News / Polish-German Reconcilliation Seminar [491]

Greece is a shi-- country which even cannot run its own finances properly, so I am amazed why you should expect any decent work done by their police force.

Why do you even bother reading, much less taking seriously, Crow's posts?

Take care, Łyżko. Crow has both Svetovid and Perun on his side and they are both very powerful Slavic gods and indeed more powerful than those little and funny Greek gods like Zeus or Apollo.

Svetovid knows what He doing. Powerful is his revenge on northern Serbs.

You do realize, Crow, that if the northern Serbs were not so quarelsome and not fight with each other almost all the time, they could have been spared the effects of Germanic invasions onto the Elbeland and the country could have been Slavic to these very days. The northern Serbs were very good at fighting, but every time they had managed to repulse the Germans to the western side of the river Elbe and Saale, they began to fight tribe against tribe.

Couldn't Svetovid have done something about that at that time?

Germany is of Serbian origin... . Probably the most insane thing I have read so far by Crow... .

Many Germans are of Serbian origin, or better say of Wendish origin, particularly those living in the former DDR. Did you know that even towns in West Germany (in NRW, if I'm not mistaken) were once described as purely Slavic in some very old Persian sources and I have found the info on that in the German press (either 'Berliner Zeitung' or 'Berliner Morgenpost' or 'Die Zeit' or 'FAZ', I can't remember exactcly where it was)?

UK, Ireland / 31 year old Polish man causes accident under influence of alcohol and kills 8 [198]

'nationality'

Agreed, this is not only American usage, but Western European also. In Poland, however, nationality and citizenship are meant separately. The term 'nationality' in Poland and Eastern Europe is roughly what 'ethnicity' is in the so-called "rotten" West.

I may be wrong, but in the old type of identity card (the one in the form of a booklet), people were assigned their declared nationality, despite the booklet itself being proof of Polish citizenship.

This is the ryczałt, but in order to benfit from this convenient form of taxation one has to notify the Urząd Skarbowy about it not later than the 20th of January, I think.

We can reconcile with the Germans once they give us some 800 bil Euros

Where did you get that figure from? The Greeks want Germany to pay 270 billion euros according to TVP Info. Could our Greek friend whom not a single woman will resist please confirm this?

That could annul almost the entire Greek debt which is 320 billion euros

And this obsession of antiquity comes out of what in you?

I should remind you that Greek antiquity comprised the Spartans who were famous for throwing newly-born babies judged unfit for fighting as adults off the rocks into the sea. Ha ha ha, that was your Greek antiquity!

Will Poland give back the land it took to Germany and also compensate the families of the people it stole this land from?

This was decided by the Big Three during the Conference in Teheran in 1945.

The inhabitants of Silesia for example lost evrything.

Much of Breslau was destroyed be the Germans themselves after they had declared it "stronghold" and began to destroy much of the city to make room for military installations. Also, they had forbidden the retreat of the German civilians from the city of Breslau and as a result of this tens if not hundreds of thousands died as a result of cold, hunger and disease.

Silesia was illegitimately aquired by Germany (Prussia) from Austria as a result of the war started by the aggressive Prussian military in 1741. Germany apparently lost in 1945 what was not theirs.

Law / Question about Polish public nudity law [54]

Police usually comes after the crime is committed.esp with the cops in Poland.

Why should police come if crime has not been committed yet? If you say they should come to prevent a crime, how would you know beforehand the crime would be committed?

If they knew the crime would be commited, they would be arriving just before all those shootings taking place at schools in the US, for example.

So, not only in Poland, but in the US as well the police come after the crime is committed.

Language / Why 'walczy' and not 'walczą' - Polish language question [20]

"Dwóch mężczyzn walczy" - a very strange language pattern for a foreigner, indeed. But quite common in Polish, much more common in fact than a more 'normal' construction - "dwaj mężczyźni walczą". It has even its special name in grammar, but I fail to find it on the internet.

Love / Marriage problems in Poland [50]

Kaziu was a secret member of Opus Dei

Never heard of it, but it's possible. Kaziu was quite sane and very reasonable as Prime Minister of Poland. But then Our Great Leader Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński decided to call him off from his post (that was under PiS in Power Phase One 2005-2007 which period had been called 'the Fourth Republic' then) and Kaziu apparently decided to seek some consolation in the arms of a certain Isabel. I'm sure he had never expected at that time that he would be filmed by her when sitting on the toilet seat when things get harsh between him and her. So in a way we may say that JK is partially responsible for Kaziu's present misfortunes. Kaziu has often been invited to comment politics on different TV channels, but now I'm afraid this will be stopped as people may tend to project the image of a naked man shouting in the toilet room onto the picture of an elegant former politician talking to them in front of a TV camera.

Back on topic, I'm surprised that people seek advice for their maritial problems on a forum like this or on the internet in general. People hear only one side of the story speaking and only that part of the story what that side wants to tell them. In reality, the truth may be kind of different to what the other side might want to tell us. As the ancient Romans used to say: audiatur et altera pars.

Isabel case

The latest video published by Isabel just a few days ago shows the former Polish Prime Minister shouting at her while sitting naked on the toilet seat. Have you seen it?

A fascinating stuff, I must admit ...

What thing did he do that isn't appropriate???

Rather than supporting her in those harsh circumstances he was taking his time googling across the booking.

the problems between her parents grew to a police call, her father's arrest,

The problems between her parents seem to be rather serious (her father's arrest) and maybe she feels you have not been taking much notice.

I had planned a 2 week surprise holiday for this year and I have already booked all the hotels in the route I had planned every detail :(

Instead you took to something else which isn't necessarily the most appropriate thing to be done at these circumstances.

News / Poland versus Greece in economy [175]

We've already got ...

we'll continue to ...

You may be right except for the fact that speaking in 'we' seems in your case to be a very far-fetched exaggeration ...

Another clueless dude with idealogical approach to EUR...

And you are broadcasting from what $hitty country on this planet when speaking so loudly on behalf of the Polish people in Poland?

Thats parasitic behavior at its best

Parasitic behaviour was the behaviour of Greece when she cheated and milked the euro zone beyond all imaginable levels. I say, the morals of the modern Greeks is as low as the morals of the modern Turks with whom they should form a lovely confederation. Ancient Greeks must be ashamed of you and turn in their graves because of you, modern Greeks ...

I have no problem with losing the €. Let the system implode.

The reports of the euro's death have been greatly exaggerated. Europe has not once in history been able to stand up again. The European project is going to move on and any morons from the US who say it will not are wrong. Poland should adopt the euro in the not-too-distant future. If Poland is ready to receive money from Europe, it means she should also be prepared to receive the common currency.

If she is ready to receive money, but not ready to receive immigrants is another question. Rumour has it that Victor Orban of Hungary is ready to accept the immigration quotas imposed by the EU. That could have been a major blow to the policy pursued by Poland.

how would I know if you are Polish or not,

If you don't know if I am Polish, why did you say I am not Polish?

And what is precisely the set of opinions that prevents someone from being Polish?

Nobody has right to insult Greece.

Nobody has the right to insult Macedonia by telling them what name they shouldn't choose for their country.

Hey Roz and Maf, have you always been so bloody serious on to think that my post was about anything else than making a little provocation towards that brave young Greek man? It is hard to believe, Roz, that a woman who chops her own wood would ever come up with such a suggestion...

Sorry about that he obviously has no clue as to the history between Greece and turkey, he is not Polish

What - I am not Polish !? Has your dementia been progressing so fast lately or have you been smoking something too strong for your age?

[moved from]

Greece should give up the euro zone and let itself be annexed by the neighbouring Turkey. Turkey's growth is terrific and both countries could form a great Aegean Empire which may control the Middle East successfully with a little help from their friends, the Americans... As a sign of eternal friendship between the two countries Istanbul should be re-named Constantinople and then declared new capital of the new empire.

Life / Poland safe for a Greek? [93]

slavs arrived only around 550 in that area that is today FYROM is a fact and can also be read on old church documents.

Indeed, they arrived in the area called Macedonia and remained there ever since. Does that mean the name of the area has been changed since then?

So you're recognizing the existence of the country of Macedonia? Good for you!

Greece should stop insisting on the nonsense concerning the name Macedonia as soon as possible. The folk who lives there is different than in the times of Alexander the Great, but the area has retained its name in continuo. Nothing special about it really. The territory of East Prussia, for example, was once inhabited by some Prussian tribe (Baltic folk), but in the mediaeval ages the Prussian language disappeared after the Teutons of Germanic origin came there invited be the Masovian prince Konrad and later on conquered the whole land. Then settlers from Mazovia also came in and settled in southern parts of East Prussia. Nevertheless, the land had been retaining its original name 'Prussia' all that time and the name was even passed onto the whole Kingdom of Prussia until 1945 when it crashed under the strength of the invincible Red Army of the Soviet Union.

Second, the Greek language in its classical form sounds of course completely different to modern Greek. No way that Alexander the Great could ever comprehend modern Greek! I remember that I once read in the memoirs of a British aristocrat being fluent in classical Greek how he went to Greece in the 19th century and started talking to them in that ancient language. In reply, the 19th century Greeks stared at him in bewilderment and simply said nothing to that weirdo. And this is yet another reason why Greece should say good-bye to the ancient Greek Macedonia and stop being silly in opposing the modern Slavic Macedonians choosing the right name for the country they inhabit.

Life / Poland safe for a Greek? [93]

I'm sorry I'm ignorant about it, I don't know if it's the same branch of Christianity as Greek Orthodox churches.

Every Orthodox church is autonomous that is 'autocephalic'.

Some may ask you about Macedonia

In Poland the name 'Macedonia' is associated either with the former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia or with ancient 'Macedonia' where Alexander Macedoński was born and whence he set off to conquer vast lands including Egypt and Persia and reaching India. The concept of aegean Macedonia is largely unknown and that land would simply be considered Greece.

We know that he [Aleksandar Makedonski] with the Greeks often spoke through an interpreter.

And how do we know that?

Life / Poland safe for a Greek? [93]

No, you won't have any problem.

While such incidents remain extremely rare, there was an incident of that kind in Warsaw in March 2017, however.

A Greek man trying to get on a bus in Warsaw was pushed back by a group of young Polish men and next beaten up on a bus stop. As a result an ambulance was called in and took the victim to hospital. The attackers ran away immediately.

Despite their quick getaway, the police caught all the offenders in several days. There were seven of them aged: 20, 17, 21, 32, 24, 19, 23.

Are we entitled to say that those "true Polish patriots" were defending the (in)famous concept of "Polska dla Polaków" mentioned by Dirk in another thread?

Its about nationalism and standing up to israel/jews with a clear message - Polska dla Polakow!!!
