UK, Ireland / UK: How to create a perfect scapegoat? [54]

Government dole creates dependency so giving away money is never a good solution to a problem.
There is this old saying
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to sell fish and he will start a business.

Are the Polish people to be blamed for this irrational EU's decision? Oh, but they're so damn poor they need it. Is that what you really wanted to say enkidu and Alex? Look at “them” they’re getting free money because they’re damn poor Polacks… You know what? Fock the EU, and fock your stupid problems. Here is some Polish culture for ya, you as$holes

Damn, I'm so glad that I don't have to live there and hear about this s*it daily.

enkidu
Teffle

I was being sarcastic you douche. I don't need a hand out and I believe your government is degrading Polish people by heading out money like that. What I really wanted to say was that why don't you take that 250 and shove it up your as*.

Law / I was fined for not having a tram ticket in Poland. How does this affect me? [68]

I've been in Houston and had to use it's .... "mass (ha ha ha!) transit (ha ha ha!)"

That's sucks lol, why didn't you rent a car? Honestly, only poor people or environmentally conscious would use it there, see Houston is so spread-out that everyone else just drives. That's why they build 8 lane highways going each and every direction. Co kraj (state) to obyczaj.

Actually it's really good. You can get everywhere witout a car.

it's good?? comparing to what? .
- overcrowded
- dirty
- drivers are unfriendly, tramwaj cops are arsholes
- unreliable during the peak hours
- inefficient...
I would rather run everywhere or ride a bicycle even in the winter time.

Love / Why does my Polish boyfriend keep telling his mum our private business everytime we have words? [49]

I think you guys should make some popcorn tonight and watch Alfred Hitchcock's psycho.

if that fails go ahead and resort to a textbook psychology...

1)tell him that this type of behavior is unacceptable (and not normal)

2) establish unquestionable authority over him, confront his mom about this as well

Examples:
- Listen you douchebag, I’ll catch you one more time talking to your mommy about our personal business and you'll face consequences!
- Listen mommy, this is none of your focking business so back off.

3) apply the negative reinforcement in case of relapses

wash, rinse repeat

The bigger question is: Is this the type of relationship you wanna be in?

All in all, your boyfriend is a one weird pus$ycat and I hope he’s not Polish.

USA, Canada / Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH! [300]

I'm glad somebody can afford it!

Well, open an HSA, save up and purchase a health insurance for yourself if you think you may need it. It’s all about a choices.

Of course you can blame the government for everything, but I'm the type of a person that likes to have control over my money and I don't like to be told by someone else what’s good for me.

Preventive healthcare? Go ahead and shove it up ur as$. I wanna party, and when about to die because of it I need the best "reactive medical care" on the market available to fix me up so I can do it again.

I lived in a country with a social healthcare system and it sucked as$ big time.

USA, Canada / Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH! [300]

There was a study comparing UK and US health, it found that the poorest people in the UK were in better health than the richest Americans.

There was also a study that has shown that when sh*t goes really bad, like when you need open heart surgery or a transplant, the richest of British come to America to get it done. Go figure.

GORALU CZY CI NIE ZAL.

LOL, I’ve heard that song so many times at my family's "tearful" reunions,,, of course everyone was smashed and delirious too... so, nm

I think the biggest problem today is that people are not as resourceful and creative as our grandparents were before the age of supermarkets and chain stores... and television.

Yeah television, supermarkets, modern medicine and technology are the root of all evil. Let's revert to hunter-gatherer society and that will teach us how to be resourceful and creative again.

no brainer.. malnutrition is probably the country's biggest problem.

wha...? I thought the supermarkets and stuff are the biggest problem... well, at least now, in your world, the hungry/poor people have an opportunity to exercise resourcefulness and creativity.

It's true. Which is exactly why I said I am taking next year off.

How did you arrive at this conclusion? I thought in your opinion being well-off and having plenty of time off to enjoy your life is evil? As a matter of fact you trashed me earlier for saying that being rich and not having have to work is the way to go… wth?

Make you fat with that pasty complexion.. zitty and fat, maybe that is why you are miserable?

I'm actually tanned form sailing a lot and I’m in a decent shape as well. I wasn't what you call “banker" all my life. I've experienced my share of a hard life in the military and abroad.

and to all of you still debating...

life is not easer in the US but I believe there are far more opportunities for better life here than anywhere else.

9 out of 10 adaptability, resourcefulness, intelligence and a talent or a skill of some kind will get you where you wanna be …

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

You're addicted to PF? That sucks man but i can see why.

I do have to admit that letting it loose by compulsively ranting about stupid sh*t and than reading the responses from other people like it could be addictive. Yeah...

That's why I stay in Poland-because I'm happier here that in other places. And when you say that ppl hate sth in their countries...every place on Earth has some downsides and the only choice we have is the type of disadvantages.

I respect your choice.

To me it’s a matter of the resources and options…

I could live in Krakow in M3, vacation in Egypt, be dependent on my family, driving 10 year old car in – 3 C winter
Or
I could live in around Houston, own a house, vacation anywhere I wish, be completely independent from my family and drive a new car in sunny 72 F degree weather.

You see, being able to have choices makes ME happy in life.

Overall the availability of abundant resources creates a better potential for enriching your life’s experiences.

I'm happy to be here.

Yes,for many ppl their goal is more important than some oath... That's why it would be interesting to know what emigrants think of the pledge.

Exactly, means to a goal and no one forces you to do it..

I know quite a few people abroad with a limited understanding of anything outside of Poland and who are hopelessly stuck in that mindset, so I guess I’m practicing my debating skills for when I need to socialize with them again. Also I’m solidifying my understanding of the personal correlation with the “old country”.

What about you hoss?

I know that in some countries my life would be easier

Life is not easer here but there are more oportunities

You shouldn't but what if you're also emotionally connected with different country?I'm not saying that you like it better but just the same? You have to repudiate the other country or lie.

I can't say that I'm emotionally connected with Poland in a positive way. Draw your own conclusions.

Noone said that you should feel miserable.I'm happy in Poland but it's interesting for me to hear from the immigrants in the US how they felt in that precise moment.

Honestly, in that moment, i felt like an opportunity for a new life was given to me and that i'd never have to go back to Poland. You've asked, here is my honest answer.

as a side note, decades later I still don't regret it. I'm young in my early 30's so who knows. so far so good.

What you've got going for you in Poland if i may ask?

people like havok and trewer are stupid. It is so obvious that they are blind to what America really stands for today. If not then in in that case too, they deserve zero respect for being slaves and even eager servants to the corporate and corrupt government of america. This kind of attitude and behaviour demonstrates this. Are they at all Polish, as I know no Pole thinks this way.

I'm back, well this is where I left off before I left... hmm, Very interesting opinion.

Let me give you some highlights for stupid Havok's 2010...

I went on vacation to Spain for two weeks, my wife and I learned how to sail. Let me tell you, sailing in a tropical weather in November and December would make anyone smile.

I went to NYC see a Broadway show "Shylock" with Al Pacino.

I vacationed in San Diego for a week... that was nice than I spent two weeks in Philadelphia, mostly party time. I helped financially my Plastic Pollock/Gerry family...

I bought a new car, house, furniture last year.

Well I’ll be damned, call me stupid and blind to what America stands for today...

Bracie Polaku how was your 2010? Dopeandomine feel free to chip in and see if i care.

The best part is that no one can take my experiences away from me.

land of the free and home of the brave. That is complete bullshit.

I think you’re one of those welfare bloodsucking losers who are too lazy to get a job and whine and blame everything but themselves for their misery. Get to work you trash.

Another successfully brain washed citizen, job done by the powers that be. You'd totally kill for your country wouldnt you? regardless of whats morally right..

Patriotism gets me every time, the right to feel superior based on the lottery that is ones place of birth, or in the case of many American's - an adopted country.

You over analyzing it. No i don't feel superior and i wouldn't kill for my country blindly. I have a freedom to decide.

a lot of people doesn't understand the rights and freedoms they were given here. I don't see a point in trying to explain this to you now.

Patriotism is perceived differently here then in Poland.
Some of the examples of what's considered patriotic here in the US are:

- raising the determination or morale of their fellow citizens during hard times
- displaying the national flag,
- singing the national anthem,
- participating in a mass rally,
- placing a patriotic bumper sticker on one’s vehicle,
or any other way of publicly proclaiming one’s allegiance to the nation.

if you think that being patriotic is all about killing blindly then may god help us all.

Disclaimer
that if there is a god, i don't want to accidentally "brainwash" anyone into thinking that there is a god.

you never know with people like you around.

USA, Canada / Expat Poles swearing allegiance to the US - how did you feel? [157]

It was an honor and a pleasure and I'm proud to be a part of this nation. I fought for this country and I took the oath in the service and I would do it again.

I'm not embarrassed of swearing allegiance to the US and I have no regrets. It’s my home, my family and friends.

Give me one reason why I should feel different about it.

It’s a really silly question anyways. Just because you’re miserable in your own country it doesn’t mean that I have to be miserable living in mine.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Life / The most dissapointed with Poland are those who have Polish origins. [35]

I would like someone to define what Poland is and why would anyone miss it. I visited a few times and I couldn’t wait to get the hell outta there.

I’ve met a lot plastic Pollocks who shared my experiences and observations. It’s nice to visit but live there, no way.

Frankly I think Poland is a sh1thole in comparison with the US. Things I like about Poland are the food, and other plastic Pollocks like myself and that’s it. polish heritage is bunch of communistic crap anyways.

Oh and btw, I would rather live in Siberia by myself than with you two in Poland… and I’m talking to you Delph and ZY.
