News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

=gumishu]Wehrmacht grandpa was not used in a TV spot AFAIK -

Come on, does it really matter when or where it was used? What matters is it was successfully used by PiS against PO in 2005. Today, PO is paying beautiful for fair - pięknym za nadobne, keeping it very decent as they didn`t lie as much as PiS. Isn`t it perfectly all right, Gumishu???? :):):):)

News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

=boletus]After the election: Hofman explains that the study did not detect two things: the changes in voters support, but, more importantly, growth in voters participation. The turnout of voters were underestimated, and that turnout has obviously affected the outcome of the election - he said.
Looks like PO treacherously manipulated the public into:
a. Switching sides and voting against PiS
b. Visiting polling stations en mass

That is why I have always considered PiS as and for intellectually underdeveloped. Not because they invented such nonsense.
But because they have seemed to believe that people will believe their crap.
Unfortunately for them, only 30% voters do. And the number is diminishing.
The Polish peoples are getting their education.

=gumishu] PO turned into scare mongers a week before the campaign end,

That was a good trick by PO. It reminded me of similar tricks played by PiS in former campaigns. Did you forget Wehrmacht grandpa, empty fridge, Mordo ty moja? :):):):)

What matters is that PiS has been contained. Glory to God for that!

Life / Question about hot water in Poland and the use of water heaters? [52]

It may mean you are oversensitive.

Or you live in north east London and belong to 300 people who complained about the quality of water in 2010:

=Jimmu]I didn't mean to stir up so much ****.

Jim, I don`t remember when you last stirred any shyt in PF. What are you talking about? :):):)

That is why I said - some cities! :):):):) Two or three is some, isn`t it? :):):):)

Never mind.
What worries me, though, is the fact that again you haven`t done enough research, I afraid. E.g., Warsaw drinking water is said to be one of better in Poland, safe for people and not requiring boiling before use.

Life / Question about hot water in Poland and the use of water heaters? [52]

Recent research proved that tap water in some Polish cities is better than spring water available in shops.

Exactly. Such technology appeared in Poland in late 1980s/early 1990s.

See a site with your topic from 2001.

News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

New parliament members that Poland hasn`t seen yet: 4. Actually, there has already been one black member in Polish Sejm before.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Godson

As former MP Hanna Zdanowska was elected Mayor of £ódź in the same election, Godson replaced her as a member of the Sejm. He was sworn in on 14 December 2010. The "Obama bump" is considered by many the reason for the many votes he received during the Sejm campaign.[1] His supporters were known to cheer "Vivat! Vivat Polski Obama!" ("Long live the Polish Obama!"). John Godson was re-elected as a member of the Polish parliament on the 9th of October 2011 with 29,832 votes [2]

But there are going to be two now!

Black academic teacher Killion Munyama (PO ) has obtained a parliamentary seat starting in the circle covering the counties of northern and western Wielkopolska. As stated , the voters took into account his competence , not skin color.

A native of Zambia Munyama started from eighth place on the list of PO . He won almost 8,000 votes. So far, the provincial deputy to the regional council .

Both represent PO. Show me a country in Eastern Europe where black people are MPs? :):):):):)

New parliament members that Poland hasn`t seen yet: 5

Do you know that (in)famous agent Ton got his seat?

=Ironside]people who vote are for the most part voting blindly ie do not know what they are voting for

Iron, I admit. PiS voters can be blind at times, indeed.

=WielkiPolak]Either people suddenly realise they have let it get to far and put a stop to it

Do you mean they will stop voting PiS?

Again, like Piłsudski, you consider Poles idiots? Even that 50% that voted? :):):)

Iron, be reasonable. Before you write sth like that, think a little about the last elections. Don`t you realise that those who did go and vote were the most determined and conscious of their choices? And they knew exactly who they want to support or reject?

Life / Question about hot water in Poland and the use of water heaters? [52]

I have found interesting info - the history of Krakow`s power and heating stations. The main station was built as late as in 1970 and it replaced many local stations. The heating system was built. I still remember the road works and giant pipes put underground in late 1970s. We used to play on them.

Poland at that time was underdeveloped and certain technical solutions were simply unattainable. That is why two different systems today.

mpec.krakow.pl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=28&Itemid=62

PS. After they built a station in Skawina, it was possible to supply a new housing estate with hot water for daily use. It happened in 1985. My family live there and I always found it funny they have no gas heater in the bathroom. The water is hot, indeed.

=WielkiPolak]I am slightly dissatisfied with life where I live, not on a financial level, but on a morale level. This is where I see Poland as vastly superior to GB, or it used to be anyway.

So, you believe that Poland is Moral Arcadia?

Yes.

But the world is changing and we with it.

=WielkiPolak]O does not push this but at least it does not try to get rid of completely,

That is good.

=WielkiPolak]whereas I can think of at least 2 parties who would like to whipe out that past and pretend it was never a part of Poland.

That is bad. And painful, indeed.

But it is democracy. People vote as they want.

You have to accept their voices.

Do you suggest that democracy should be abolished in Poland so that a conservative dictatorship could halt the rejection of old values?

News / Will you be proud of tranny (transsexual) representing Poland ? [124]

=gumishu]how do you know Anna is a good politician? she didn't enter the Sejm because of personal valour, personal commitment, lots of work for the community she lives in - ok she is a LGBT activist

Look closely and you will see how you are contradicting yourself! :):):)

=gumishu]yet I do not believe most people who voted her in really knew who they were voting for

In short, you mean, like Piłsudski, Poles are idiots? :):):)

Life / Question about hot water in Poland and the use of water heaters? [52]

Yes, it is perfectly possible. Most apartment blocks built in communist times had only central heating installed, while hot water came from gas heaters. It is still so today, including all may family`s apartments. One may wonder about reasons: costs? inefficiency of old power stations?

=Grzegorz_]What are "her" competence to be there ? What does "she" going to work on ?

You really amaze me with your incredible ignorance. Are you yourself or you let your teenage son take over during your absence?
Have you tried to find out more on that person in other sources than the tabloid media?
Read this blog to get acquainted with the whole story.

=Grzegorz_]I've heard for the last years many comments about physical appearance of politicians from people with political views similar to yours, stuff like for example "short president will be a disgrace for Poland, how will he represent Poland abroad?" and so on, that's why I'm asking...

Don`t equate me with other posters who concentrate on appearance. It is silly.

=Grzegorz_]will you be proud of "Anna" when "she" will be representing Poland in Russia, US or UK ?

I really don`t see a problem. What are you trying to prove?

So far you have only proven how primitive your thinking can be at times. :):):):)

A parody of SLD spot: Pensioners must leave! :):):):)

New parliament members that Poland hasn`t seen yet:

Anna Grodzka has become Poland's first openly transgender parliamentarian.
Grodzka, who transitioned last year, secured a place in the Sejm, the nation's lower house of parliament, reports Warsaw Business Journal.
The politician, who is the founder and president of NGO Trans-Fuzja, received 19,541 votes the Kraków II electoral district.
"Today, Poland is changing. I am the proof along with Robert Biedron, a homosexual and the head of an anti-homophobia campaign who ran for office in Gdynia," Grodzka said.

She also noted the day before her win was confirmed, "If I'll be elected in Krakow, I'll be Poland's first transgender woman, and the only transgender [member of parliament] not only in Poland, but the entire world," adding, "In New Zealand, there was Georgina Beyer, but she is no longer an MP since 2007."

Grodzka joined the Palikot's Movement (RP) after many years with the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD).
Warsaw Business Journal notes that RP is known for its liberal views including supporting LGBT rights, abortion, and legalizing "soft drugs."

Transgender from Poland

huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/11/anna-grodzka-transgender-politician_n_1004840.html

New parliament members that Poland hasn`t seen yet: 2

Robert Biedroń (Polish pronunciation: [ˈrɔbɛrd ˈbjedrɔɲ]; born April 13, 1976 in Krosno, Poland) is a Polish LGBT activist and politician. Once a member of Social Democracy of the Republic of Poland, now he is a member in its successor party, Democratic Left Alliance, and was co-responsible for writing down its stature. Currently he serves as advisor to many of its politicians and leaders. He is also the board member of the Polish Campaign Against Homophobia.

He was an unsuccessful candidate for the Sejm (Polish parliament) in 2005 (from Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej), the Democratic Left Alliance, the main left wing party.
He was accused of assaulting a police officer in Warsaw.[1].
In the October 2011 parliamentary elections he was elected to Sejm (Polish Parliament) getting 16,919 votes in Gdynia district, from Palikot's Movement list [2].

Today, he went back on his words. He said that it is Him who is greeted and cheered by Poles with slogans like: Jarosław, Save Poland!

Such voices make Him continue his Mission in Poland.

I suggest to start calling Him the Saviour from now on. :):):):)

Do you remember PiS internal polls a few weeks ago which suggested they were ahead of PO by a few %?

Today PiS arrogant spokesman admitted they were wrong.

Why didn`t he admit to a naive attempt of a cheeky bluff?

=Gustav]But it is important to consider the full implications of something before slinging mud.

Don`t be silly. It is that primitive Grzegorz who slings mud at people who suffer from gender problems. Transsexualism is a purely medical problem, like cancer or pneumonia, it is crazy to imply that such people are sick or worse.

Guys, am I really talking to intelligent people or utter bigots? When were you facking born? In 12 century?

I tell the truth about maniacs from PiS in order to balance your BS about PO.

=gumishu]ou don't have time to explain a presumably simple and non-controversial matter?

If it is so simple, why do you need my explanation? :):):):)

One basic question for you: are you as primitive as Grzegorz and consider her worse than "normals"?
