nie, on wypadl z kolyski na glowe w dziecinstwie i od tej pory probuje sie odnalzesc;). Ja go mam na ignore, bo nie znosze mezczyzn, ktorzy maja gorsze humory, niz kobiety podczas okresu;P

Genealogy / I'm pure Polish and have some red hair on my beard [23]

Census as of 2010 says 88% are Catholic.. your gonna doubt the census Marysia?

what people are and what people claim in Poland to be are two different things. Many Poles claim to be Catholic, but they don't practise eg. don't go to church, dislike the the church and so on. But you know better it seems.

As for the red hair- there is a small % of red hair in Poland - not a big deal and not something to write home about.

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

i've watching and listening to him on x factor since the present series began and until u posted violin girl i had no idea about his music. i quite like him.

I think he is quite interesting as a musician, his comments on X-faxctor are often sleazy to be honest. The funny thing is that I didn't notice his not so perfect Polish - lol. It must be the teaching getting to me.

Anyways, he reminds me of Tom Waits a bit. Def somebody to watch on the music scene.

I like him too, at one point in Catchy Kathy (1:03 and 2:29) someone goes 'to, tre, fire' in Danish! :D (two, three, four)!

interesting. He grew up in Denmark.

I have never been a big fan of TV - yet I am a big fan of music competition, I watched the American and the Canadian Idol (YES), so I switched to X- factor here. Was it worth coming home? Yes, but not because of the polish TV. Have I noticed any changes?

It has changed quite a lot and it became very Western - there is a lot of competition programs and tv became more of the entertainment then anything else.

while settling nicely or not so nicely in Poland (depending on the day) I went back to think about the city I left less then a year ago and this is what I found:(

That proves Polish vitality. They are not sitting on their collective ass and expecting a miracle, or for someone else to provide for them. I think it's admirable quality.

yah, like rats leaving the sinking ship;).

Many young people after finishing their studies (almost for free) are planning to leave Poland for better postures.

but Havok has plenty of good points all who responded reacted in the typical, miserable Polish way. Why? Toilets and stuff... And, why are mixing 'American way' into it?

I agree, he says it how it is and that does not sit comfortable with some people.

When you debate something in this country, I mean when regular folks talk), they will hear you first - then respond.

that is not a Polish way and it is so annoying.

Unlike my Polish compatriots, when they want to be heard but they don't know how to listen.

so true, I am finding it out again after moving back. Had to tell my bossy friends to shut it and now they are offended. Oh, well........

so true, but that is unusual even in Canada in a sense that other cites are less multicultural.

I am a former Torontonian and I loved the feeling. Travel to Hamilton, or Oshawa and it becomes fairly white.

To be honest you guys are a nation of idiots but its still suprising sometimes.

you are an American too, so don't criticize your own folks. After all the US gave the the upbringing and the education, but I guess it was a waste of money, which could have gone to educate a worthier person- oh, well - sh*t happens.

On topic.

bribing the priest is the way to go. I think he is asking for money,so you need to talk to your wife and explain it to her, since she is the one who is afraid to be condemned by her family if they find out that you paid the priest - they DON"T have to know. She chose YOU, so she should go all the way, including the bribe if she wants to have a nice Catholic ceremony:) and make her family happy.

Let us know how it went. Or, give up the hassle of having a church wedding, you are already married to her and it is her family who has to adjust:) and accept the situation. After all they want you to be happy, right:)?

the truth is that we cannot make everybody happy:)

So it is Matura, a Matriculation Exam, and in Polish Ezgamin dojarzalosci , which has nothing to do with reaching maturity.
