Yes...I think so too....they are not very popular...to different from the Germans...they don't like us and we don't like them (the exceptions prove the rule).
I had the Turks in mind also as I compared the Jews with the Poles....that's why it's hard to believe that the Poles were all peachy to the Jews....

And didn't they live mostly in their little shtetls without much contact to the Poles...with their own language (Yiddish - a German dialect), their own schools, their own professions, their own clothes? Strict Ghettos even before the Germans came? Not very assimilated I would say. Not to forget the regular pogroms!
The Jews in Germany to the contrary were totally assimilated...not many famous scientists from polish shtetls either...why is that?

Na ja....the most spoken native language is German and you can bet that business partners in the Swiss, Germany, Austria, Netherland, Belgium, Liechtenstein etc. speak german between them.
They have to resort to english when speaking with Brits or Americans because those barely speak german, it's a matter of necessity.

On September 26 General Tadeusz Kutrzeba, deputy commander of Warsaw, started capitulation talks with the German commander. On September 27, at 12.00 a cease fire agreement was signed and all fighting halted. Soon afterwards Warsaw capitulated.

Shrinking populations are the way to go for all people on the Earth.
The Earth can't bear much more people (or we should invest much more into space travel to settle other planets).
Also in highly industrialised (wealthy) countries more and more machines take over the jobs which earlier humans did.
So the need for human menial labor shrinks too.
It's the same like if wealthy families have mostly much fewer kids they cherish and advance and care for more than the mass breeding in poor countries where the children are the only way for the parents got get cared for later.
So a shrinking population is nothing to fear or something negative - an unhealthy balance between the old and young instead is, that must be worked on.
Natural resources are still a cause to go to war over but also that will change. The Earth just hasn't the resources to "feed" so many humans alot longer.
Alternatives are needed and WILL be found, starting with oil
and oil products. Oil becoming scarce and rare in the next century already....I'm fairly sure scienists are working hard to get independent.
So...the fate of a future super power will be indepedent from population count and natural resources.
The deciding factor will be the human brain and his achievements and maybe the military! No reason why Europe shouldn't be leading...

Anti-Americanism is a trademark of the left/liberal...and since the 68'er students revolutions West Germany is firmly a leftist country...that's changing though (and the Eastern part never was that leftist/anti-american to begin with for obvious reasons)!

Germany is better...not as much violence, not as much crimes, not as much poor (even our poor live better than the US poor)....Germany is not as split into the very rich and the very poor than the US (not yet anyway).
Germany is more orderly!
We care for our sick and poor better...better and more rights for the workers (till now anyway)
I know America a bit (traveling) and I say it's a great country for holiday...but I as a German
prefer the more reserved (because more honest) attitude of the Germans...(but worst are the Italians...all that arm waving and screaming whilst talking...)

They came from all parts of Poland, among other things "Masuren". As a Slavic people with Slavic culture and language they left traces in the entire Ruhr Area until today, some went back again, but most remained. Many people in Ruhr Area have Polish ancestors, often also Polish surnames. ..."
Most Poles today in the UK and in Ireland are just day laborers who are not permanent residents. They're just filling a job void in those countries and making a buck - and then returning to Poland.
Erm....there must be millions of now Germans with polish roots who came for work and stayed!

Don't get me wrong....it's all well when we talk about religion only (Adam and Eve etc).
But an ethnic history is something else alltogether....you shouldn't mix it!
Right now you are still a religion only in my mind....with a belief shared first with many people in a certain place in a certain time.
The same with the paganism in northern/central Europe before Christianity got imported.
Just sharing the same beliefs didn't made them a race! (And sharing christian beliefs or having a christian mother doesn't make one of a "christian race")
