History / Why did Hitler kill so many Jews in Poland? [261]

In the early 1930's Pilsudski voiced concern over the large Jewish population in Poland. He recognized the Jews will require their own area.

In 1938 @ Evian Conference, Hitler asked the globe to accept his Jews and even offered to transport them on luxury ships.

So Hitler was surprised when Poles defended "their Jewish brothers". Hitler punished Polska for bringing the West into the War.

The legal system here isn't often based on logic, but rather arbitrary decisions made by judges.

Definition of the system in the USA.

When did Americans vote on demolishing slavery? When did they vote on gay marriage? Most enormous social & cultural changes were done by judges, some not even elected.

I was reading a German forum today and one individual joked in reply to someone defending Hungary's border/birth rate stance; they joked in 2300 there will be no one left behind those Hungarian borders. Maybe. But does it ultimately matter if the Nation "remains" by nothing more than name. Current Poles are angry "Everything in Poland is foreign owned" imagine when Polish born and raised will be criticizing Polish culture/history and yes......even blowing up Polish monuments. Envision a future when "Polish mistreatment of Jews" is the center of History taught in schools. When our misfortunate post Commonwealth is blamed on us being "too Polish".

The West tries to fight Catholic Church as it is the last stronghold against the western wave of complete social and cultural demise, I am glad it is losing the fight, at least in Poland.

The next battle will be fought against the Polish expats returning with their multicultural children

Here is the thing folks. When you are really into someone "he/she is clingy" isn't considered. Meaning you don't care how often that person contacts you. But if it's someone you kinda like but aren't sure about, then yeah.

So usually, when someone is distant: they just aren't that into you. Doesn't mean they can't become more interested but at the moment they are just keeping channels open before someone else/better comes around

You can either sit and wait OR take a shot & move on.

Going to work for 45 hours a per week from the age of 20 right up till around 65 is not fcuking normal mate.

Hahah. Well someone needs to work buddy. I understand and have gotten burned out from certain jobs.

I lived in Southern California and I disagree with the regions decision to Go-Weed. Living among a population on daily drugs is essentially the direction USA has taken. At-least in a city like San Diego it seems to slightly curb the DUI epidemic

Because the vast majority of people sick with HIV - is fault of their own

Why did the Soviets put us in gulags? Pretty obvious, they didn't even spare their own.

@Dolno: absolutely, more education is needed! ;). True, like you write, people can get aids without being drug addicts or homosexuals but of course too hard to undestand for all the "talibans" above.

Unfortunately the Turkish doesn't have an attitude even close to that, and they even deny that they commited that atrocity.

I hope Turks never change. I'd love to have them on my side during a conflict. They are idealistic and stubborn. Sound familiar? In some ways Polish Men have more in common with the Turk than post-WW2 German.

I spent some time in Wroclaw a couple years ago and coming from San Diego, I could definitely see myself settling down there. I'm actually heavily considering it now that Germany is a major question mark.

Given your issue with the Polish language, it kinda forces your hand to live in a big city. But that is probably what you'd prefer [coming from the West] anyway.

Given what you have posted, I think you would be fine. You seem experienced and wouldn't be surprised by any Polish lemons :D. At the worst you might rely on the increasing British ex pats, in the short term. There are a-lot of Spanish students in Wroclaw as well, so if you speak it......

As posted above, Poznan is a city that is often brought up. Krakow and Warsaw might be becoming too Western for your liking. It's been a while since I were in Gdansk. Someone else will have to comment on there

PS: I enjoyed reading your posts and perspective. Myself being someone planning the same move [return] to Central Europe, so I relate to a-lot of what you said. Post more!

You can't put a monetary value on that. Furthermore you will need us when your homegrown Muslims start blowing themselves up.

But Hope steadily faded [resulting in countless drinking themselves/health to death]. Fortunately this was before Internet & Social Media so families/neighborhoods were forced to enjoy what they had, together. Misery loves company you could say.

My parents always felt it was counter-productive to force people inside the Iron Curtain. This was before the Information Age so stories were passed on as legends. My father was a sucker for the Freedom Radio. He bought all of the propaganda. Then again, he also benefited from American work in Iraq [mid 1980's]. The money he sent back home to us, did offer us a little extra benefit. My Aunt owned a store so she was able to put food/supplies to the side for us/the family. But people vacationed and they vacationed well. Hungary was the popular spot for my family.

Communism in those times [as with Cuba recently] has a hopeless romanticism to it. You wanted to build a home/have some work done? You went around the neighborhood and recruited some guys, even bartering with them. Regulations were crooked. I found on youTUBE a 15 minute video recording [with 1 long song on repeat] with important and random shots of my hometown - in the 1970s-80s. An interesting perspective as you saw kids playing but as the camera zoomed out you saw unfinished concrete and other rubble next to their play area. A-lot of unfinished projects. I still remember that in person, so much un-fulfilled potential.

I think he would find it difficult to socialize by not either drinking alcohol OR eating pork. "I do neither" is going to rub people the wrong way. But that's just me.
