Life / Any there treatment centers for unmarried in Poland? [36]

When a Pole wants diversity, a Pole travels to exotic places.

Good 1 jola, first step towards a peaceful integration. Now imagine those exotic places travel to your country. They come with peaceful intentions, just their life sucked wherever they came from.

Being an immigrant myself in an international marriage I was actually searching for a safediverse neighborhood. Diversity is not only crime and ghetto. And if you want to call me hypocrite, that's fine. Looks like you have a strong need for labels.

I bet when you look for an appartment to live in, you look in those good white neighborhoods

I have Indian, Chinese, and Turkish neighbors. In my kids classes there are kids in every possible color. And I live in a very safe town with a blue ribbon school district.

Nathan, thank for the good laugh you gave me this morning. Lol, lol, lol

I'm with Ashley on that one. Nothing to worry about when it comes to population growth rates. Just some should open their minds, and close their eyes to the skin color.

News / The Animated Guide to Economic Success of Poland [8]

They didn't mention all the unemployed people that we could export to China in case they need more factory workers :)

On the positive note, I think the design of Polish pavilion in China is the best of all countries (I spent half a day looking at the pictures), and I also love the logo.

News / Will many Poles migrate to Germany in May 2011 (after opening labor market)? [157]

And here I thought Eastern Europeans were also Europeans...my fault!

You are The Good German, I have to give you that.

The first step to a solution for a problem is the acknowledgment of the existence of said problem.
In that regard we have to be grateful for Sarrazin. Now it's on the politicians...
PS: Even Sarrazins problems wasn't with Europeans (not even eastern Europeans)!

I think Sarrazin is the problem. Just look what you said yourself, he doesn't have a problem with the Europeans, with whom then? With the Muslims, with the darker sinned ones, with the people who sell fruit on the corner? I'm just waiting for the Kristallnacht to happen again.

A J

ust look at all the issues and problems between people, and then tell me that it has been a success? On top of all that, we have labour migration, and it's no mystery everyone wants to migrate to the same countries. What do you think will happen if we continue with that?

OK, AJ, you did not understand me. I have real issue with how the speach was worded.
If she stood there and said, "Listen people, we have a real problem, our social system is crumbling into pieces, we practically can't take any more people in, so this are the proposed laws that will help us regulate the immigration problem." Instead she just said, "Multi-Kulti has failed. There, I said what you all think."

And given the fact that Thilo Saraziin is a very well selling author right now, I'm really worried that it all will cause more and more issues between the foreigners and the society that none of this contributes to any constructive solutions.

It's not Europeans we have problems with!

Of course you don't have problems with Europeans. Just with the Eastern Europeans.

News / Will many Poles migrate to Germany in May 2011 (after opening labor market)? [157]

Actually there are quite a few Poles working white collar jobs, particularly in IT. I think if anyone will go to Germany, it'll be the white collar workers.

I can assure you they all will eventually come back, when they notice that they can't fulfill their professional aspirations just because they are from Eastern Europe. Whey Siemens corporate research center is in the States, full of Indian, Chinese, and Eastern European engineers? I happen to know a few of those people. They all say the same thing: Germans don't respect talent as much as Americans do. Over there it's more about the nationality, the skin color, etc. They will give you a job, let you work, that's for sure. But in 10 years you will be pretty much where you have started.

Despite the labor regulations many millions Pols work already there illegally. Even if more Poles leave, I think they will be the less educated ones. Germans are not so eager to hire foreigners in white collar jobs. And with all the "Failure of Multi-Kulti" propaganda it might really be not the best place to emmigrate to right now anyway.

Life / The best of Polish stories, drama and art [7]

Witold Gombrowicz, my favorite Polish writer. Trans-Atlantyk is a great novel. My favorite play is Yvonne, princesse de Bourgogne.

Life / Polish gimnazjums - memoirs of a teacher [32]

so you was tought multiplication at age of 3/4 ?! hmmm... coś kręcisz ;P

the "kndergaten" in US is the Polish "zerówka", and what e.g. German call Kindergarten is called here "preschool", or Poilsh przedszkole. Hence the misunderstanding.

You have to be 5 years old to enter the kindergarten in the US.

USA, Canada / Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH! [300]

you can always use state subsidized dentist

How do you find the State subsidized dentist?

A few years ago I needed root canal and crown. I was a student here in the US and did not have dental. The quotes were in $4,000 range. I actually flew to Poland. It was half the price including the flight ticket.

If you are hard working and motivated you will make it anywhere. No doubt.

I disagree however with the claims that Americans are rich. Some of them are, that's true. But if you see how much debt some of them acquire, it's actually scary.

I find it's more about looking wealthy, rather than being wealthy. A good car, a big house makes them look successful. Nobody knows it's on credit.

and who's to say that maybe you need to open your mind to a healthy dose of humour, and open your heart to a little bit of childishness every now and then?

I'm all open and alert. Now make me laugh :|

News / Why is Poland developing so slowly or in the wrong direction? Who is responsible ? [317]

I don't think Poland is developing too slow or in the wrong direction. If you compare it with the black hole the former East Germany has become, I think it's not doing that bad.

I also think, just like Ashleys mind, that that if a country has to do a 180% shift, it can't happen fast. The first step is to change people's thinking. If people are not trained to take initiative, they will not. Of course government should make it easier, introducing tax brakes, etc, the schools should educate the kids to find opportunities and take advantage of them, but your brain has to keep up with that.

Either way, don't want to turn this any more political than I already did.

Yeh, let's talk more about the "Reizen" of our old country.

Jag talar inte svenska. Jag tog bara en Clas på universitetet. Jag tycker om öl. Sjuksköterska är ett roligt ord. Tack Gud för Google Translate.

I hope for something much better in 2 years.

Let's hope it's not going to be Sarah Palin.

As for Obama being the worst President? I just think people put too much hope into him. He is a book smart guy who stepped inside the biggest mess. Do you know the Polish saying "Z pustego i Salomon nie naleje"? Given better circumstances he would be a great president.

So do you speak Svenska?
