=theKNOWLEDGE]I do hope you told them that English grammar is largely made up and argued over and not in any way sensible or definitive? ;)

They were curious to know how distant can the Present Continuous future action be. I said it can be even one year. It seems I was right. :):):)

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I thought and knew, as I have common sense and some knowledge. He has been before a couple of times and I think is trying to make out that he knows more...

Hey, don`t leave me behind like that! What about you being a native? For the sake of my students!!!!

News / What do PO voters expect from the new Polish government ? [32]

=gumishu]oh, well - Gdańsk-Toruń motorway will be paid in its entirety in 3 months - the whole stretch will cost you 30zł for a regular car

Some people think it is a lot, some think it is cheap.

I am mean that is why I prefer driving on country roads. The journey to the seaside, 700km, cost me 10 hours last year. Without any toll. I can still bear it.

News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

20 September prediction game results:

=pawian]
Mine:
PO - 34%
PiS - 29%
SLD - 12%
PSL- 7%

Ooops.

=Grzegorz_]PO - 31%
PiS - 32%
SLD - 13%
PSL- 8%

Oops.

=hague1cmaeron]
PO-45%
PIS-27%
SLD-14%
PSL-7%

Close.

=delphiandomine]As it stands?
PO - 39% (a slight slip due to the 'youth' not bothering to vote, unlike last time)
PiS - 32% (a strong showing, but no improvement on 2007)
SLD - 17% (very strong, I can see that the SLD are putting a lot of effort into the small cities this time round - and they have the 'alienated from PO' vote)
PSL - 6% (just enough)

Not bad.

=adnar]Predictions? Well...
PO - 39%
PiS - 31%
SLD - 15%
PSL - 9%

Not bad.

I'll send 500PLN to Rydzyk and wear a mohair beret for a month if you're right.

No need to wear a beret.

=gumishu]remember (and don't start twisting away now) - we're not saying of majority of votes or PiS getting into government here - just the simple mathematical construction that PiS wins more votes than any other party (counted seperately) - I'm sure you will love your beret - and I assure you that Polish pigs are fat enough not to be able to make it into the air ;)

Sorry, gumishu.

=gumishu]
btw teflcat you will be the firts male adult person to wear a mohair beret that to be heard of :P

Not this time.

Love / Help me understand the different mannerisms and mentality of men in Przemysl area! [28]

=bita4u]as I have gotten cross with him a few times and then find out later how upset he's gotten over it, he feels sorry, I feel sorry,

How is sex between you? Is it perfect?

If it is, stick to your guy, marry him and have a lot of wonderful intelligent children that will contribute their rich Iranian heritage into Polish culture.

But if there is one thing in your sex that worries you, drop your guy because your relationship is going to break sooner or later.

Life / Polish Card Games? Goła / Snap. [16]

Does anyone have a serious answer to my query?

I don`t know such a game of cards.

News / Poland Parliament elections in October 2011 [944]

=hague1cmaeron]Surprise, Surprise. PIS pigs want to have their snouts in two troughs at once.

They do behave like swine, indeed.
Today one of them said that they are politically harrassed because what they know appalls Tusk and his team.
Are they exploiting the same old trick by PiS: I know but I won`t tell?
Don`t they realise that such policy caused PiS` loss in the elections?

News / The cross in Polish parliament - Does it bother you? [100]

=Mr Grunwald]You see pawian, one can't be unique, or different. Cause in medieval times all Europeans did crusades... had knights... had big castles... lords who were subjugating their subjects and etc.

So for you the Middle Ages continued till 16/17 century?
:):):):)

News / The cross in Polish parliament - Does it bother you? [100]

=Polonius3]Each country should have the right to cultivate its own heritage, and in Poland the cross is defintiely a major part of it.

Exactly. I agree fully.

But don`t forget other denominations have also contributed into Polish heritage. Quite a lot.

Orthodox road crosses in southern Poland, 170 km from Krakow, old and new:

s

Do you know how religiously tolerant Poland was in 16/17 century?

=Ironside]- billions of monies from EU since 2007

If PO plays well, there will be next billions for Poland in the European budget.

=Ironside] billions of loans made by PO

Have those billions been wasted? Thrown into mud (wyrzucone w błoto?)? Stolen by PO politicians?

Come on. European sponsorship for various projects in Poland is usually 75%, the rest comes from the Polish side. Don`t you know that Poland is still so poor that it has to borrow this 15% in order to get a project running?

Now, face the reality - either you borrow the money and get a modernisation project, or give it up and are left with obsolete stuff which brings losses instead of profit.

What do you choose?

=Ironside]All that money create an illusion of economical stability in Poland.

Nope. The economic disturbances reached Poland long ago. I have already lost some income due to it. But it never came to my mind to blame it on PO. PiS wouldn`t do much better. Quite the opposite.

=Foreigner4]as it would be to place other flags up there as well.

What is wrong with placing all the flags?

=Foreigner4] Poles are majority catholic,

Majority doesn`t mean 100%.

History / Do Poles really blame Britain for Poland becoming Communist after the war? [104]

=Blue Izzie]
that Poles blame Britain
and Churchill
for Poland being Communist after the war,
because Britain didn't stand up to Stalin
at the Yalta conference.

True.
True.
True.
True.
True.

But it is quite understandable. Poland meant nothing to Churchill. When he grew up, Poland didn`t exist (partitions) and didn`t matter. In result, he didn`t feel any moral obligation to help her later on.

=boletus]Round 5. - Of course, due to very principled, courageous and pro-state attitude of both gentlemen we may fear some form of attack from those who rule Poland - commented Mariusz Blaszczak of PiS,on TVN24

Typical PiS` rhetorics.

I just read it in today`s issue of Newsweek - the insider source explained what the main reasons of PiS` loss are, according to J Kaczyński.

He mentioned the following mistakes of his party and himself:

1. Merkel as alleged Stasi agent scandal.
2. PiS` support for radical football fans.
3. Gazeta Polska`s dubious support for PiS.

=Ironside]there is no reason to be unsatisfied with government other than being supporter of PiS, are you really saying that?
a question addressed to you pawian!

Shyt, I am reading it and cannot understand.

=Ironside]Sure there is no reason to be unsatisfied with government other than being supporter of PiS, are you really saying that?

I am reading it in the original version and still no comprehende.

I am probably too drunk. So, the last shot and goodnight.

=Ironside]what do you need pawian is a kick in your hole.
Anyway when I will have a while I will refute all your points.....

Iron, you have a serious problem with grammar. :):):):)
Normaly, I admire your English. It is really impressive.
But you commit mistakes from time to time. It seems to take place whenever you are PiSsed off.
Why don`t you cool off a bit? Remember, there are guys in the forum who wanna improve their English! Your PiSsed off posts might be a bit misleading. :):):)

PS1. What my points are you talking about? I don`t remember making any lists with points.....

I am just having fun but you treat it so seriously... :):):):)

PS2. Thank you for not calling me a dick. I do appreciate it. :):):):):):):)

Law / What are chances for Poland to join in Eurasian Economic Community? [100]

=Crow]What are chances for Poland to join in Eurasian Economic Community?

Eurasian means countries which geographically (Russia) or mentally (Belarus) are a combination of European-Asian traditions.

Poland is purely European.

Why should we join the Community which is alien to us and against our traditions?
