Communists robbed all Poles!!! your money your health, freedom to hurt them was something good why is it so hard for you to see that? That Catholic Church has brainwashed you, told you what to do, how to feel about certain things, meanwhile they steal from the people take their money take their services to build for free, and molest little children. They do all those things they've been teaching you are wrong.

Do you really think it’s ok for kids to live with their mommy and daddy forever? Is that a part of the Polish mentality?

Well, your are ignorant, those cases are more common in Italy, and Greece I believe, so there is nothing about so called Polish mentality, other then, shortage of renting space, and low income.

Off-Topic / How would Poles react to a visit from Queen Elizabeth? [72]

Is she viewed as almost a celebrity or as the same as any other head of state

Well, she is viewed as some kind of novelty, because she is a queen,a rare bird nowadays the people are used to to boring parades of Prime Ministers, Presidents and such, but there is no some special interested apart from the general feeling the UK is in fact friendly country.

There were huge crowds last time - it seems a lot of people are interested in her.

See above and the fact that there is a lot programs on TV about her!

She's going there soon. It's an issue because some people in Ireland have strong views about historical injustices, and The Queen has had family members, including children, murdered by the iRA.

Well, apart from historical injustices, I think that Ireland cannot complain about UK, didn't she receive some billions pounds aid monies from Britain ?
I don't think that Poland could expect such aid from Germany, Russia or Austria? Those cheap bastards are only able to complain foully about Poles,dick-less sickos !

News / Lustracja - should Polish 'collaborating traitors' be allowed to hold positions of power? [16]

But in all reality, wouldn't anyone who rose to the top in a sensitive position be almost certainly some sort of collaborator?

Yes, indeed, in most cases anyway !
There was always place for some rare specialists.

I got a question for you, what make you to start this thread, you always seemed to support current establishment !?

News / Lustracja - should Polish 'collaborating traitors' be allowed to hold positions of power? [16]

So - a very simple question.

They should be striped from all monies, and should be allowed to vote forever!
They kids shouldn't hold right to become candidates in any level of elections!
The same goes for Commies!
Nor should that be able working in military, police or mass-media!

Saying that delph, you do realize of-curse that would cut down number of PO MPs and members for about 80%, not to mention your friends from GW - about 99%!Including their infamous boss!

UK, Ireland / UK: How to create a perfect scapegoat? [54]

The system stinks.

Sure it does, any system with deliver large chucks of monies into politicians hands.

The more that is paid in, the more help that is available if is needed.

I don't think that it works quite like that. I think that monies are being spend freely by politicians!
Also, I think that any-system which compel people to pay is simply an abuse and tax in disguise!

UK, Ireland / UK: How to create a perfect scapegoat? [54]

I wouldn't go that far but it should be based on what has been paid in.

You have been repeating that for a some time here, could you elaborate ? What do you mean?

History / Poland during the Renaissance [146]

sorry, could you clarify exactly what colonies england was supposed to have in the 15th century?

Sure, sorry its may fault!
It was my answer to jonni :

Since in 'western' Europe income and assets were distributed rather more evenly. The built enviromnemt surviving to this day demonstrates that. Poland in that period had a tiny fraction of the cultural achievements of, say, Italy or the UK.

Wrong assumption, because environment surviving to this day had been build in the late XVIII and XIX centuries.

That was my answer! Then I added :

During this time Poland had been colonised and at the same time England had expanded its colonial empire

Should be one sentence really!
Then I said :

The 15th century wealth has nothing to do with the present times.

Separate sentence, to stress my point. The rest as follows in said post.
I hope it is clear now? Sorry, while I was typing said post, my wife was nagging.:)

One issue is that Poland has dry weather and hardwood forests, so it has always been viable to build in wood.

To some extend that is true, I suppose smaller towns, could have been build in wood!

History / Poland during the Renaissance [146]

jonni

The renaissance! Somewhat earlier.

Sure, to avoid mesh-mash, read again my posts - I know that renaissance was earlier !

What about the rest?

Some palaces, churches and few building - the rest is a silence, I'm afraid - destroyed and crumbled into a misty fairy land stories !

I mentioned it in my first post, and twice since. Do you want me to tattoo a picture of it on my arse?

Would do it?

History / Poland during the Renaissance [146]

During the renaissance?

gee, 18th and 19th century !

Check the thread title.

Well, during that time Poland was filthy rich, look so called old towns in biggest town, the Renaissance huge influence on them (good example Poznan).

Yet only the castles, churches and a few isolated buildings survive.

Did you check in Lwów, Wilno, and lots of smaller places - direction east!
Not to forget Zamosc :

Secondly, yes Poland is no an island, and WWI and WWII done its deeds, not to mention a few wars like war with Sweden 1655-1660 when most of the kingdom's building's and towns were practically annihilated! Before was civil war with Cozaks bastards rebels, and so on ....

I'm surprised that you are surprised, maybe you read without comprehension what it all meant in practical terms!

The fact is that 15th century Poland had been one of the wealthiest Kingdoms of the world, and all that without Spanish or rather American gold mines!

Ah! Back then wealth was distributed more evenly in Poland!
