They try now some sort of positive selection, but we had actually that ind of experiment under the last SPD government for IT experts from India and Pakistan, giving them "green cards". Not a big success though.
Just look at the German football national team. ;)
They still carry the load of their ex colonies...
I don't think Germany wants more Turks or Africans

Would agree on that one. Maybe just the proportions blue/white collar will change, but overall rather no.
Former SPD chancelor Schröder started the inniciative green cards for IT experts from India etc...yes, this is just the follow up.
Obviously Germany needs quality people more than ever ;)
What mistakes? It was the desperate need of simple work power after WWII. They did not think about any kind of selection then. That was o.k.. West Germany wanted to grow fast and did not have enough man-power because self inflicted losses in WWII.
What was stinky was the immigration policy following that time. No selection whatsoever.
That happens when politics just fish for voters.

To say bye, bye to Euro? Quite the opposite. Artificial things don't live long.
Maybe the simple plan of a trading union would have been better fit, but the problem was/is that you have players who are highly motivated to rule over others in order to strengthen their economy. It's more about the ego than of real partnership.
Just see the shortform of P.I.G.S.? Anything visible?
The leading role of F, UK and D could have been organized better, but if you are too ambicious....then you have this.
I am pretty sure that the well needed adjustments will be done in order to overcome possible future crisis.

Now parents have to psychologists, sponsors....and of course for the kiddy only the best.
My guess is that this trend is not to stop. Unfortunately. Consequences of that we will probably not experience... ;-)

So were neighbrs and family friends. If a parent was called into school because Johnny had done something stupid, little Johnny would 'sorely' regret it. He was not only grounded, depriced of TV and pocket money that week but may well have been in for a good thrashing.
Good old times. They will never come back.
