Hate to drag up a rather dead post. But I am looking to get a case of Okocim OK Beer here in the UK. Obviously most shops are going to be unlikely, but does anyone know if there are any websites that I can order a case from to be delivered here?

I noticed that the Polish guys I worked with loved the Norwegian girls we got in and the fact that they were big spenders.
Italians are disliked by the hospitality trade the world over (outside of Italy) because they are generally very arrogant, demanding, rude and never tip. I work with an Italian scottish family and they refuse to serve in the restaurant when Italians are in because they are worse with Italians.

So in summary, Germans love anal sex and Greeks invented gayness.
I honestly don't know where the Scottish being thrifty stereotype started...I have always found scottish people to be very generous...except people from Fife.

Language / Instruction how to install Polish diacritic letters on your computer [30]
I have the polish diacritic letters installed on my computer. But can't remember how I did it. I am using Vista as is my friend who's computer I am trying to fix.
We have gone through the control panel method, but I vaguely remember when I did it that I installed a "language pack" or something like that. Will I need to do this for them?
I just can't remember how I did it, it seemed really easy last time though.

I think you will find that this woman is a boot. You need to get her tae f***. She is using you as an ego boost. She wants to know that she is hot enough to have you if she wants and by texting her you are confirming this.
If she is sitting about kissing other guys then she's not really very interested in you is she?

It does defeat the purpose. Technically the tip is a gift, it is not part of the bill it is basically you giving money to a person to say thank you for the service. Therefore the company has no real right to take it off you. However I know Wetherspoons suppliment their wage bill with any tips left on credit cards and the staff don't get a tip as such from it. So if you are drinking in an establishment like that it's best to tip in cash.

That would suggest to me that your friend is rather tight fisted. I have never been anywhere in Krakow where service is included and they have lied on the receipt. As for working in a restaurant, people do expect tips. Wages for waiting staff are around 6pln per hour and they make up the rest in tips.
As such I have always left a tip in restaurants. Taxis are extorsionate so I don't tip them. I tip the hairdresser but just to round it, same with the pizza guy.
For this situation, just say clearly how much you want the total to be...that's how most polish people did it with me.

Love / My boyfriend is on a Polish dating site [158]
I haven't to be honest. I have become a typical bartender, just like I was before her. Flirtatious but never involved with anyone. She still texts and it hurts. There is nothing to cure that except copious amounts of vodka and lots of pretending.
The only reason I am still here is in the off chance she will change her mind...i have given myself until February. Then it's off to Norway with friends to earn a fortune...and then spend it all on stupid things.
I love/hate women...see if they could be gorgeous and not insane...that would be awesome!

Hmmm, not sure that is true. I went out with a girl once who owned up to getting drunk one night and having a one night stand with some stranger. Now that was hurtful and I was raging...but hey, she made a mistake, admitted it and was sorry. The mental imagary was pretty bad for a few weeks but it died down and we were quite happy for a while. Just grew apart and are still friends.
However when I found that my current ex had met someone on a night out, kissed him, texted him and attended a few other parties with him while still my girlfriend I was heartbroken. She sat there and, as if it was an excuse, said "But I never slept with him". The fact that she had feelings for this person and was actually conciously making desicions to be with him and text him while in a relation was a lot more hurtful than someone being stupid and having a one night stand where it's just sex.

Actually the law about letting people use the toilet in Scotland is quite a recent law. It came into effect with the various other rambling rights laws a few years ago.
Luckily it doesn't happen very often.

Life / Reasons for moving to Poland [291]
I moved here for love...(which makes me one of 50%) which didn't work out. But in exchange I fell in love with the place. It was a struggle at first but now I am getting to grips with life in Poland and really appreciating the country. People are always happy to help out. The country is beautiful to look at. Fair enough the wages leave a lot to be desired with the cost of living going up so quickly, but that's life. Oh, and the girls are marvellous.
I currently have no want to go home. For all those who haven't been and want to come then just do it!

Work / English qualifications to start Teaching English In Poland. Is degree of some sort needed? [123]
I realise what I type on here will be more along the lines of slang as it is how I speak in everyday conversation and, as such, forms what I type on a forum. I know how to read, write and speak in proper English if I have to (legal letters, speaking competitions, debates, etc). However, in general everyday conversation I speak in my West End Glasgow twang.
If one of our Polish forum members made such a mistake, I could understand, but a native speaker?

I was actually using English as in the class not the language. So I stand by the fact that I did English in school.
But that's good to know. Plus I will be teaching in UK English. Not because I think American English is inferior, rather that I have been brought up and educated in UK English and so that is the language I speak.
Is there lots of specialised language schools or is it best actually going to schools and asking there?

Now I have been told that for this I do not need to be fluent in Polish as the native speakers are more there to help correct grammar and teach the actual speaking as opposed to learning it all in books. However does anyone know off hand what sort of English qualifications I would need for this? Would speaking English for near enough my whole life and doing English in school be enough or would I need a degree of some sort?
