Many aren't blonde and blue-eyed. 3rd world? Hardly! Parasites? They contribute to local economies through tax.

News / Is Jarosław Kaczyński the new Lech Wałęsa? [74]

True enough, mafketis. It's by no means as clear when it comes to Smoleńsk. I just feel that they didn't guide them in well enough but I felt that the Poles dug their own hole. They were smug and cocky and they told ATC 'watch how real pilots do it'. We saw, alright ;)

Sth like debestka (we are the best) was said. LOL, not now.

Love / the strange polish girl who broke my heart [30]

Yeah, you are spoken to when work doesn't enter the equation. When it's 'pracy pracy pracy' for them, you have to remind them that you exist.

I have seen some very weird emotions in some women here but, then again, no different from elsewhere.

News / Nigel Farage voice of reason for Poland and EU? [79]

Merkel wouldn't be happy that you said that ;) ;)

Nigel is the man! He has the bottle to speak out strongly against perceived oppression and 'convenient' political appointments. The EU is one big steering committee.

News / Is Jarosław Kaczyński the new Lech Wałęsa? [74]

It's quite obvious what he means and any intelligent person can see that. I'll give you a clue. I predicted Nigel Farage would have his food poisoned and I was wrong. However, I was just looking at a practicality, any way at which he could be harmed. As it turned out, his airplane mysteriously crashed. This despite a VERY experienced pilot at the helm. It's all too clear how it works and the sentiment, therefore, should be clear too.

Work / Advice on Teaching English in Poland [709]

Caveat emptor applies. It's such a basic thing to read the contract, together with the smallprint. Rush it at your peril!

Yes, ok :)

Wanna go somewhere nice? Go to Żywiec. There is a place there called MEGA which overlooks the lake and a lovely mountainous backdrop :) You can drink fresh Żywiec and enjoy some top food too.

Oh, come on, Ironside. She wasn't in Ruda Chebrze long enough ;) ;)

Life / Do Polish People steal a lot? [330]

Wrocław was good enough to outline a story here. He is trying! I've never had anything stolen from me here, save a pen or two.

I didn't name the person that said it and was just exposing blatant hypocrisy, no word bending to cover up any goofs. I think that much was clear!!

Yes, I see I have been quoted again above but will move on.

Some steal a lot and some don't.

You can't make blanket statements like that, Delph. Speak Up has a good rep here and, I hope, with good reason.

It's funny. Foreigners have stereotypes about it but Poles come right out with it :) Most Poles I've spoken to seem to think it happens more than it should.

Aha, come on then. We are off on the deflection course again, so let's have a broader perspective while you are at it. How often does it happen in Outer Mongolia? How about Swaziland? Let's get a rounded perspective and large scale on the go here. I'm interested, does it happen in the Outer Hebrides too?

Seanus (reiterates that he has NEVER quoted anybody since Dec 2007. The Mods will back me up on this. I mean in the traditional way)

They were notorious for that amongst Germans and Scots, Wrocław. My wife is just describing a stealing story to me. She believes Poles are awful for this. Also, they are still Poles, Wrocław. Mafia or otherwise. 'The Poles' is a FAR more diverse term than anyone here seems to conceive.

Seanus (I think I should ignore her, meaning no name references which I didn't use. Not meaning 'don't treat anybody seriously or otherwise').

"I think we should ignore him" (sb and their logic, LOL)

Midas has a good point. Specific kinds of crime happen, e.g car theft. The Poles were notorious for that back in the day. The Japanese for umbrellas and bicycles. However, it doesn't make either a nation of thieves. I don't imagine there being too much theft here in Poland.

See the value or just all conned? I can't make an informed comment either way as I've never been interested in the BC but I've heard mixed reports, generally negative.

There are some thieves here, like everywhere. It was more a thing of the past to go into Germany and steal their cars. Times are better now :)

News / Poland - the least liked German neighbour. [210]

Well, Tusk values both Russia and Germany. He is not envious of any success, he is just focussing on maintaining cordial ties. Poland need not get involved with America in their provocative noises over Iran and NK. Their nuke obsession is caused by devious insiders who know that war brings profits. Many Americans are upset with this too. Hersh and Ritter have sought to expose the fallacy of nuclear threats.

News / Nigel Farage voice of reason for Poland and EU? [79]

Oh, come on ;) ;) He is not a character from Stephen King's IT either (Pennyroyal?)

I want to read his book, Fighting Bull. I've always like the intelligent voice of dissent, a hallmark of democracy.

Banjo, look at the bigger picture. Germany has the same global interests as Anglo-Americans. They play the same games and are in on the same funny business.

News / Nigel Farage voice of reason for Poland and EU? [79]

I encourage you to watch for yourself. He also has sensible views on immigration into the UK. He sees how the globalists have opened the floodgates so that people become increasingly mixed and thus need umbrella control systems. He advocates caps.

News / Nigel Farage voice of reason for Poland and EU? [79]

1) He is firmly against the anti-democratic practices within the EU

2) He loathes Ashton and Van Rompuy for securing positions based on no merit

3) He provides insight into how we went wrong in the credit crisis

4) He values national sovereignty and not merely blind obedience to a supranational entity that has overstepped the palliative that is subsidiarity.

5) He advocates openness, transparency and accountability in democracy.
