News / Komorowski won Poland's presidency vote? [125]

Thanks, I thought so too :) :)

You clearly aren't up to speed with the investigation. I suggest Szeremet and Rzepa.

smolensk-2010.pl/2010-05-26-questions-regarding-smolensk-air-crash.html
many unanswered questions from here. Just like 9/11, perfectly good questions.

I favour the official line and pilot error but, from what I have been reading on an official aviation forum, I can see the potential for a fabricated 'on course' line. Without further data, it's almost impossible to prove. However, it wouldn't surprise me if PO knew sth was amiss with the radar equipment in Smolensk. They can easily say it was working but then fiddle with it.

News / Komorowski won Poland's presidency vote? [125]

I can well imagine. PO stooges got a raw deal in the Smoleńsk investigation and pilots are having a hard time getting a clear picture due to 'omissions' and inexplicable holes that are not in conformance with how things should go. Kommie was too concerned with hiding potentially damning communist files, sth that JK wanted to take him up on.

News / Komorowski won Poland's presidency vote? [125]

Paulina, I was referring to inappropriate disclosure :)

Pete, I don't think he'll go for them but Tusk still might. You might get a false sense of the picture based on the Medvedev-Putin balance of power. Kommie is a puppet and will just rubber stamp most of what Tusk wants.

For me, he's a non-entity. A man who parades slogans left, right and center but is largely devoid of substance and clout.

I can't divulge such details, Paulina. I don't want to breach any legislation :)

He would have been there as acting President or Marshall, not as actual President.

News / Komorowski won Poland's presidency vote? [125]

Indeed they did :)

When the cameras are on, yes :)

As in those where they want to work together and trade :)

JK has changed his tune on that one :)

News / Will Komorowski be Poland's worst ever president? [72]

SwP, that depends on the market in question. Some prices go up with competition as a good name can really raise the price. Others adopt various strategies in order to compete but prices can rise in so doing. With the inception of the EURO, they will. Just like Britain suits the pound, Poland suits the złoty.

Komorowski is less concerned with the poorer people of Poland than JK.

Because of their last meetings. He came away with a favourable impression! Everyone knows that PO have close ties with the Russian government. PiS tend to be less forward about it.

That's ok, frd. I don't go with the conspiracy line on that anyway, just interested in what they are saying.

Komorowski, to his credit, doesn't go in for spies :)

Very good points there, Polityka. I've seen how expensive life is in countries with the EURO. Austria, for example. Ouch! What a farce! I didn't mind as I was on holiday but I couldn't live under such conditions normally and, more to the point, many poorer Poles certainly couldn't. I just hope BK issues a referendum, rather than a declaratory statement.

It's the foreign aspect that should be worrisome for Poles. Selling Poland will only incur the wrath of citizens but, the thing is, many won't even see it coming. I'd be monitoring the actions of Belka right about now. Liaising with that evil IMF is only gonna drag Poland down.

News / Komorowski won Poland's presidency vote? [125]

Will Komorowski now return those documents he stole? Will he ensure that the repairing of roads is to a set timetable? Will he acknowledge that WWII is in the past? ;) ;) Will he modernise the bureaucracy here?

The answer is NO. He is a puppet that will be largely ineffectual. Can this man be populist?

The good thing is that we can blame PO now as both leaders are from that party (or likely will be) :) Kommie wants to invite Putin to Poland. That's a good first step, one which Tusk has already taken before.

News / Komorowski - Russian stooge, traitor background [42]

I've said it before. If that story about Kommie's father is correct, I believe he would have been forced to convert. The Soviets of that time were hardly renowned for their mercy so his life would have been spared only if he served them. Different times, different reactions!

Agreed! He has fought an effective campaign :) Hats off to JK for conducting himself well. He has come on a bit since 2004/05.

I'm just waiting for BK to fall down some stairs. Sth like this, youtube.com/watch?v=hWib8GbrIlA ROTFL.

Komorowski will have done sth to amuse people other than speaking then :)

Good point, delph :)

Besides, I feel many elderly here are dull and sniping. They shouldn't get any more. For those that worked hard all their lives, that's a different story.

News / The chances for Warsaw to become capital of eventual Slavic confederation? [183]

I've said it all along, Crow. We are all Christians, regardless of our chosen denomination. Clinging rigidly to a subset only fragments the faith as a whole. A Christian church is exactly that, a place of worship and one to honour Jesus and his sacrifice, imputing his Grace into us.

Warsaw needs to champion a cause :)

Life / Talking over people in conversations; is it a Polish trait? [41]

I just have images of Rich approaching them, only to have both of them talk over him so that he can't explain himself :( :(

What rudeness! Ah well, it's better than the opposite where they sit there like decaying prunes and say nothing at all.

Time to crack open the champagne! I can't contain my excitement, such a charismatic young man, that Komorowski. Never a slogan, only the truth! He'll make Poland into a superpower in the next few years. This man has to be the next Leader of the Year in any magazine. Such a visionary!

Nothing like a joke post ;) ;) ;) I couldn't care less about this mumlak, marionette. When will his puppet strings be ready? :)
