News / 4th Polish Republic may re-emerge [244]

You are! You are still supporting current government regardless of what they done.

Where did I say I support current government? I simply recognise that's a government chosen in free elections. Amd frankly speaking I can't really see better options in curent political situation

There is no if about that. Yes they government paid but those to whom they paid mysteriously disappeared leaving those who actually done all the work in poverty. Are you telling me that government handed money to some people from the street they knew nothing about? Not even their names?

That's evident mistake, that's for sure.

So, how do you propose those people would feed families in meantime ie for ten years. After all they are pursued by they workers for money so work for them is not an option.Well you don't care, that is their business and the right is in middle and all that BS which hides fact that you are used to corruption.

I had no intention of defending it. I feel sorry for every one that found himself in such situation- no matter if they deal with private corporations or government. It's a shame it takes so long to end the case in court- I never said otherwise.

You have been voting for PO have you not? So it is your fault too, you know that you are responsible for that, you personally as you are still supporting such government.

Why all those assumptions and accusatory tone? I never voted for PO. And as negative as it sounds I can't see any political force right now that would be free of being driven by the passion for power instead of doing something good for the country.

Stalin once said: 'it's not important how people vote, what's important is who counts the ballots.'

Do you suggest the refferendum on constitution was forged?

BTW are you in favour of the educational-reform referendum now being proposed?

Rather not. Many ppl don't have the slightest idea about it. The constitution was given to ppl in free examples to make them get to know it while on the education reform- most ppl have no idea how it's prepared, what does it mean for kids and so on.

I'm not saying that you took part in anything and I haven't implied that. What I had in mind was that you are immune on some kinds of corruption in everyday life and more so in governmental policy.

I know you weren't talking about me personally but I just wanted to show that it's not true I'm in any way used to corruption.

So what other institution done about that?

If the Polish state didn't pay their bill the victims can go to court and demand Skarb Państwa to pay. Simple as that- it's the same as if private contractor wouldn't pay his bills.

That would be almost a year - have that case been settled?

I rather doubt that since cases in court can take a rather long time.

No Lenka as much as you are use to corruption

Just lol. I never took or gave a bribe. I'm more used to ppl simply steeling than corruption

So what TK said in the case? I don't know - what I'm guessing they would not take on such a case as it has nothing to do with Constitution.

True, for other cases we have different institutions. But we were talking about constitution so I named TK

Sure, did they prevented people from being robbed by the government? Are they paying their bills? I'm curios - tell me.

That's not their job. They are there to make sure are laws are compatible with constitution and in that respect there were useful.

That way we won't get anywhere. With that argument we can ditch all laws, govs and so on. You can't deny that referendum is the most democratic way to ensure ppl decide what they want. There isn't better way. Of course we can say that majority of society is simply stupid but what can we do? Nothing. That's why I oppose to you using the word pushed

Iron- in every country ppl and gov cheat, steal and all that. We can't deny that. The only thing we can do is to try and prevent it- hence TK. And they proved to be useful in the past.

If they get majority - what is the problem?

Majority is not enough as I'm sure you know. They needed 2/3 and they weren't able to get that so their initiative failed.

They are doing all they want right now and people are just being silly if they think that some law is protecting them.

We have TK to make sure constitution isn't violated.

No problem referendum could be held for a new Constitution.

If that was the case and Poles decided they want the new constitution I would accept it even if I didn't like the changes. However that wasn't the case and PiS never got the 2/3 support in Sejm it needed to change it.

News / Poland's Nationalists hold congress [132]

Does it matters?

Oh, to some I guess it does. I was asked that question many times. As well as for my nationality, my mother tongue and so on. I have nothing to hide in that respect so I don't mind.

One can feel closer to Germany or Poland or can be equally attached to both.

Supporting RAŚ and calling Silesians a German option in disguise are two different things. I don't support RAŚ- I already stated that I would move if it happened- but I don't appreciate what he said. As well as many here- many that would never checked the "Silesian" nationality in some polls but felt attacked by that statement.

True, but you still can't say it was "pushed". Ppl in Poland wanted that constitution as to when PiS ruled- changes would have been made through Sejm so normal ppl wouldn't be allowed to express their opinion. Which way is more "pushy" ?

The present constitution was pushed through by the ex-commies (Kwaśniewski & Co.) with the support of their fellow-travellers from th left-leaning, cosmopolitan KOR-ite 'Unia Rozwolności' (or whatever it was called). The patriotic truly Polish AWS (Solidarity Electoral Action) led by Jerzy Buzek was dead set against it but got outvoted. Unlike normal constitutions it even lacks a clear 'incvocatio Dei' in its preamble.

The constutution was established if far more democratic way than what they wanted to do- we had a referendum so it wasn't pushed

My close family don't. And I don't. But we still felt slighted and offended by that statement. And as I said- many ppl won't forget him this.

People of culture also say the PiS-led governemtn was better for the nation's culture.

I never heard that one.

But what exactly they want to overthrown, which is good.

For example our constitution which I think is perfectly good.

News / Poles v Tusk's school 'reform' [58]

The start of earlier compulsory schooling also helps families, as the carer can return to full time work faster.

I mostly agree with your post but as to the point quoted above- this doesn't really change anything in that respect since 0 grade was compulsory as well

But it seems they are not allowed to have good impressions.

So what exactly do they deny and why is it bad ?

Simple idea of IV RP is overthrowing III RP with everything it represents- good and bad. Such behaviour is simply stupid.

I'm not debating Lenka. I'm just saying as it is. 60to 70 % of voters in Poland do not vote.2

True, my bad. But if I'm not mistaken you do sugest that PiS and IV RP are not so popular BECAUSE ppl are ignorant.

77777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777777 777777 77777777777777777777777I - that cat's contribution.

I love it :) My cats are often trying to communicate with PF members as well :)

Lenka if someone is interested in this he/she can find plenty of articles in newspapers or in the Internet about that. There are historical books about that. There is even book written by sociologist professor - Staniszkis. What you are saying is - there have been nothing on TV about that. Yes there were no much about that for a reason. If you don't want to trust somebody you need to secure information and sources on your own.

I'm rather about the fact that changing constitution and "overthrowing" the III RP shouldn't be taken slightly. Isn't it better to just change what is wrong than blowing things up?

So basically you say:
The hell with the things that we all agreed to we will break the deal? Where is honour in that? Would you make buisness with someone with that approach? I wouldn't.

That's not really an argument Iron. I could easily call PiS voters names but what kind of argument is it? My first problem is with the fact that this idea denies all that happened in the last 23 years. No real debate about what was good and what was wrong- that's not too smart in my opinion

And treasonous.

I don't really consider it treason- it was just an image created to attract ppl. Noone really wanted to overthrow the state.

Was your mum in the PZPR?

No, she wasn't. Neither was my father. From what I know not one person from my family (close- I have no idea about the rest) has ever joined PZPR.

As to the IV RP- I think we really have to notice that it was marvelous slogan- short, catchy and undefined.

Stop the personal journeys- I think we are all sick and tired of that. If you have some issues- go to Random. It's a beautiful space where all are free to make as many off-topic posts as one wants

that is a hysterical reaction to propaganda - no shame in that!

And the fact that I didn't like what they did isn't enough? I know you think differently but I didn't react to propaganda- I reacted to the decissions they made.

What do you mean by that ? Do they force people to practice religion ? Make sex before marriage illegal ? Can you give actual examples how conservative parties are restricting individual freedom ?

For example by including religion classes into students final grade ( or GPA) and usualy with harm for the students that do not attend those classes.

How were you negatively affected ? Were you arrested by CBA ?

Haha, no, I never had to fear that. Rather that the ruling party made my country into a place I didn't want to live in. That was the one and only time I considered emigrating if it doesn't change.

She means that she couldn't live in illusion that all that politics are for politician and that what goes in Warsaw doesn't really affect her. Also she could not think about that. See that world for what it is can be scary.

I would apreciate it greatly if you didn't say what I meant.
