Classifieds / English cuisine week in Lidl shops in Poland [203]

Try the dimsum, frd. They are Chinese pierogi z mięsem :) I tried them in Izumo, Japan, and they were heavenly. I first tried them in Scotland.

UK, Ireland / Do Polish People Litter their own country (just like they do in the UK)? [84]

Drop your kegs means take down your panties but let's keep this discussion off the main board ;)

It's a skip in one part of the city where everyone, theoretically, should come together and dump their black bags with various rubbish inside.

Indeed I am :) :) ;)

Matowy, that's a good thing. I'm lucky enough to share the rubbish tip with the local shop as it's all part of the same complex. No wheelie bins for me in either Poland or Japan. They are effective in Britain though as there are more driveways there.

Unfortunately, people are in the environment game for profit. Look at Ralph Nader and Al Gore in America as evidence of that.

Like a central dump :) A skip is another name for it.

No, not at all. It is very much used but very British. I would've been more surprised if you had said kegs. Kegs są beczki but also knickers.

I don't have a GF so you are free to go ahead ;) ;) ;)

UK, Ireland / Poles living in the UK returning home or not? [63]

It's all a nonsense. It should be about being in touch which I feel that you are. You can read many papers online and be more informed than most Brits that live in Britain. The same principle applies to access courses. There are people that should be doing them but don't. Then we see people in courses that blatantly shouldn't be.

Zetigrek, super point! When my dad used to live in the north side of the city, he had to travel all the way across to the south with black bags containing trimmings from the hedge. I used to help him with this and it was a fair bit of petrol (though nothing in American terms, LOL). Do Polish cities have central deposits like in Altens, Aberdeen? I've seen local ones but not centralised.

Knickers? A strange word to use for a Pole ;) ;) Or I may have a nasty surprise ;) You may look like a woman but 'spring' a shock. We live in diverse times ;) Well, if you are offering, I am always up for verifying the validity of things ;) ;) Oh, go on then, my PM box still has some space ;) ;) ;)

Ironside, Poland really isn't doing that badly on this one. They have their act together and must look towards further improvements. Japan as a model would be sensible.

Sneaking out the back door with that one ;) ;)

OK, back to the topic. Sometimes the litter bins are overflowing and the authorities are not on top of it. However, there are depositorites here in which people can put glass, bottles etc etc.

Again, the Japanese system is much more efficient. They had a colour-coded system for litter and made you sign the bags. They trusted you to be honest. It really raises environmental awareness and was a sign of a developed society.

News / Komorowski, acting president, is a shower! [51]

Ironside is right again. BK is the lesser of 2 evils for many. Better the devil you know doesn't apply here as JK is the devil incarnate ;) ;)

That's exactly it in a nutshell. So why pay the man at all? He will be nothing but a rubber stamper. I could do that for 15,000PLN a month too.

Some do and some don't. I generally see Poland as a clean country, whose people make use of the available bins on the streets.

However, standards slip when abroad. A certain type of beer-guzzling Pole will have no respect for tidiness. The same goes for Brits and many others you care to mention. It must be ingrained in you to be otherwise and the Japanese are the prime example.

UK, Ireland / Are Polish people moving back home from the UK? [68]

Well, fused, blame GBC in Britain. Even the trade unions have turned full circle from the days of Scargill and are admitting scores of new immigrants in on the basis that they are Polish. The Poles are merely accepting the charity. Wouldn't you do the same?

UK, Ireland / Poles living in the UK returning home or not? [63]

OK, Matyjasz, I just want to throw sth into the mix without taking any sides on the matter. There is a widespread belief that those Poles who went to the UK and stayed there for, say, 5 years, have no right to vote here in Poland because they are out of touch with the realities here. I've heard this many times.

Plk123 has been out of Poland for a considerable period of time and also doesn't use Polish as often as a Pole living in Poland. On the other hand, I'm no less Scottish for being here in Poland so it cuts both ways.

Anyway, the Poles in the UK? Britain loves a social dilemma :)

News / Decoded talks inside Poland's president's plane are released in Internet [337]

Oh, absolutely. This is in concordance with the views of Polish aviation experts too. The pilots were reading distorted readings and the TAWS system kicked in way too late. This is the only credible explanation. Russian ATC had to know about this and avert it long before it happened. They kept telling them that they were on the right trajectory, which they blatantly weren't.

I tend to support the view that the pilot was at fault but, as you said, sth lies inbetween. The Russian ATC have protocols to follow and one of them is compulsory medical checks. The guy on duty at the time didn't get one.

I also don't like the way my blind man analogy was brushed aside. If you have a blind man, in this case the plane in the fog, with a human helper to guide him and he walks down a manhole, who is to blame? The guide, of course, as he is his eyes. They were under a moral obligation to assist more fully.

It was garbage right enough, MW. Arkadiusz Protasiuk had extensive flying experience, spoke Russian very well and wasn't suicidal. The Polish authorities are beginning to see holes in the Russian's story.

We need to see a credible and full report as to the things that don't add up in their account.

Talk about scapegoats. This is NOT the fault of the Poles, it's the fault of the globalist EU agenda that wants situations to spiral out of control so that they can step in and conduct their global engineering. A mixed Europe is a definite move away from national sovereignty where nation states regulate their own affairs through having the great majority of their citizens at home base.

So, wake up to what Levin, Sodemare and Van Binsbergen really mean and stop blaming the Poles.

Life is a contract (yup, I know) and they earned their places in the UK. If the government cannot do their job, don't blame the foreigners. Why did Brown resign, over Afghanistan? I don't think so! Unemployment and the foreign mass were what crippled him.

This is a great argument for limited government, especially in areas which are really outwith their sphere of competence. Suggestions must come from those who are the most experienced, not some government official who probably hasn't even read a flying manual.

News / UK might have anti-Polish socialist Prime Minister [29]

He might be Howling Harry Hoof, who knows?

UK politicians tend to be jumped-up twats anyway! Many of them see Poland as nothing more than a poor and degenerate country. How little they know!

Life / A Girl Told Me You Have to Be Goodlooking to "sustain" in Poland. [30]

LOL, good comment! There's no room for the vain here. 1000 different people will judge you in a 1000 different ways. I never worried what girls thought anyway. I was always more into sport and getting through uni well, then travelling/teaching.
