But if you make $0.57 it is 100% more then not having job

6. Unemployment

It sounds a paradox that the Chinese economy can grow at 8% and yet unemployment is still a problem. The reason is that there are still many state owned enterprises which are grossly inefficient. Therefore, in the process of privatization and modernization many surplus workers are being made redundant. There is also a lot of unemployment (and disguised unemployment) in the agricultural sector.

No you can't. Not in all countries are people being put in the concentration camps and not everywhere people work for

"An average Chinese wage of $0.57 per hour -- or $104 per month -- is about 3 percent of the average U.S."

i was only putting two and two together i mean it would explain your somewhat blind patriotism.

It wouldn't explain anything as you don't know either one of us.
You can speculate, that's all.

Its not really a case of having to, its just the choices we make, if you married a foreigner and he wanted to live in his home country for a while you might agree, no?

Might is the right word. I personally wouldn't. I'm not talking for everyone else but I personally couldn't live better anywhere else. As I've mentioned already on PF, I couldn't enhance my life in any other country I know and I know quite many.

(some experts now believe this will never actually happen)

and they're most likely right because China's political system is enslaving their own people and as it was in the SU and in the entire eastern block, it will be abolished by its own people, sooner or later.

99% of the countries on this planet are worse off

Yeah, why don't they talk about China? What's so great about it? They treat they own people like slaves and make them work for peanuts, political opposition is being put in Chinese concentration camps like this one: theepochtimes.com/news/6-3-10/39083.html

I exercise my right to freedom of expression by critiquing

The freedom of expression is very often misunderstood. There's nothing wrong with a healthy criticism and I would never go against anyone of you if that was the case on PF. I have to admit, you're a little softer in your expressions that some other America haters here but still, your persistence can be very annoying when repeating the same all the time.

Why don't you try to see the positive sides of your new country? I know that Poles are not very optimistic people bu default but since you live here it would be nice to learn some optimism too. This country is not built on pessimism PP.

so why wouldn't we encourage that from people of other nations?

Dd they ever encourage you to talk crap about their countries?

American with Polish roots, Pennboy, as I've stated before...

There are all kinds of American-Poles out there, some feel still very Polish, some have kind of split feelings about it and some don't even talk about Poland, which of these possibilities describes you PP?

Ahh ha so most of what you write here has been galvanised into you by your parents.

that would make perfect sense.

Don't allow yourself to judge my parents because it's a long way for you to go to get where they have already been long time ago. You just wish you had parents like I do.

At least I don't have to immigrate to another country to search for my "happiness" because I don't have any future here.

Every country has problems

this is what I repeated at least 20 times on this forum to show that having problems is not just an American phenomenon. The problem is that you guys only concentrate on us like there's nobody else out there who struggles too.

China is not perfect but well on it's way to becoming a viable threa

If you read what I posted then you know that China is a really "viable threat" to itself.

I do because there's nothing wrong with trading with China.

I don't like the way the trade operates between the US and China, they should be forced to spend the same amount of money purchasing products from us as we are spending on Chinese products. Bad politics here.

First, where did I praise China?

I didn't say you in particular, did I?
As I said, we all have problems nowadays.

No need to wait. It's been happening right before our eyes.
But, if you insist... mainstream economists predict more hard times ahead. There are even mentions of bank bailouts version 2.0.

Well, I see people finding employment where I live right now, one of the positive signs.
Hey, you believe what you want and I'll stay with my opinion, the time will show who's right. I never said that it will be a fast process.

But the topic is the US

Is it? Look above "Think you're Polish (and live in the USA)?" It has actually nothing to do with our economic or other problems.

You guys just love to thrive on our problems because it lets you forget about your own, if only for a minute.

You would think a communist/socialist republic would do more to take care of its citizens.

The communism or socialism, whatever you want to name it, didn't work in the SU and the eastern block and it will fail in China one day too. Mainly because of the way they treat they own people.

The Chinese economy is heavily driven by exports of a range of goods... this is one of the reasons it has such high foreign currency reserves. This has also impacted a bit on its GDP growth which was about 12% in 2007 and the world bank is forecasting 6.5% growth this year.

and now:

Top Countries China Exports To:

* United States = $162.9 (+30%)
* Hong Kong = $124.5 (+23%)
* Japan = $84 (+14%)
* South Korea = $35.1 (+26%)
* Germany = $32.5 (+37%)
* Netherlands = $25.9 (+40%)
* United Kingdom = $19 (+27%)
* Singapore = $16.6 (+31%)
* Taiwan = $16.6 (+22%)
* Russia = $13.2 (+45%)

China's economy is very vulnerable, whether you like it or not.

theres alot
of resistence within this country as well

True. The future will show who's right and who's wrong. At present, it's nothing else but all kinds of different opinions based on personal preferences.

You can vote for the Presidential candidates but you can never become President if you were not born in the US.

"There are two kinds of elections in the US. General and Primary. a general election is used to fill an elective office, like mayor or senator. A primary election is one used by political parties to determine a candidate for a specific office, like president. There are different types of primary elections: closed--which means only members of the party can vote in the party primary: open--any voter can vote in any party primary: blanket--a form of open primary in which the voter marks a ballot that lists the candidates for nomination of all the parties, and you help select Democratic candidate for one office and Republican candidate for another office. There are several presidential primaries. A delegate selection only primary in which the voter selects delegates to the national convention. A delegate selection primary in which delegates indicate their choice for candidate but are not bound by their first choice. Binding presidential preference in which the delegate in bound to vote for the candidate they have indicated they support.

so what are the advantages?

1.No more dealing with the USCIS
2.You get to vote and can get elected
3.you are eligible for certain government jobs and benefits.
( you can get a government job without US citizenship, although citizens will be given first preference.)
4.As a US citizen you can stay out of the country as long as you like
5.will not be deported if committed certain crimes
6.more options to make a petition of a relative
7.you can get a US passport (which let you visit a lot of countries without visa)
8. if you live out of US, you can enter wherever you want
9.if you paid the SS and have the credits required to get it, you can get the money in any country.

Life / $3,000-$4,000 a month - would we have enough money to live in Poland? [273]

But the rent and the services are cheaper there.

not for Poles though. We've paid 1000.00 pln for a month for a house (nothing special) in Mikolajki and everyone was saying that it was cheap. You can get a house in NC for that kind of money too. In my eyes, Poland is even more expensive than the US (OK, at least NC).

Life / $3,000-$4,000 a month - would we have enough money to live in Poland? [273]

But the OP does have a family. Plus he is self employed, which means he pays his own health insurance which is probably six times more of what it would be in Poland.

you can't really compare this situation with Poland unless you go by 1:1 that means
$4000.00 = 4000PLN. Of course, if you take $4000.00 to Poland and exchange it into PLN, you'll definitely live a better life over there.

Now I'll give you some facts of how much you got to make to live in NC where I live,
if you have to rent a house or pay mortgage (not even a trailer), you can find one for a $400.00-600.00 (unless you want to live in a really nice house). Water bill about $10-15, power (of course it depends on your personal use) $40-120, car insurance (I know one for) $98.00/2 months, food (it depends again) $150 / person, car payment (it depends again) for one, why not just buy a car that you can afford to pay in cash for to avoid month payments? So where are we at, let me see, about $700.00 and if you have a family of 4, just add another $500.00 for food. Now tell me, you can't live with $4000.00 here.

It also depends on where you live in the US. You're absolutely right PennBoy, in general people can live a pretty good life with $4000.00 here. The question is, did she mean before or after taxes? If PP or Marek11111 had this kind of money to live, I bet they wouldn't say even one bad word about America, lol
