogi? Boil or Fry? [90]

Put the contents of the bag (in their frozen state) into 2.5 litres of boiling and salted water.

After sinking to the bottom, mix/stir lightly with the reverse side of a spoon.

Simmer for about 5 to 10 mins on a low heat after they have risen.

I always wait til they rise to the top and leave them for a minute or two max.
